We stayed two nights in room 1. The room was spacious and the bathroom more than adequate. The house was super quiet while we were there, almost like we were the only ones there (but we weren't). Breakfast was self serve and plentiful. We felt comfortable "making ourselves at home." Negatives: pillows were very flat (glad I brought my own)...

When entering the vestibule you see a frayed floor mat, dirty floor and baseboards. Not a good beginning. We were shown to the master suite in this impressive old home. It had a private bathroom. We stayed for two days while visiting my daughter in Allendale. We chose the Gerber Guest House because it was reasonable (rooms $75-$85), and the web site was very enticing. Upon arrival we were concerned becaused Jan met us and really seemed disinterested, and really didn't give us a tour of the house and where to park, and where to...

Historic sprawling home of the Gerber Baby Food family converted into guest house with numerous bedrooms with varying themes and layouts. Beautiful deck/patio and gardens with fountain. Quiet and clean, new owners Bill and Jan Ebert are very accomodating and quite good tour guides. TV's with cable and built-in DVDs. Large living room we didn't get to take advantage of,...
