I would like to thank all the worker and especially the manger. It’s not a easy time to be a park manger, but Brain has gone out of this way to make sure we are all safe. With temperatures above 90 degrees the pool is a problem. But Brain solve that with a sign up sheet. Is every happy no, but we are a little safer. Brain is a problem solver, he listens to other ideas, and problems. The park is beautiful lots of activity for the kids during the weekends. We are seasonal, live her all of the summer, I would like to see more actively during to the weeks for all of us living here. Thanks again to all the team and Brain.

This is one of the best properties we have stayed. Nice level pads with full hookup. Awesome pool area. Great place to ride bikes. Accessible to many of Michigan’s tourist areas (2.25 hours to Frankenmuth, Dearborn). Close to Kalamazoo in Grand Rapids for dining and shopping. Absolutely a beautiful property.

We’ve made several visits in the last five years, and it has changed greatly since last year…and not for the better. Seasonal sites have taken over the park and we occasional campers are being left out. The cabins have always been great for our friends/family that don’t own RV’s, now they’ve let them go and rumored they will no longer be renting but selling!! Internet is non existent! Unusable! Cable was down so no TV, Pool was down 2 days because of a adult using it as a bathroom! Bounce pillow has a hole that was down. Splash pad has issues they fixed with ropes and cones.
They serve breakfast (but open at 10!?)
Food is just OK, most is microwave cooked. We pay a premium nightly rate for amenities that were bad or unusable.
Now staff is very kind and helpful, we’ve met the nicest people over the years! bathrooms are spotless, the surrounding area is really lovely. I’m sorry to see the changes, was a fun family place at one time. I understand seasonal is secured money but it’s now becoming a community VS a RV park open to all. Please consider keeping Cabins and sites open to all!

Very disappointed that there is only one pool. Too crowed especially with all the large floats that are allowed. We realize that kids need to have fun but they are allowed to jump in and out near people in the pool and the parents say nothing and there is no staff member in the pool area to monitor. Also the splash pad continues to be unsafe and we were told that it would be fixed next year. Don't mind paying what is charged but everything should be in great working order for guests to enjoy.

Hi Cathy, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We have a lot of good news for this summer. Our splash pad will be repaired by Memorial Day so our guests can have a safe place to cool off when the warm weather comes. We have employed a pool attendant for the season to help with rule enforcement and safety. And we got a new fleet of boats for our lake last summer, which should help with some of the congestion in the pool area as guests have several options for water-based fun. We're looking forward to a great summer!

Decent campground while it lasted. Was told that this is the last year they allow camping here. It's going to be a members only trailer-park from here out. Can't imagine anyone wanting to stay here more than a few days in a row, so a fullt time trailer park seems a stretch.

If you are looking for a "QUIET" place to camp this is "NOT" the place to do it anymore. Before this RV park was known it was a wonderful place, but now it is nothing more than a "YOGI BEAR" park as far as I'm concerned. It use to be that they would keep all of the older campers and pop ups out, but know they let anyone in. People come here with their kids and before they are parked the kids are riding bikes, scooters and just about every other type of transportation around the park and not paying one bit of attention. EVERYTHING this park does is kid driven and to hell with the older people and seasonal people. Every improvement they have done for the past 2 years has benefited the kids and nothing for the grown ups. They were going to install a "ADULTS" only pool, but that will only happen when ice is 10' thick in hell. We were seasonal people here for 6 years and were so sick and tired of all the kids, noise, and everything else we decided to leave. The seasonal rates are getting outrageous and we found a lot nicer RV resort up north that we own. Sun communities is money driven and could care less what the 55+ and older people care about. If you are a young family and want to let your kids run wild and have fun and not have to worry one bit about them, then this is the place for you.

Sure the grounds are well maintained. But let me start with the ridiculous packet of rules and legal waivers (yeah. Legal waivers! Like you can't hold them responsible for anything that may happen while you're here) they give you when you check in. Pages. Pages of silly rules like your RV can't be more than 10 years old (gasp! It might make us cringe) and no one under 13 can use the hot tub and no one under 16 on holidays! (don't even try to get around this one. The cranky old men who like to wallow in it for hours at a time and glare at your children will run and tattle on you) which is actually ok since the water has a greenish tint and there is a scum line that looks like it's been there for while. The electric posts and sewers are set up so that there is no way you can properly sit your RV and use both at a time unless you purchase extensions for one of the two. The "heated pool" is freezing and the wireless works half the time. Oh and did I mention there is no shaded spots? Look, I get it's a "resport", but I have been to way more rustic RV campgrounds that were welcoming, friendly, and just as beautiful. Just because we can afford to pay a little more doesn't mean we're pompous jerks like most of the people we've interacted with at this place. We will NEVER come back to this campground. It's nothing better than anywhere else we've been....they just seem to think they are. If you're going to call it a family friendly campground, try treating families like they're welcome and not some nuisance to the elderly who like to pretend they own the place.

Dear Joe-la-D, Thank you for the compliments on the grounds here at Hidden Ridge, we work very hard to maintain our resort! We are very sorry to hear that your stay with us did not meet your expectations. We do hand out one page of rules and regulations as part of our check-in process so that our guests stay informed during their stay with us – additional sheets that are handed out would include items such as a map of the resort and a list of activities for the week/weekend. Regarding the age limitations at the hot tub, these are put in place for the safety of our youngsters. It is recommended by medical professionals that children under the age of 13 should not use hot tubs due to the high temperatures, so we enforce this rule as a safety precaution. We apologize that the pool did not seem warm – we set the temperature at 82 degrees, which is monitored and maintained throughout the day to ensure the comfort and safety of our guests. We have also made enhancements to our wi-fi in early August for our guests’ enjoyment; it’s possible that you stayed before this could be completed and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We appreciate you taking the time to review our resort and value your feedback. Please feel free to contact the manager directly regarding this situation at (888) 892-0855 or info@hiddenridgerv.com. Sincerely, The Hidden Ridge Team

Well, first of all let me say that Hidden Ridge RV Resort is a very we'll kept facility with great sites and cement pads. My wife and I have stayed there off and on for several years-even considered getting a seasonal spot out there. They have activities for children too. The rates here are rather high. The internet is marginal at best.
There is the usual golf cart cruising as people go on the visiting circuit and also run up to the pool. When the park was just getting started, the pool was adequate for the guests. As more sites and more people started coming, the pool was crowded and the facilities in need to more pools to accommodate people.
What finally forced us to make a decision not to come back was when my wife and I were out in my favorite toy, a street legal Can Am Commander which is plated and road legal, and we decided to swing by and check for an open site for the coming weekend. One of the managers was outside by the front gate talking to an incoming camper and stopped us as we came through the gate - advising us that my licensed vehicle would not be permitted inside on the property. Never had a problem in any other State Park or RV Park before. Like a couple of middle aged people would use an expensive vehicle like this to tear up and around the property. He's telling me this while I'm watching adults and children zooming around on tricked out golf carts. I was incredulous. We haven't been back since. I even wrote the main company and only received as letter, blowing smoke up our butts, about how they would be re-evaluating their policy. Never heard back from them after that so I assume they are doing well enough that they don't need my money.
So, my rating is for good grounds and pads, inadequate pool facilities and inadequate internet, and based on my run in with an inflexible management - POOR. Management and their interaction with the guests can make or break a business. For us, it broke my desire to do business with them again

Beautiful campground and facilities. Very close to nice places to visit. My own kids ages 9 and 12 were disappointed with the many restrictions. They could not use their ripsticks and were so excited to do so when they saw the nice paved streets online. Within an hour of being here and before we read the rules my 12 year old came back telling me some lady yelled at him for using it. Not a nice first impression. It’s ok for people to drive quickly around the park in golf carts but my kids could not use them around my site with their helmets on. I even saw three kids across the street using them in a respectful manner and were told by security they could not use them. Kids can be just as dangerous on bikes. My 12 year old was also disappointed he couldn’t use the hot tub either with me in it. They had a hawk worker watching every kids’ move in the pool. I’m a teacher and very mindful of how my kids behave but even I felt like they not dare go off the pavement at this place. I realize many people do not watch their kids but there are responsible kids who understand how to be safe. $1 a day to use the jump pad!? $5 to rent a boat? Paying to play corn hole?!? Seriously when you are paying $60+ a day to camp here those things should be included. There are a lot of seasonal sites and many older people. Not as kid friendly as we like.

Hi Laura, Thank you for taking the time our to share your feedback with us. We're sorry to hear of your children's experience with the rip-sticks. However, we can never be too safe with the children in the pool. Safety is priority to us, we understand that a great amount of parents keep an eye on their children but, it's imperative that we have a second set of eyes. We appreciate your suggestion in regards to some of the amenities being inclusive, we'll reflect on that. If you would like a followup conversation, please respond to the message in your inbox with a good phone number or email address to contact you on. Thank you choosing Hidden Ridge! Take care.

Answer from Laura N

Hi yes they do not allow kids to ride anything without brakes so no rollerblades, skateboards, or rip sticks. They did charge for the bounce pillow, boats, and for other things such as corn hole and ping pong. I felt it was for older people although there were families there and they had a couple of activities. You must be 14 to go in hot tub and my 12 year old was disappointed. There are many seasonal sites and it’s well manicured, but felt less family friendly than I had hoped. It’s also close to casino and a 45 min drive to Lake Michigan. There is another campground that is higher end I have not been to but looks more kid friendly called River Ridge Resort here in Michigan. We had friends go there who said it was nice. They have restrictions listed on website. Hope that helps! Sorry for the delayed response. Good luck!!!
