Detailed Reviews
We were thrilled with our stay at Teerman Lofts. Our weekend getaway was so convenient being right in the midst of downtown Holland. Our shopping and dining options were within walking distance. We were able to sightsee the movement of the. town all while sitting in a comfy swivel rocker in our suite looking over 8th street. The massive windows, leaded beveled glass accent let in tons of natural light and the high ceilings made our space spectacular. We enjoyed having a full kitchen and living room when our kids from the area came to visit. Lots of room for everyone. Teerman lofts thinks of everything from a ful laundry suite available to guests, convenient check in and check out procedures and an easy access to the owners who are very attentive with any questions or concerns. We will be staying at Teerman Lofts again. Thank you Jeff and Barb Teerman for such a wonderful stay!

Teerman Lofts is our absolute favorite place to go when we need a couples weekend getaway. Literally located in the middle of downtown Holland within blocks from every shop. If you buy something and need to drop it off, or need a quick rest stop, your loft is waiting for you just steps away. The lofts themselves are impeccably detailed, immaculate, private, and fully stocked with upscale dishes and cutlery. This year we stayed in Erie, which offers a huge picture window overlooking downtown. If you want to stay in Holland, don't look anywhere else than Teerman!

The room is very spacious and with the separate living and bedroom space you can relax during the day without feeling cramped. The view is nice and you can people watch since it is right downtown. The location is right in the middle of downtown, we were able to walk everywhere and pop back to the room to cool off a bit after slightly longer walks, like to windmill island. There is a ton to do in the area, so having the loft space to relax in the evening is great. The full kitchen allowed us to enjoy our farmers market buys and not have to eat every meal at a restaurant. The only thing I would mention as a possible negative is because the space is converted it is a bit loud in the bedroom. Everything sort of echos and if someone is in the other room, you can hear every noise. If you are a light sleeper, may want to consider earplugs but if not, you are probably fine. We had a great time and would book again.

We chose the Teerman Lofts because we wanted to have a downtown location with kitchen facilities. This lodging met our needs perfectly! The kitchen is beautiful and stocked with new major appliances, as well as everything else: drip coffee maker, cutting board & knifes, pots/pans, utensils for cooking, etc. Note that except for the coffee, you should bring your own cooking ingredients. There is plentiful pantry storage space and a side-by-side refrigerator. The hosts thoughtfully provide a small recycling container.
We stayed in the Ontario Loft on the third floor facing 9th Street. We welcomed the 50+ steps up to the loft for the exercise and appreciated the quiet of being on the top floor facing away from the activity of 8th Street. We only heard our neighbors in Superior Loft as they arrived because the two lodgings share a small landing space for our entry doors. The closet spaces were huge, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom had ample supplies. All were exceptionally clean.
Although it wasn't a problem for us, anyone with balance issues should know that the floors of our lodging were not completely level in the bathroom. This means you have to be mindful as you step in/out of the bathtub. Also, the bathtub has a slippery floor surface, and there is no grab bar to help as one steps in/out. To remedy this situation, I used a simple solution my late mother taught me: I put a towel down in the tub to create a non-skid surface.
Finally, parking was never a problem, and check in/check out was easy and clear in the instructions we received 24 hours before arrival and in an envelope upon arrival. We would be happy to stay here again!

Our go-to when visiting family in the Holland area. Lofts are well appointed with a fully stocked kitchen (dishes, silverware, pots & pans, toaster, coffee maker & coffee). We love the location - close to anything you could want - shopping, restaurants, brew pubs, ice cream & an incredible farmer's market on Saturday morning. The Owners respond almost immediately to any questions or requests. Until next year......

Our children have fond memories of time spent in Holland when they were growing up as we had family members living here and wanted a chance to revisit their past as well as introduce our grandkids to some of their favorite haunts. Teerman Lofts was the perfect home base for our family. The four units on the second floor were well equipped and comfortable for our group of 8, and the location couldn't be beat as you're in the heart of downtown. The access to a washer and dryer was greatly appreciated after a day at the beach. Yes, the stairs might be an issue for some, but we appreciated the exercise after the great meals we enjoyed. We hope to return and continue to make new memories for our family and would definitely stay here again.

This updated attractive loft is spacious and very clean with a nice view of downtown Holland. Being in an older historic building, we didn't hear neighbors in the other lofts. The kitchen was stocked with the right cookware and the bed was comfortable with quality linens. There are several washer/dryers for renters if needed. We enjoyed walking to the restaurants, theaters and nice shops on 8th Street. The owners take a lot of pride in offering a great alternative to hotels.

We were in Holland for a week vacation and based on Trip Advisor reviews, we booked a room at Teerman Lofts. (We booked the Huron room). We had bicycles with us and the owner Jeff was very helpful in making arrangements for us to secure our bicycles in the adjacent building. Jeff even helped with retrieving our bicycles when we checked out. He was always responsive with communication and we really felt that personal and kind attention from him.
Parking and check-in is a breeze. Both entrances to the loft building are secured, and of course each room is secured with a key card. The Huron loft was actually more attractive than what we expected from the photos. It is a beautifully repurposed building with many amenities and conveniences. The loft is spacious and the full, well stocked kitchen with modern appliances is a nice option to have, even though there are abundant restaurant options within walking distance. The Huron loft was extremely quiet during our stay. The only two notes to be aware is there are stairs and no elevators (as described on the website), and the windows in the Huron are high, so the only view is the sky (which some may prefer). There is a complimentary shared laundry with two nice washers and two dryers that was on the 2nd floor, and we were able to easily do laundry during our stay.
The location is in the heart of the shopping and dining district, and an easy walk to the boardwalk along Lake Macatawa. The Farmers Market at the end of Eighth Street on Saturdays is not to be missed. Without a doubt the largest and best Farmers Market we have experienced. Within close proximity to the hotel, we enjoyed breakfast at The Windmill (a throwback diner) and Bowerman’s. Hops and The Curragh were our favorites for lunch and dinner. There are many other dining options in the area, and Boatwerks with a beautiful view of Lake Macatawa was within a reasonable walk. (On the North side of Lake Macatawa - a short drive from Teerman Lofts, DeBoers is not to be missed for breakfast and bake goods, and the Beechwood Grill and The Reservoir were also very good for lunch or dinner.)
We enjoyed our stay at the unique Teerman Lofts and will definitely return on our next visit to Holland.

The Teerman Lofts offer a set of roomy, modern, well-appointed rooms in an historic building in the heart of downtown Holland MI. The hosts have thought of every need in their furnishings and supplies, the quiet rooms sit above popular 8th Ave. and the location is steps from restaurants and shopping, just minutes from local beaches. My wife and I have been vacationing in the Holland-Saugatuck region every year for the past decade and we’ve rented rooms in a half dozen locations, but Teerman is by far our favorite. We are coming back next summer for sure,

This room was far better than our expectations, even after reading so many reviews. The room we stayed in was extremely spacious, VERY clean (and my wife and I are pretty picky about that), had all of the amenities we needed for a quick retreat, and was in a perfect spot downtown; right in the heart of it all. No issues with parking, very easy check-in/out process. We will be coming back.
Two points to keep in mind:
- No elevator. This was noted in other reviews, but it's still important to keep in mind. Make sure to keep your luggage/things to an optimal weight for carrying up/down stairs.
- No bikes in the rooms. Not an issue at all, we just didn't know that ahead of time. We contacted Jeff per the instructions provided in the room and he gave us access to store our bikes in the basement overnight.

Yes, the loft we stayed in had one very very nice bathroom. These are all set up like separate, upscale apartments.
Thank you for your interest in the Teerman Lofts!
While we love animals, we do not allow any animals at the Lofts.
