Similar to another reviewer, we were driving home from the UP and couldn't find a room any closer to the Mackinac Bridge. After a long day of traveling, we decided a good night's sleep would be best before finishing the last leg of our trip. Upon entering the room, the first light we tried turning on didn't work, but there... More

July 22, 2016 This was the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at. The worst part was blood all dripped on side of the mattress (see pictures attached) The cost was $144 for one night. This was the first room we could find available after passing Mackinaw bridge going south. It was 1:00 in the morning or I would... More

A couple of years ago while heading to the Sault in December, I was caught in a blinding snowstorm and had to pull over in Gaylord. Believe it or not, there was no room at the Alpine Lodge due to a huge recreational Ski-Doo contingent staying there. In the middle of winter this place apparently does a brisk business with... We always stay one night on our way to our annual Michigan golf outing. The rates for 1 night in Mackinaw were way to high this year. We decide to drive farther south to Gaylord and picked Alpine Lodge for the rate and location. Location is great, accommodation were bad. The smell, broken ice machine, no ice bucket in room,... Filthy, that's all I can say about the room. Couldn't even find a power outlet for charging my phone in the room, had to unplug microwave... The only thing I liked was it's near gas stations , restaurants, and a supermarket.

The room smelled moldy and wet, the bathroom and shower were scary and I did not want to use them. While showering the water did not drain and came up to my ankles (fastest shower I've ever taken). We cancelled our second nights stay as soon as we arrived. Upon leaving the next morning we found a marijuana pipe with... More

No. Mold on the ceiling, room smelled like someone had died in it, also still had a lingering scent of 20-year-old cigarette smoke. Stains on the carpet, didn't care to look too closely at the bedding. I got out of there ASAP and decided it wasn't even worth fighting over the non-refundable room rate.

We booked a room at the Alpine in Gaylord because it was only 45 mins to the high priced upper mitt areas like Harbor Springs where we were headed for our Fourth of July family get together. What a gem!! It's has a nostalgic feel with a Mountain lodge decor, Alpine was everything we needed and wanted. Clean and family... More

Stopped in for fire oven pizza and was not disappointed. Best pizza and cheese bread in Northern Michigan. If your in town for a golf trip or camping stop in for pizza or get it to go! Staff was friendly and very helpful with details of the surrounding area.

It's tired. a group of us stayed here one night for the beginning a large musical festival in town last weekend. then went to play some golf. i crashed in a room my friend was staying in and we wouldn't go back. Not sure what this place is trying to be. It's definitely dated and in need of a serious... More
