This place is like a Four Seasons for hipsters. Exposed cement, open concept, lots of emphasis on being green, that kind of thing. The rooms in the "new" area (where I stayed) are massive, and funky. It truly feels more like a decently-sized apartment than a hotel room. Except that, it's an unfurnished apartment that you just moved in to.... More

The bed is AWESOME and they have the most comfortable blanket ever. The room is very dark, no light coming thru the blinds. I didn't have a great first impression because the reception lady wasn't overly friendly but the bar staff and day shift reception was great. The room was super clean as well. Their parking is around the block... More

Upon check-in we were greeted in the lobby by a wonderful staff. Offered free coffee, and explain that if we would like coffee would be delivered to our door free of charge in the morning. First surprise. Upon entering our room fresh fruit, and home made granola bars awaited us. I was a little surprised by no carpeting but then... More

I was recently in GR to attend to my sister who had been ill. I needed a hotel close to her rehab and selected City Flats. From the moment I called to enquire (website is a little funky) about rooms I was sold. Jason went out of his way to assist me in selecting room. Hotel is in a great... More

This hotel was very modern and had a great location. The staff was friendly but seemed really unorganized. When checking in the employee said please have a seat and I'll see if your room Is ready. After waiting for a half hour, I had to get back in line and she still hadn't checked to see if the room was... More

We really enjoyed our brief stay at City Flats Hotel. Check in was quick and simple, and the staff very friendly. We enjoyed the modern accommodations, especially the super comfy bed. The bathroom has a sliding door which looks really cool, but affords little privacy. There are many restaurants and bars withing walking distance - we loved Hop Cat. The... More

I stayed at CityFlats hotel for a weekend and was, overall, satisfied with the space. Pros: Good location in Grand Rapids for pretty much any of your downtown needs-- close to the best restaurants, coffee shops, and bars in the city. Parking is in a structure that is connected to the hotel, which is expensive but safe and mostly convenient.... More

First time in town on a business trip. Basic restaurant and basic rooms. Lighting in rooms is strange and indirect. Huge shower. Had hot water in toilet! Lighting not good for shaving. Big time TV connections. Small clothes closet. Bed was comfortable but I sensed it's time for a new mattress. Top floor is way too bright for breakfast as... More

The venue at City Flats for the wedding was extraordinary!! The hotel was ok. Parking for both was atrocious!!!! We stayed the night before the wedding and the night after. The hotel was clean but somewhat difficult to get traverse. The parking situation was HORRIBLE!! My 83 year old mother also stayed and it was very difficult for her. She... More

Great city location, friendly staff, affordable rate--yes! Easy walking to restaurants, cafes, museums, etc. We arrived late and the woman at the front desk helpfully recommended a gem of a wine bar a few blocks away. Bed was super comfortable. For the holiday weekend, rates were a lot lower than other what we thought were similar properties (170s vs 300s).... More
