Sleeping Bear Resort was the perfect getaway for our family this summer. Owners Randy and Doreen put a lot of thought into making their property clean and safe during these unusual times, including a contactless check-in. The cabins were clean and had everything we needed. Instead of a community campfire, each cabin was provided their own fire pit, along with their own grill, picnic table and Adirondack chairs. There was plenty of room to spread out on the beach and plenty of toys to use in the water. The location was excellent for day trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes and nearby towns and parks. And Randy and Doreen made themselves available via text throughout our stay. We had a wonderful time and look forward to a return in the future!

We enjoyed an amazing fall weekend at Sleeping Bear Resort. Five couples stayed in the Lodge. It has five bedrooms with Queen size beds; nobody had to share a room and each couple had privacy.

The lodge is very well stocked with kitchen amenities and has a big side by side refrigerator. We ate all of our meals in and found everything we needed to cook. The view of Lake Herendeene is unbelievable in the fall. Amazing fall color and stunning views from the deck of the lodge.

We had a campfire on Saturday afternoon with wood provided by the resort. We toured the Leelanau peninsula and some did Mission Point. Everything is close by and there are many great restaurants within driving distance. We especially recommend Oaky Tavern. Would we come back again? You bet!!

Spent 4 nights here with our family of 7 in the Lodge. Our teenagers loved the pool table in the basement and the bedroom layout was great. The entire home was clean and kitchen well appointed for basic cooking. Our entire family loved the community play space with corn hole, fire pits, and play area for the younger 2. The beach and lake were picture perfect and Randy came out and put the trampoline in the water while we were there. We saw an Eagle while kayaking too!! A great find!! Our hosts were so easy to deal with via email and all check in/out was simple. Highly recommend for all families.

Can't think of anything else that would make this place better. Cabins are perfectly maintained and are just rustic enough so that you know you're not in the Plaza Hotel (not a bad thing). Grounds, including beach area are well taken care of and very clean. Special appreciation for the abundant camp fire wood that is well seasoned and starts up easy.

I have stayed at the cabins many times throughout the years and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and comfortable cabins. This was the first time that I had rented Cabin 1 and loved the brick patio overlooking the lake. There was only one small annoyance with the people that rented the Den and Cabin 5 as part of a family reunion. They were using the patio as a walkway back and forth between their two units instead of using the driveway to go around the cabins until I told them to give us some privacy. Once they had put items on our picnic table while standing on the patio chatting and allowing young children to run around screaming near the open picture window. They were either clueless or inconsiderate about their actions but it should probably be made clear that the brick patio for Cabin 1 is not part of the common areas since there is an extra charge for renting it.

Host were utterly rude beds are not the size that is stated on the website they claim to have Wi-Fi. Hosts dogs keeping coming into our room in the middle of the night. Matters are moldy and uncomfortable to sleep on. Never coming back here

Twenty eight of our family ( ages 5-70) enjoyed a fabulous week at Sleeping Bear Resort. Doreen and Randy were attentive and showed us great hospitality. We rented the Lodge, The Bear's Den, and 3 2-bedroom cabins. Everything was immaculate, well stocked and very comfortable. Our family thoroughly enjoyed all the complimentary water craft, the campfires, the beautiful lake, fishing, hearing the loons and watching the eagles. Sleeping Bear Resort is quiet and peaceful, and has so much to offer. There is so much to do in the area too. We enjoyed climbing the dunes at Pierce Stocking, renting pontoon boats and jet skis on Glen Lake, having ice cream at Moomers, skeat shooting, hikes at Empire Bluffs and so much more. We will return again as the kids and grandkids have requested.

Pros: private swimming beach with water trampoline, free kayaks and paddleboards, each cabin has its own charcoal grill and fire pit, free firewood, bags game, basketball hoop, plenty of towels, comfy beds, cabin #5 had a great view of the lake, cabin #5 size was just right for family of 4 with 2 teenagers. Exceptionally clean! Plenty of places to relax on a porch swing and watch the sunset or read a book. New jungle gym with swings and slide.
Con: the only downside was that the cabins were in close proximity to each other, however, I would still strongly recommend this resort bc of all the reasons listed above!

We rented The Lodge at Sleeping Bear Resort Dec. 26-30th to give my brother and I a place to gather our families together for the holidays. We had the full resort to ourselves! Family came from Houghton, Marquette, West Bloomfield and Traverse. Truth be told, we seldom left the house, spending our time playing games, watching movies and, of course, eating! The lake was frozen - we saw a few fishermen and women out there each morning - but it was warm so we didn't trust the ice. Maybe next year we'll bring our ice skates and fishing gear. It was great to have uninterrupted time to reconnect. The house was incredibly clean and exactly as the website indicated. Everything was perfect!

The cabin was very clean and well kept. The resort property was beautiful and very enjoyable with the private beach, kayaks, canoes, etc... kids had a lot of fun and the evening bonfires were relaxing. Would highly recommend and plan to come again. Very nicely located to, close to traverse city and sleeping near as well as many other places.

We stayed in the Bear’s Den in June 2018. It was not air conditioned however there was a box fan in each bedroom.

Answer from Randy F
Lake Ann, Michigan, United States
Our rates fluctuate based on the season. The cabins are as low as $80/night during the off season and are $1,075 per week during the summer season. All our rates and availability are on our website from a desktop or laptop computer. Their tougher to find on a mobile phone. I'd encourage you to call us if you have any questions.
