This was our second stay at the Leonard at Logan. It never disappoints. There is plenty of free on-street parking and the inn is located in the beautiful Heritage Hill historic district which is enjoyable to walk and drive through. The inn is in a grand 100+ year old home which is a treat in itself. We spent a few nights in the Sir Charles room which was clean, comfortable and spacious. The breakfasts were delicious and among the best I've had at any bed and breakfast inn. The innkeepers are welcoming. The location is very convenient to downtown and a block away from Frank Lloyd Wright's Meyer May House. The Meyer May House is owned by Steelcase (office furniture company), excellently restored and available for free tours.
We had a very enjoyable experience at The Leonard at Logan House. We were greeted warmly and offered a tour of the house and the amenities provided. Our room was lovely, comfortable, and very well appointed. Our host offered suggestions for dinner, and we enjoyed a nice meal out. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. I would recommend to anyone traveling through Grand Rapids that a stay at this B&B is a must!
I can not say enough about the attention to detail that Ken and Ruth offer. Ruth does an outstanding job on her breakfast preparation. You will not be hungry until dinner after her wonderful buffet breakfast. They have an area where they keep beverages and snacks 24/7 and another area with fresh baked goods. We stayed in the Grand Duke bedroom which was the original master bedroom and it will not disappoint.
Our stay at the Leonard at Logan House B&B was very comfortable. Our room was a great size with a nice firm bed. The common areas are very clean and well decorated. The breakfast was AMAZING, as were the snacks that were set out throughout the day. Can't wait to come back!
In over 35 years of traveling and staying primarily at B&B properties, we'd put The Leonard among our top five. In addition to their delicious and varied breakfast buffet, Ken & Ruth offer possibly the most extensive guest pantry area that we've experienced. They also have 2-3 afternoon/evening treats nicely presented in the dining area. Our room was clean & comfortable. The neighborhood (within walking distance) is very diverse - economically, ethnically and lifestyle. Interesting dining and retail are also within walking distance.
