Our room was clean and open with stark furnishings. We loved the location of this hotel as we could walk most anywhere to find shops, restaurants and museums. We did have a few glitches in our stay but the hotel manager made sure we were...More
The hotel is different. We had an event here and the rooms were hot and a little dark (Felt like being in parents basement). The ballroom where we held the main event was awesome and be great for any affair. The breakfast food i had...More
First, I have to admit that I was really tired when I arrived at the City Flats Hotel in Grand Rapids. I also got there too early to get a room and my weariness made that even worse.

Wonderful location. Clean, sleek, minimalist design. Very quiet even though right downtown. Super comfy beds! Staff very nice, coffee available in lobby. Did not eat there. Parking in adjacent lot additional cost, but worth the price.

I'm pretty they are (although I advise you to check directly), however, overall I'd say the vibe is definitely more urban/hip than family-oriented. The hotel lobby itself is super small and features a bar and a few cafe-like tables. Although City Flats dubs themselves as a "luxury hotel," our experience rendered that claim dubious.
My daughter and I walked around downtown one morning and went into Amway Grand Plaza Hotel lobby, which was quite impressive (and old school).
