This is a beautiful park right on Lake Superior. We had a great spot (#114) with lots of shade. The first spot they assigned us (#134) was sloped and we would have had a hard time getting level. Fortunately, they had one available spot and let us move. The campsites are electric only (that’s the only reason I gave it 4 stars), but they had a fresh water filling station and dump station, which are very easy to use. The bathrooms and showers are very clean and private. There are great trails for walking or biking. The beach portion (which does not allow dogs) is a pretty good distance from the campground.

This is a beautiful State park right on lake Superior. Large campsites with nice picnic tables and fire pits. As with most municipal parks, water and electric is all you get, but there is a nice dump station. There is a great swimming area as well as a playground. There are only a few pull-thrus, but there is plenty of room to maneuver when backing in. We would definitely stay here again!

We were able to get a campsite on the lake and could set up our chairs to watch the boats. The campsites are spaced a little better than most Michigan state parks. They are spread out in a line so you don't have people backed up to you. The employee who helped us purchase an extension cord at the camp store was very friendly.

Let me 1st say the view of Lake Superior is superb. The camp site we got was #12 though, and I can honestly say it was the worst site I have ever had camping anywhere. The DNR website said it was level. Uh... no. The ONLY thing level on the entire site was the fire pit. I strongly advise anyone making reservations here, that you avoid the sites on the side of the road away from the lake. They all looked bad and judging from the complaints of my neighbors on both sides, those sites are not good ie: not level and lots of tree roots and stumps made tent camping very difficult. Otherwise the park was ok. Bathrooms were clean though there was only one bath house, and it was closed from 12 noon to 2:30pm every day, otherwise there are out houses (yuck); personnel were pleasant enough. The beach was beautiful with tons of driftwood everywhere. There is a playground too. The RV park was stark in that there were almost no trees between sites that were completely paved. Driving through made me feel like they were all on display, and I can only say I would not have liked that very much. (Yuck again.) The camp store was closed for the season, and we were there from 9/18/20 to 9/23/20 although firewood was available at the bath house for $5 a bundle 24/7. I would have given more stars if I could have slept on a level site but it irks me that the DNR description was so far from the truth so, buyer beware.

This campground is for people who don't need much privacy and appreciate camping on a concrete slab. The shower facility was amazing, clean. We appreciated that there was a dog beach. We met many friendly fellow campers. As many photos show, the lake view is gorgeous. For us, it was a good place to camp for one night, but we definitely wouldn't make it a destination in and of itself. I should also note that we were able to get a few channels on our TV, which was nice!

We were impressed with the size of the lots. They are long enough to park your TT and truck without blocking the road while unhitching/hitching. The bathrooms and showers are clean. Lots of trees. Peaceful. Campground sits on Lake Superior. Great place for swimming and beach combing.

Excellent site (#4), shaded, relatively flat. Altho it was across the camp road we could see the lake just fine, even with a camper across the way. Clean, mellow park even tho it was full. Will visit again! Sunset was lovely. Trails, some areas accessible.

My wife and I stayed in the Cedars cabin. It was wonderful with great weather. Can't wait to do this again. The whole area is spectacular and beautiful. Park is very clean and cared for. We are already talking and planning a trip back.

It’s off peak so my friend just phoned in for reservation. Stayed in a mini cabin fronting Lake Superior. The staff was kind enough to warm it up prior to our arrival. Had a very pleasant stay. Few visitors at this time. For the nature trip and the splendid sunset that comes with a double bunk bed with mattresses, heaters, fridge, stove, table, chairs, picnic table, grill and a fire ring, at less than 40USD off-peak with an MI Recreation Passport is cheap. Will definitely recommend.
