When we planned a trip to Michigan's "Thumb area" we chose to stay at the State Street Inn B&B in Harbor Beach. John (our host) greeted us at the front door. Based on our comments on why we were in town, he offered suggestions on places to eat and things to do. We stayed in the Victoriana Room. The room... More

Well, I found myself lucky once again. I signed up to attend a night photography workshop that was going to be held at the Pointe Aux Barques Lighthouse County Park on a recent Saturday evening. I originally planned to just make it a day trip from the Western Wayne County area, but decided on the Thursday before to spend both... More

My wife and I had just suffered three days without electricity in extreme heat at our home in Toledo, OH. This was caused by a violent and sudden thunderstorm. Our vacation had been booked weeks in advance and as the days without power dragged on I was in cell phone contact with the owners to let them know we might... More

We travelled during December but though the weather was cold the hospitality was very warm. We received a confirmation Email advising us of the check-in times and children policy. Our host advised us on arrival not to wait too late for dinner as small town restaurants close early. We took their advice and ate at one of the places they... More

The room was very nice and clean. The TV was very small and outdated with a wide selection of VHS vidoes. We arrived at 7:30 pm and upon arrival the innkeeper was upset that we did not check in between 3-6pm and said he was in the process of giving our room away. I did not notice anyone beating the... I made a reservation on this B&B's website, but their child policy is not attached to the booking section. I thought it was worth noting so no one else booked and then received a cancellation email as I did. I'm glad I wrote that I would bring my own pack and play, or perhaps I wouldn't have known until my... More
