We always enjoy our visits at the Harbert House when visiting Berrien County. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the breakfast is above and beyond our expectations every time we come. We highly recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing, pampering weekend. Diane Dorner

Nancy is an excellent hostess. The house is very comfortable and clean. She takes great care in making sure the guests have the opportunity to meet each other during her wine happy hour and breakfast. She is helpful in dinner restaurant choices and things to see and do. The house is within a mile of beautiful Lake Michigan with a sandy quaint beach. We took the hike down there and walked the beach. Although we did not have time, there were a number of antique stores on the area. Overall a wonderful time.

My wife & I drove down for the weekend and decided to stay at Harbert House because of it's proximity to the Journeyman Distillery. We were pleasantly surprised by our accommodations and with our hosts. Our hosts, Nancy & David, were helpful with suggestions and knew how to provide the right amount of comfort. We stayed in the "Western" themed room. It was clean, contemporary, and the bathroom looked to be newly renovated. There was popular a Cafe within walking distance and all the local landmarks (Greenbush Brewery, Journeyman Distillery, Skip's Farmers Market) were within biking distance. It also worthy of mention that Nancy's breakfasts are delicious, fresh and unique. Morning #1: Dutch baby with farm fresh berries, pork sausage skewers. Morning #2: Farm fresh omelette with bacon wrapped asparagus and cut mango. Also each morning Nancy provided homemade muffins or coffee cake. At any rate, staying at the Harbert House was great. We are happy to have found this place and look forward to returning this summer and over the fall. I strongly recommend for all travelers.

We were looking for a B&B overnight stay for our short visit to Harbor Country and chose Harbert House mainly due to location and the fact that Nancy , the proprietor, was very accommodating to our needs. I was travelling with my wife, daughter and granddaughter of 11 months and although young babies are not normally on the guest list, Nancy made us feel very welcome. The larger of the available rooms had two double beds and plenty room for a pack and play for the wee one. The house is very spacious with a large, comfortable communal room. Our room was very well decorated with a large, modern bathroom with good shower. Nancy offers wine and tasty hors d'oeuervs every evening which is a nice touch. The lake is either a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk. The immediate area does not offer too much but there is plenty of variety of restaurants within a 15 minute drive. The Warren Dunes State Park is a 10 minute drive. The railway line is close by which can occasionally disturb the peace and quiet but on a very infrequent basis. Overall a very pleasant experience in a B&B run by a thoughtful and considerate proprietor.

Food was delicious, home itself was wonderful. I'm an early riser and would've appreciated coffee earlier than 9. Suggest a Keurig available? We weren't aware the room wouldn't be freshened daily. No clean towels or bed made daily? We stay in B & B's regularly and have never encountered this. After the second day I did ask for clean towels and did get some for the next day. Room was nice but very warm the first evening, they did turn the air on the next day. Hesitant to leave a negative review but we base our selections on reviews and feel guests should be aware.
