The Dunes is a fun place to stay in Douglas that, of course, caters to the LGBT crowd. We typically go there every summer. Missed last year, but made it this year, and definitely enjoyed it. You can spend the day by the pool, go out to get something to eat, and then spend the evening there at the lounge...

First some good things: The cabins make you feel like you are camping in the woods with beautiful lush greenery around you. There is a nice pool on the property and plenty of entertainment. There was a refrigerator in the room. We also had a fun time. Now onto the areas that should be given some attention, especially given the...

Always kinda an interesting place - Still on the fence on it all -Attention Owners- FIRST TIP - Ask some of your staff to adjust perhaps be more gracious, etc. so forth & so on (see #'s on the subject) Second -Please update or do something to the "BatesMOtel" Building it detracts from the Pool and the overall complex, thanks!...

What an enchanting place. The staff is friendly and very welcoming. Everything was spotless clean with top notch service. Very responsible rates that will have us coming back on a regular basis. We spent one night and left feeling like family.

Was there with friends, there is a part of the resort that is totally outdated and need renovations. There was one room they rented out that the bathroom was not ready, totally under constructions. The guest had a discount but had to shower outside.

It's true that this place is more oriented toward the LGBT crowd, but I am sure they would not turn away anyone else during the weekdays. Weekends are almost always booked in advance. Rooms are very nice and clean; hard-working and friendly cleaning staff! Leave them a good tip and you will get great service! Nice pool area and a...

Located in Douglas just 5 minutes from downtown Saugatuck, The DUNES is a fantastic getaway with a couple Motel-styled buildings, some small Cottages, a pool and an indoor/outdoor night club to boot. We travelled the 13 hours from our own "Gay Friendly Beach resort town" of Asbury Park to check out what our great-lakes brothers and sisters could call the...

My husband & I recently spent a long weekend here - first time in Saugatuck. Once you get there, its immediately obvious that the owners have invested quite a bit of time & money in the place - everything looks updated and clean, very well done. Besides the clean & attractive pool space (with pool bar), the nightclub area is...

The Dunes is so much fun. Came for Memorial Day weekend. The rooms are everything you need, the pool is a great place to make new friends and the drinks/bartenders are outstanding. Will def be back. It's not directly on the water but a short 5 min drive away.
