Tucked right into the city scape of Grand Rapid is this clean posh hotel with a Kimpton feel to it. Spacious rooms with some unique features that made it worth the extra bucks more than the competitor's in town. Need a better parking area though and this place would be a 5 star for sure.

3rd time staying here over last 5 years. It’s seemed to have lost some luster. A bit of confusion at front desk during check in for a simple one night reservation stay for downtown attractions for us. No parking ramp validation which is fine but would be nice. The room was decent. Not expecting anything amazing for a simple king basic room. At first thought their was no bathroom door until we realized it was a slider that was pretty loose and worn in. The bed felt like a futon to me but my wife said it wasn’t that bad. All in all I suppose you pay for location which is prime. Middle of downtown and great restaurants and bars, venues and attractions all within short walks.

Wow this was a great place to eat with affordable prices. We had lunch here and it was tremendous. I had the pull pork sandwich with coleslaw and it was outstanding. If your ever in that area I highly recommend this little restaurant.

If you want the classic Holiday Inn Express with free breakfast don’t stay here. If you have never been to a big city and stayed in a hotel there, you may not appreciate the stylings. The room was roomy enough. The bathroom and shower was very nice. Although I thought the bed would be too soft I actually slept very well. Some people have commented on the parking as too expensive or confusing but we found it to be neither. We paid $16 for the night and it was a well marked and short walk to the hotel. If you’re looking for a different hotel experience in downtown GR try CityFlats. We stayed here for a concert where we wanted to be within walking distance of everything. This was the perfect spot.

My husband and I chose this hotel for its proximity to Van Andel arena and other great sites in the area. Because of this, the price is on the higher side, however, the charm of this place and its location make it worthwhile. We got upgraded and were put into a suite due to a booking error. We were pleasantly surprised. The cork floors are a nice touch on the feet. I’m not sure I’ve ever had a more comfortable sleep; the mattress was divine. Other reviewers were complaining about not being able to turn on or off their lights except for one major switch, but that is the master switch and all you have to do is make sure that is on or off before using the others and there won’t be a problem. The CitySen restobar downstairs is a great place to dine, have a drink, or socialize before an event. Special thanks to Jordan (Jordy?) whose helpfulness added to our experience. Note: there is no on-site parking, but there’s a parking garage attached to the hotel at approximately $25 a night.
