My husband, 2 kids (ages 5 & 9), and I stayed in room #4 in the north wing. There’s a front and back door plus a wall of windows looking out the front, so the rooms have a really open/nature feel to them. The back door looks right out onto the dunes. When you enter the room it smelled of cedar, like a cabin, soooo nice!! Very clean. Our kids thought the pull out bed was comfortable and our bed was comfy too. Bathroom was clean and the shower hot. There is AC in the room but we didn’t even need it, as it was evening when we returned to the room and the air flow from back door to front door was lovely. The north wing also has the community room, so we were able to pop over there and cook dinner after a long day of sight-seeing the dunes and swimming. The location is perfect, right by everything you want to see in the area. We’d definitely come back!

Worst experience I've ever had. Room smelled of wet dog and was messy. Looked at mattress under sheet and looked like bed bugs were present. We asked for a refund and they would not give us one. They were rude and I filed a dispute with credit card company.

The perfect place to unwind with family. The rooms were comfortable, there’s a huge outside green space for our kids to run around. Lots of picnic tables for eating outside. A lovely community room for hanging out, eating inside, watching the soccer game, and cooking (also outdoor charcoal grills available - bring your own charcoal). Full equipment available and some basic cooking supplies like salt / pepper / olive oil. Several other families were there and it was natural for them to meet and hangout. The owners helped introduce us by offering our kids containers and showing them where to pick fresh off the plant raspberries (so tasty)! Got some adult hang time too after meeting some folks playing Euchre in the community room. The location is perfect for exploring Sleeping Bear Dunes. We went out at new moon to see the stars and Milky Way. Did lots of day time exploring too (visitors center is in Empire - don’t forget to pick up the free Junior Ranger activity book!).

My daughter was married in Glen Arbor June 26. We rented most of the rooms at Duneswood Resort for the week. Debbie and Malinda were amazing hosts. They listened to what our needs were and were so helpful to our whole group. We stocked the community room with food so our whole party could help themselves to what they needed. The community room had everything we needed to cook and feed 20 plus people all week long. The rooms are clean and fresh. Our group included people from all over the country and everyone of them loved our little home away from home. Some of them want to make this an annual tradition. There are 12 different rooms that accommodate a variety of different needs. We could not have been happier with our week at Duneswood Resort.

Rustic and retro chic weekend getaway. We loved our stay at Duneswood Resort. The owners and staff were very accommodating and friendly. We rented bikes on site and road to Glen Arbor along the very scenic Sleeping Bear Heritage Bike Trail conveniently located directly in front of the motel. We saw the sights in the National Park and stoped for lunch at the local brewery which we recommend highly. Our first night at the resort was spent stargazing while relaxing in our own private set of Adirondack chairs located just behind our room accessible from our very own back door.
