We just returned from our family vocation in Holland, MI. The Beach House at Lake Street is a beautiful place ( inside and out) . It is clean and organized. The location is great- walking distance from the beach and close to restaurants, entertainments, a grocery store and down town. We spent a day at Nelis’ Dutch Village and it was so nice to relax around the pool/ hot tub area after that. We definitely will revisit the Beach House at Lake Street in the future. -Pavlina B.
Fabulous location and facility for our family vacation. Our unit was very clean, well stocked and had a great layout. It was conveniently located and had excellent amenities including optional rental equipment for the beach and supplies for children. Quinn does an amazing job as property manager and was extremely helpful. We look forward to future visits.
On our arrival we were pleasantly happy to find our accommodations were so clean and beautiful. We were staying with 2 small children and they decided on the ground floor bedroom. This was a good choice because one of the girls awoke with a nightmare and the rest of us who were on the top floor heard nothing. It was very easy to find and located near all of our destinations, but still in a nice quiet neighborhood. We would definitely stay there again.
We enjoyed a long weekend in December and loved this location even in the winter. We took walks and enjoyed seeing Big Red Lighthouse surrounded by big winter waves. We especially loved the floor plan. With 4 floors, we enjoyed making meals, baking Christmas cookies and gathering together, however, we still had plenty of room to spread out. The kids loved the cozy and fun 4th floor loft. This is the perfect property to make great family memories year round!
We had the crappiest weather the week we stayed at the Beach House from freezing rain to sleet to snow but that didn’t dampen our experience. The house was amazing! The location was perfect! Holland, MI is a wonderful place to visit!
What a wonderful experience we had at the Beach House! Our condo far exceeded our expectations, fully equipped with everything we needed and more. The condo was immaculate. Shout out to the housekeeping staff as they pay close attention to all the details in the condo as well as the pool and grounds. The location was perfect to the beach to enjoy the beautiful Lake Michigan sunsets, area restaurants, downtown and shopping. We also enjoyed traveling to neighboring towns (Grand Haven and Saugatuck) as well during our stay. We loved everything about our stay and hope to stay here again sometime.
I cannot say enough about this little corner of paradise ... two hours away from Bloomfield area and we were there ! Not only is the property immaculate inside and out ... the area has everything you would want in an up north michigan feel without the traffic and the long drive ... we had a blast !! Cannot wait to go back ...MIMI AND DEE ...
If I could give the Beach House 10 stars I would. Exceeded our expectations. This was our last visit to Holland as Hope College parents and we wanted to stay some place special for a couple extra days to celebrate my daughters graduation. First, the location is awesome. Across the street from a Lake Macatawa access (our balcony had a lake view) and down the street from the Holland State Park Lake Michigan Beach (perfect to watch the sun set). We also hiked Mt. Pisgah a couple of days (just down the street too). We stayed in the Newport (sleeps 8, 4 in beds, 4 in sofa beds). We loved the unit from the decor to the multi level layout and fully stocked kitchen. If someone in your party has trouble with stairs I might pick a unit that has an additional first floor kitchen/bar. There is a jet tub in the master bath and a private patio with a grill off the back of the first floor bedroom. There is also an outdoor grill with patio table seating right off the pool deck for entertaining. The salt water pool and hot tub (mostly the hot tub) was my fav, especially after climbing all those stairs at Mt Pisgah. 8 minutes to downtown Holland and 20 minutes to Saugatuck. Just down the street was a kayak and paddle board rental place. Additionally you get privileges at the Macatawa Golf Club which was very nice. It was worth every penny and we hope to go back again!…
When our plans to fly for Spring Break were cancelled due to a medical problem, I was anxious to still have some family time together. We booked the last condo available and found it to be PERFECT for my family of five plus two grandparents. They slept in the 1st floor bedroom while my 5 split the 2 bedrooms upstairs. We loved sharing the living space while still having some privacy. The Charleston was decorated beautifully, clean and well kept. There were plenty of parking spots and quick access to Holland State Park and the beautiful overlook at Mount Pisgah. We spent time in both Holland and Grand Rapids. I only wish it had been pool season so we could enjoy outdoor time right at the Beach House!
Pros: - Custom-built condo with a lake view (so romantic from 3rd floor) - Best view of any resort we've had in 20 years - So close to a gazillion restaurants (take-out in Covid was plentiful and delicious) - Kudos to the Crazy Horse Saloon for homemade rolls, good steak, delicious Texas Sticks - Quinn, the receptionist, was determined to make our visit the best - Clean, clean, CLEAN - Not a mark on the walls or door trim - that's almost impossible! - Many more handy items than most gold-level resorts: hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, DAWN as opposed to Palmolive for those greasy pots and pans, pods for clothes and dishwasher, glass cleaner. - Lots of dishes, hand tools. I cook most of the meals, and I never had to call for anything additional. That's a first! - Decent pots to cook in. Not the paper-thin ones so prevalent at resorts. - Didn't even have to bring my own chef's knives - theirs are Viking! - We enjoyed cc skiing 20 minutes away for only $8/person rentals! - Bannonsburg Ski Resort for snowtubing! - Long walks on the frozen waterfront - but bring good hiking boots (broke my wrist falling on ice) - Holland and Grand Haven shops are delightful - Every unit has its own detached garage. Too small for our big truck, but would be fine for a sedan or small SUV - Wet bar on the first floor and in the master suite! - Waterfall shower - 2.5 bathrooms - no waiting if you're a family! - My favorite part: reclining in the comfy (and quite beautifully upholstered!) reading chair/ottoman in the master suite, right in front of the big wall of windows. Watching the water, napping, sipping a glass of wine, reading... Could have done this the entire week! Con (just two!) If you have weak, elderly knees, these steps may not be for you. One flight up to the kitchen. Two flights to the master suite. Three flights to a teeny tiny bonus room with 3 built-in twin beds, a skylight, and cute wall-mounted reading lights for young children (this nautical bonus attic has no door, barely a floor! - it's supposed to be very open to the master/parents' room on the 3rd floor) If your kids are too small for steps, bring lots of baby gates. Second con: now that everyone's read this, I'll probably never be able to snag another week here! LOL …
