My friend and I stayed at Looking Glass B&B in October, 2021. It was the beginning of our driving trip through Michigan, and staying there was the very best way to begin our travels! Brian was very responsive when we reached out to him, describing the available rooms, the nearby local restaurants and activities, and answering all of our questions. He also gave more details about the location of the Inn, which is across the road from the beachfront, on top of a hill. There are steps outside leading up to the Inn, as well as a unique, fun trolley that holds suitcases and people, then travels up on a small track to the top of the hill and the B&B, or back down to the parking area. We found it charming and easy to use, but this is not the place for someone with disabilities or challenges with mobility, since the rooms above can only be reached via stairs—there’s no elevator in the B&B. Our rooms were great! We stayed in the Dunegrass Family Room. My friend was in the main room, while I stayed in the loft room, and we both used the connecting bathroom. Our beds were very comfortable. I fell in love with my room “under the eaves”—it reminded me of Anne of Green Gables! (I’m short, so it worked out perfectly.) The bathroom was beautifully updated, and the rooms were quiet. Brian was gracious and hospitable, working to make our stay perfect, and his breakfasts and coffee were delicious! We enjoyed the spacious deck that looked out on the beach, and met interesting guests, including one who stays there every year. We also felt safe with the covid safety protocols in place. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. It was a great find!

Stayed 5 nights in the Dunegrass room- perfect room for families, with a very cool room for the kids. Great breakfast every morning, great location (literally across the street from the beach), great deck overlooking the water, and plenty of beach stuff you can borrow. Would highly recommend. Brian does a great job and you truly feel like the house is yours.

We really love Looking Glass Beachfront Inn. The house is very spacious and has phenomenal views of not only the lake and beach but also of the pier and lighthouse. Brian is very accommodating of dietary needs and cooks wonderful breakfasts each morning for their guests. We have stayed two separate occasions at Looking Glass and our rooms have always been very clean and comfortable. You can tell Brian and his wife take a lot of pride in providing a comfortable stay. They are awesome at networking with local vendors and stores. Their location couldn’t be any better. They are directly across the street from the Grand Haven public beach and only a mile from downtown. Brian and his wife also offer beach towels and chairs for their guests to use. We will definitely be coming back for many years to come.
