I have stayed here many times over the past 12 or 13 years and the experience is always wonderful! Hosts Tom and Caroll are gracious, friendly and very knowledgeable about the attractions of the eastern UP of Michigan. It is fun to watch their ducks, chickens and sheep. Within a day's drive are several lighthouses, a genuine ghost town from... More

We stayed only one night here while on the U.P. I wish we could have stayed longer. This is a delightful farmhouse built in the 1920’s. It is located on 80 acres of land and is quiet and peaceful. We stayed in the Great Northern room, which had a king size bed and bathroom with tub and separate shower. I... More

We loved our two nights at the Sandtown Farmhouse. The only complaint we had is we didn't schedule more nights here! Carol & Tom are two of the nicest and most accommodating hosts we've ever met. The working farm brought back great childhood memories. The peace, quietness, & beauty you get here are priceless. Carol also fixes the best and... More

The Sandhouse B&B is charming and breakfast, sensational. I agree, Caroll and Tom are the nicest people you'll ever meet. They made us feel welcome immediately. On Sunday morning, they even invited us to come to church with them.

The house was adorable, the grounds were beautiful, and the breakfast was amazing! Tom and Caroll are the nicest people you will ever meet and the Sandtown Farmhouse is exactly what a bed and breakfast should be.

What a wonderful place to stay. Caroll and Tom are such warm and friendly people. Staying there seems like stay with family who truly care about you. Each spacious room is individually quaintly decorated, have very comfortable beds and their own bathrooms! Breakfast was fantastic and filling with their farm fresh products like duck egg & cheese casserole, homemade bread... More

When you visit the eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan, this B&B is the best centrally located place to stay. Not only is the location perfect but the hosts, Tom and Caroll, are most gracious, friendy, thoughtful and accommodating. Their rooms are pleasantly decorated, the kitchen warm and inviting for your morning coffee or tea. The family-style breakfasts are awesome. You... More

We have had the pleasure of visiting the Sandtown Farmhouse several times over the past 12 years. Tom and Caroll have always been the most gracious hosts. Guests here can be on their own if they so desire, but if a more family style setting is what you want they will play Scrabble with you, visit with you in the... More

Carol and Tom are the best hosts you can think of and they live with their dog, sheeps, hens, ducks and frogs in a lovely furnished house in the Northern Wilderness (known as UP). They like to meet other people, so they often sit with the guests in the evening and chat. They are lovely and caring hosts, also and... More

Usually the reviews on Tripadvisor are accurate. Once in awhile one might get reviews from a particular hotel/resort that run the gamut from great to awful so we read those reviews especially carefully and chalk them up to to differences in expectations, or unusual variances of service. When one sees reviews of a lodging facility that has nothing BUT five... More
