This is a great quiet hotel right in the centre of everything! Staff was very friendly! I would definitely stay there again! Beds were very comfortable! We also loved the cocktail hour! They give you 2 free drinks, your choice of beer or wine!
My husband, small children, and I decided to visit Frankenmuth, Michigan for the first time. We made the decision to stay at the Marv Herzog Hotel based off of a Trip Advisor recommendation. This hotel did not disappoint…! The customer service was exceptional. David was the associate that checked us in. He was knowledgeable and friendly. He answered our questions and pointed us towards the right direction to get our trip started. Our room was on the third floor. There is three floors for rooms. Parking is free and underneath the hotel. Each room has a balcony. You can decide whether you want river view or street view. (Personally, we loved the river view balcony…!) The paddle boat tour goes by the hotel throughout the day. Our children loved waving at the passengers. Although there is not a pool or hot tub, there is a splash pad within walking distance at Memorial Park. The hotel offers a happy hour every evening. They serve a variety of wines and their own Pilsner. They also have charcuterie types of items— cheese, crackers, meat sausage, spiced pickles, etc. We really enjoyed sitting on the veranda and soaking up the view of the river. The other guests were pleasant and it was enjoyable to spark up conversation. Every morning, the hotel offers a free continental breakfast. It was very good! They had biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage patties, hard boiled eggs, and seasoned potatoes. You could make your own waffles there. They also had fruit, yogurt, granola, cereal, danishes, and muffins. Jennie kept it well maintained and offered friendly service. We would highly recommend this hotel. There is plenty to do in Frankenmuth. I could see a return visit in the future…!…
Stayed for three nights with my mom last week and really enjoyed our visit. Located right on the main street of attractions with everything in walking distance. The rooms were clean and the hotel staff were lovely. We enjoyed the cocktail hour and breakfast, as well as the back patio. Rooms are a bit dark and the door needs to be open to balcony in order to let in natural light (screens would be awesome) but it is an older hotel. There is underground parking available as well. Also to anyone traveling to Frankenmuth...be patient, absolutely everywhere we went was short staffed. Just go in with a good attitude as they are trying their very best. Birch Run outlets are 15 minutes away in one direction and Saginaw shopping is 20 minutes in the other direction (both very easy to get to). Bronner's Christmas market is less than 10 minutes away...it was amazing (world's largest Christmas store).…
This hotel is wonderful! Check in was a breeze. The room was much larger than I expected. It was clean, very comfortable and very quiet. We had a nice balcony overlooking the river- so relaxing and peaceful. We had a garden tub in our room- it was huge! I also liked the fact that the shower area has the soap, shampoo and conditioner in a dispenser on the wall. Small touches like this show me that they are trying to cut costs to keep their prices affordable without cutting the amenities. The hotel offers a small reception in the evening with complimentary drinks and snacks- cheese, sausage, vegetables. There is also a large outside patio where you can sit and relax overlooking the river. Breakfast was wonderful as well. I have an egg allergy that limits my breakfast choices considerably- but there was such a variety of items that I had no trouble finding something I could eat. The woman who serves the breakfast is absolutely charming. She is very attentive and makes you feel right at home. Every employee we came in contact with was helpful and friendly. The hotel is right on Main Street and almost everything is within walking distance. There is free parking under the hotel. With everything we planned on doing so close by, we didn't have to move our car once. This hotel was absolutely perfect for what we wanted- a nice quiet, relaxing getaway, with just enough luxury to feel special without breaking the bank. We will never stay anywhere else in Frankenmuth- they have made loyal customers out of us with this first stay!…
This is a great place to stay. It is clean & well maintained. There is a parking garage underneath the building. Shopping is within walking distance. There is a museum about Marv Herzog, a polka artist who is from Frankenmuth. The best is the evening beverages & snacks offered in the lobby during the evenings. There is also breakfast offered in the morning.
Great location with a very nice patio view of Cass River!!! Staff were friendly & accommodating especially Olivia ( front desk). Housekeeping at this hotel is upon request, when we got into our room, there was a musty odor that almost smelled like urine. We told Olivia about it & she said to let her know when we go out so she can come by & clean again herself. It wasn’t urine, rather just the odor coming from the AC. After a while it dissipated. Overall, it was a very nice stay. Will stay there again if we visit Frankenmuth again.
I have seen this hotel when previously visiting Frankenmuth. For our most recent weekend trip we decided to stay with them. The décor inside is great, warm and inviting. The parking is convenient. The rooms are clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff very friendly and the noise was minimal especially when you consider we stayed on the street side of the hotel. Breakfast is included in the stay with self serve, simple yet tasty options. There is also an afternoon reception with beer, wine and simple snacks such as veggies, cheese and crackers. We were allowed 2 drinks each evening with our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
great staff very helpful and friendly rooms have a balcony overlooking the river for a nice view when your not out on the town. breakfast buffet seemed more like personal service . enjoy the patio also overlooking the river
We just did an overnight stay to get away for an evening. This was a great place. We had been there a few years ago and had a minor problem but this time we had no problems. We had a great room (104) on the first floor. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a wonderful woman, Linda, who worked the evening snacks and morning breakfast. She was very nice and kept everything in order.
I felt bad giving only 3 stars because the staff here (especially David at the front desk and Michelle at the breakfast buffet) were excellent. The room was clean, location was great, and the beer/wine reception was a nice touch! Unfortunately, the mattress was lumpy and we rolled toward the middle, so we didn't sleep well. They flipped the mattress for us prior to our second night, but it was the same. So if you stay in room 204, ask whether it has a new mattress before your first night.
