Pretty home in nice area. Innkeeper Diane was very nice, and makes great breakfasts, even honored my special dietary preferences. Nice dining room, living room and game room with plenty of board games and puzzles. Old magazines stacked on floor of game room to look through(see pictures). Game room plant overgrown, needed cleaned up. Bedrooms very roomy (stayed in Arabian)cutely decorated and clean. Chocolates in candy dish were a nice touch, could use a clock and notepaper/pen. Bathroom roomy. could use a floor mat or towel to step on when get put of shower. Nice neighborhood. House is quiet as innkeeper lives in separate house 5 minutes away.Front yard pretty, backyard too overgrown with trees and bushes to sit outside. Could use some clean up outside of side door. One very odd thing was a life size Skeleton with a mophead and sunglasses inside front door as you walk in. It could give you nightmares (see picture). Plenty of water bottles were provided throughout the house, as the water in Flint is not drinkable from what I have heard and read.…
We stayed here for a weekend get away. Our intention was to visit Frankenmuth but found that the area offered limited accommodations that appealed to us. This B&B is an easy drive to Frankenmuth and we thoroughly enjoyed Flint. Knob Hill is centrally located minutes from the highway and the hosts are just lovely individuals. Allan checked us in upon arrival but both of them were in contact with us to ensure things were on track. A short check-in with Allan turned into and afternoon visit by the fire with a glass of wine. He is quite a character and is well travelled. Diana greeted us in the morning and we instantly understood why the this couple clicks. These two intellects are a perfect match and are just great people. Diana was responsible for two outstanding morning meals. We have absolutely “NO” complaints about this B&B and would highly recommend it to friends. If your not familiar with the area just ask. They had many suggestions for things to do and see plus great suggestions for food. Spot on recommendations! We found Flint to have very friendly residents and a lovely downtown. We cant thank our hosts enough for making our getaway a huge success. Until next time my friends!…
My wife and recently stayed at Knob Hill, and we loved it! This stately house has been updated to modern standards, but has an old school feel. The first floor has a library with a large TV and tons of board games. There is a great room furnished in old-world style with some remarkable pieces. A sun room and an antique style dining room round out the first floor. The dining room is obviously where you’ll eat breakfast. Simply text you host the night prior, and your fresh breakfast will be waiting for you! While there we had egg & cheese soufflé and western omelets. There was fresh fruit, juice, and yogurt as well. On the second floor there are three suites. Two rooms have doors to a common hall w/ the nicely updated bathroom. But they only rent one of the rooms (unless you rent both), so you do have your own bathroom. There is a cozy covered corner deck on the second floor. The little touches in this place are too numerous to mention, but I’ll try. There a charming accent pieces & art throughout. There’s white wine & cold water in the fridge. There’s red wine, glasses, & openers in your suite and the common areas. There are candy bowls around, a coffee maker in your suite, and an impressive coffee/tea station in the dining room. Our room was nice w/ more little touches like shelves, tissues, and a power strip next the bed. There is dish TV in the room, which seems very uncommon for a B&B. Our room (the Secret Garden) was very private, and none of the suites share any walls. What’s happens in your room, stays in your room, so no awkwardness at breakfast. We will definitely stay here again. We only met one of the innkeepers (Diana), but she was warm and friendly, a good cook, and a wonderful host. Her sincerity in wanting you to have a pleasant stay really shows. …
A beautiful comfortable home with the most gracious hosts! Our communication between Diana (our hostess) and us was excellent thus making our arrival and our stay very enjoyable. We started each day with a delicious breakfast and ended our day in the living room with a cozy fire and a glass of wine! I would greatly recommend that you choose to stay here during your visit to Flint!
We could not have hoped for a better experience than what we enjoyed at Knob Hill. The owner's exquisite attention to detail and her warm, welcoming charm definitely make this a place we will visit again and recommend often. Keven and Lynn Hoisington and Nanette Hodge.
Lovely, quiet, home away from home. Super gracious hostess and delicious food. Complimentary wine and beer was a nice touch. Easy communication. Lovely common areas that are very comfortable. Would stay again for sure.
Thus is a great place. It's the fourth time that we stay with B&B Knob Hill on our way to "the polar circle" skiing at Nubs Nob in Northwest Michigan.Dianna Phyllis, the hostess is outdoing herself every time with a sumptuous breakfast before we head north or south back to our home in Dayton. At night, before going to bed I am reading Ali Baba and his adventures, books provided by the 100 year old place.
Diana did a wonderful job making us feel at home. Room was clean and inviting. Wine and snacks were offered at check in. Coffee always available. She even cooked us a wonderful gluten free breakfast. Would certainly stay again!
Our weekend stay at the Knob Hill Bed and Breakfast was simply fantastic! Our room was clean, stocked, and beautifully decorated. The entire property was welcoming and peaceful. The walls and the furnishings were absolutely gorgeous it was extremely hard to leave the house because you can get lost in all the fine art and the literally themes of each of the rooms. The location was wonderful. We were in walking distance to the HAP Crim Festival Races and close to several really good restaurants. And, we were just a quick drive away from Frankenmuth. I, personally enjoyed spending each morning reading in the sitting and conversing with the residence other guests, after being served a scrumptious breakfast! The best breakfast I have ever had! Ask for the Egg Benedict...the thought of that meal still brings tears to my hungry eyes. But, what we loved the most was the customer service. The owners made us feel important. There is an old Jewish proverb that reads “don’t open a shop unless you know who to smile.” It’s hard not to start your day with a joyful smile after sharing a morning with such wonderful people. They made our stay so memorable. We are beyond grateful for their incredible customer service. Our gratitude is a poem we wish we could write. Poetry hides in the very fabric their pure Michigan hospitality is composed of.…
Diana and Alan are great hosts. The rooms were really nice. Free wine and chocolates in the rooms. Great breakfast and a great place to stay. I really recommend this place. There is a games room downstairs and a nice room for reading. They left us in the place on our own and it was very relaxing.
