I spent three nights at the Sheridan on the Lake B&B during a visit to the UP. I stayed in the loft room, which is in the building over the garage, and a bit further back from the lake. I was concerned initially about possible traffic noise, as the B&B is not far off the main road heading into Houghton, but the windows in the loft face the lake, and there are no windows facing the road, and thus the room was quiet and I was unable to hear any traffic. The loft room was very spacious, as well as the walk-in shower in the bathroom. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. There is a heater/AC in the room, which you can adjust to your preferred temperature. The Wifi worked well. The breakfasts each morning, were delicious and filling, including an interesting Swedish dish (for which I cannot remember the name,) that was delicious. Bill and Barbara Briggs were very welcoming, and I am so thankful for the time that Barbara spent on helping me plan my last day there. She took time in going over the map with me on places to hike and recommended gift shops and restaurants when I ventured up to the Copper Harbour area. I was very appreciative of her responsiveness to emails and questions that came up. It is also noted that they both were very diligent in wearing masks during this pandemic, and I felt very covid-safe during my stay there. Thanks so much Barbara and Bill for your gracious hospitality.

This is a beautiful location with wonderful accommodations. Bill and Barb are wonderful hosts and the conversation over breakfast was excellent!! We were up there to 'see off' three college boys heading to the UP. There is a rail to trail path right outside the B&B that goes quite a distance. This is excellent for cyclists or hikers!

Used this B&B as base for recent trip to Keeweenaw Peninsula and Porcupine Mountains. Just beautiful view of lake, very clean and comfortable accommodations for two nights. We like to stay in B &B when we can and Owners Bill and Barb are tough to beat. Breakfasts, both mornings were excellent and dinner recommendations were spot on. Also helpful hints on what to see. Great location, highly recommend, price is right, will not be disappointed.

For a month we looked for a place to go for a short vacation this year while our bathroom was being remodeled. At last we decided on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. COVID seemed almost nonexistent there and my partner had never been. After looking at many motels, hotels, and resorts, we finally chose Sheridan on the Lake, a B and B in Houghton. What a lovely surprise! It was so beautiful. The view from our private patio was stunning. Our hosts, Barb and Bill, were helpful and fun. And the breakfasts! Wonderful! A new set of dishes and placemats every day, and the color scheme matched the food. When they found out my partner was dairy intolerant, they adjusted the recipes to accommodate him. They clued us in on restaurants and sights in the area. We just had a wonderfully relaxing five days. And the price was unbelievably reasonable. I could not recommend them more highly.

My wife and I travel quite a bit and always stay at B&Bs. Sheridan On the Lake is one of the few we would give a five star rating. The accommodation were absolutely wonderful, Bill and Barbara delightful, and the location perfect. If we ever make it back to the Upper Peninsula, we will definitely stay at Sheridan On the Lake again.
