If you are familiar with the area you know it is a snowmobile and hunting area. You are not going to get the elite high end type of hotel here. It is just not what these people are like. They are true midwesterners that live good lives. We have tried MANY different hotels in the area. This is our go to unless we want to stay at the casino. It is a solid hotel with solid accommodations. Clean and comfortable. That is what I look for in a hotel. It is apparent that they tried some renovations and it is not bad. The stain on the door to the bathroom was a bit sticky and there was some on the bathroom counter (room 215) but it was fine. Again, overall the hotel was clean and comfortable. But the part that really made my stay was Jacky in the breakfast room. She was SO friendly, personable, and helpful. It’s hard to be that joyful that early in the morning! She walked around to make sure everyone was doing ok. She kept the food stocked fresh. She was sunshine on a morning where the clouds covered the sky and it was a mere 20 degrees out. Overall, this is where we will stay if we are not at the casino. And the only reason to be there is convienence.

Decent hotel. Nothing special but room was well-appointed and very accommodating. The front staff upon check-in were a bit cold (not the friendliness). The breakfast was sufficient although not spectacular. I did get a great night's sleep though. It's a quiet, clean, and newer hotel. I also found it better than the Grand Mag down the highway.

Stayed here for 6 nights for Thanksgiving. This is a nice enough hotel and we enjoyed our stay. Free coffee in reception. Excellent staff. Lift was excellent. Good parking. Fridge and microwave in room along with coffee maker. Comfy bed with mattress topper. Clean rooms and public areas. No restaurant though for lunch/evening meal. We were snowed in without any food option. Breakfast is the normal rubbish served in these chains with so much plastic used... plastic cutlery, cups, containers for butter, jam, etc. Everything needed plastic. Even the fried eggs looked like they were made of plastic (and didn't tasted much better either)!!! Yet in the room they had a sign claiming they wanted to reduce energy use and be more environmentally friendly. Cut out the plastic at breakfast and I may start to believe that. Sorry, but this has to improve. No cushions for the sofa. No place to hang coats except in wardrobe. Not a bad hotel at all but it really needs a restaurant and needs to cut out the plastic use.

The guy at the front desk seemed like he was mad at the world. Stood there and never greeted us. My husband had to tell him we were checking in. I work in customer service and his attitude was so unprofessional. Room was clean. Very noisy lots of kids by the pool, we asked for a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor and the much friendlier young girl had to ask that crabby guy. Said the hotel was full which we found hard to believe but cannot verify. Breakfast had no coffee or hot water. The carafes were empty. I told the lady who was just standing behind the counter and she said oh I have to make some more. Really? Why are you not prepared at 830 in the morning especially if you have a full hotel. Eggs were horrible and rubbery. Decided to just eat yogurt and get the heck out of there. So if you want attitude and cheap eats this is the place for you!

The room was clean and nice. Breakfast was good. The bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, we did not get to sleep there. Room 114 is next to the machinery room for the elevator and it is the first room in the hallway. Everyone on the first floor passes the room. Everyone going up uses the elevator. For 10 minutes EVERY HOUR throughout the night, there was a really loud grinding type noise in the elevator equipment room. In addition to that noise, you heard the elevator every time someone used it. My husband went out for a walk at two in the morning. He said someone came down the elevator while he was outside to have a cigarette so the elevator is in use around the clock. There were some loud people in the hallway. You could hear the television in the lobby all night long. The lady at the front desk said she was aware of the room being loud and had had three complaints since July. She stated that I was the last person to make a reservation. I reserved the room on line a week before arriving and there were quite a few rooms available when I made the reservation. My original reservation was made for another town over a month before the trip but our plans were changed. I'm a platinum member in this hotel group and am not sure why I got stuck with this room.
