My husband, two little kids (2 and 5 yrs), and I stayed in the Duck cabin for one week. We absolutely loved it! The cabin is directly across from the playground which kept the kids plenty busy in between swimming and catching minnows with their nets. The Duck cabin has a lake-view and is just a few steps away (short walk) from the lake. There are three separate piers and plenty of space for everyone. The lake is absolutely perfect for young kids; sandy bottom and shallow for a long way out (and I mean a long way out). Driftwood Cabins offers rowboats, kayaks, paddle boards for anyone to use (renters) and a motor can be rented for a small fee for the fishing boat. Also available for rent is a pontoon boat. There is also a large indoor game room on site but that was temporarily closed due to COVID-19 precautions. Loved this place. At check out, we provided a deposit for the following year. Thank you Driftwood. You made our first family vacation a wonderful experience! Looking forward to our vacation in 2021 with you all. …
The owners are wonderful. The cabins are sweet. The view is great and the sunsets breathtaking. Tip Up Town was cold. It was a very cold weekend in Houghton Lake. TUT was brutally cold with a wind chill below zero. It is so comforting that we had a nice cozy, warm and comfortable cabin again. Our 2nd year in a row. Here's to many more.
We stayed in the Bear cabin for 3 weeks late September and early October. Although we had cold and rainy weather, we still enjoyed our stay! Karen, Jim and Paul made our visit enjoyable. They know the area very well and offered recommendations for local restaurants and fun day trips. Our cabin was very comfortable and well furnished. The beds were very comfortable, which was very important to both my husband and myself. During our stay, my family came up for a visit. Karen made the cabin next door to us available for their 2 night stay. It was most appreciated! I highly recommend Driftwood Resorts for future stays in the Houghton Lake area. We have already made our plans for a return visit next year!
We have been staying here with family regularly for several years. The lakeside cabins are very cool and feature an amazing view of the lake. The hosts are incredibly nice and accommodating. There are many, many fun activities to do in and out of the water: boating, fishing, paddling, kayaking, pool table, ping pong, playground, water volleyball, board games, golf (The Quest golf club) and a lot more. They keep adding new things to keep us busy, recently adding standup paddleboards. We always look forward to our time at the Driftwood. Highly recommended.
Stayed for a winter weekend with a group of friends in two of the lakefront 1930 vintage log cabins. Perfect rustic fun. Modern game room is fantastic if the weather doesn't cooperate. Ping pong, air hockey, shuffleboard, pool, etc. Thanks to Karen and her husband for all of their little touches, from themed decor to beautiful woodworking adorning the immaculately maintained facilities. We will be back.
