Stanley House was recommended to me by a friend. The restaurant itself is really lovely and great attention has been given to decor. The view of the gardens is beautiful. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent and freshly cooked. My only criticism would be that the portions were very small.

Booked the twilight spa experience for a group of 4 of us celebrating a birthday. For a "Spa experience" at £40 for 2 hours you would expect a proper spa experience. Positives: It was nice to have tea and coffee complimentary in the relaxation lounge, a lot of spas just offer fruit tea. Also the addition of a little snack...

My daughter surprised me with an overnight stay at this wonderful hotel and Spa. I have been under a bit of stress recently ( I know alot of people are in the same position) and my kind and thoughtful daughter surprised me with this treat. We had the most wonderful time. The spa was very relaxing and the evening meal...

We booked our overnight stay as we were attending a wedding. The wedding and reception were superb, excellent food and service. As for our room it was fabulous think we were in room 9 in the manor house. The room was large and beautifully furnished. Great bathroom with a free standing bath etc. Breakfast was included in the price and...

Spent a gorgeous afternoon with lovely ladies enjoying an amazing assortment of finger sandwiches and more cakes than you could dream of. We even took some home with us in boxes. A nice touch. Great value at £20 pp for tea and cakes and £25 for the Prosecco afternoon tea. We had a beautiful day in beautiful surroundings with great...

Stayed overnight for a corporate event. We had a twin room in the Woodland block. I have to say this was one of the best sensibly priced rooms I've ever stayed in. The amount of space, the décor, bath and a walk-in shower, top drawer linen, great countryside view, oodles of parking, gardens very neat and prim. Good breakfast too....

I booked this as a special break for our first anniversary and my partner's birthday. Correspondence in the run up to visiting was good and there were even two cards in the room on arrival - a lovely touch. After having visited this hotel for over ten years however, I did note some areas which have sadly started to slip....

We had our 3rd visit to Stanley House and it was AMAZING. The first visit was equally as good, second visit, we did have a few issues but the Reception manager, Claire dealt with these issues promptly and so we decided to return. I genuinely love this hotel and spa. The spa was lovely and as in my last review,...

What a wonderful review, thank you so much. We are so pleased to hear that, after having a couple of issues on your last stay, we managed to make sure that everything was 'on point' during your stay this time, as it should be on every occasion. We can't wait to welcome you back to our hotel 'on the hill'!

This hotel remains a top class establishment with excellent large rooms in the Woodlands wing. Very comfortable double bed, large screen TV, extensive work desk with ample wall mounted sockets, free WiFi, tea making equipment (please offer mugs as well as cups for that important pre-breakfast drink) and the really good touch of fresh milk in the fridge. Also noted...

Came here with work for lunch we had a set meal as there was a lot of us we had soup for starters and it was too salty for me, we had chicken in white wine sauce with broccoli, carrot purée and dauphinois potatoes everything was nice except the dauphinois potatoes as they were salty too!
