This met our needs, it was clean, convenient ( near the Tulip Festival activities ) and doesn't break the bank!. The manager was very kind and helpful when recommendations were needed for sites and restaurants. Free breakfast quite limited.

Blue Star Motel was wonderful for our overnight in Saugatuck/Douglas. Very comfortable bed, wonderful veranda for sitting, an overall great experience. The front desk (Billy) was great, very cordial and very thorough. Would not hesitate to stay here in the future.

We loved the cozy little room and the great service! Parking right by the door to our room is always a plus for us, and we also enjoyed being close to both Douglas and Saugatuck. Both towns were new to us and we enjoyed their charm. The best surprise, though, was the very excellent breakfast at the restaurant next door....

Rusty and Billy helped us have the best of experiences at Saugatuck/Douglas. We had a reservation at Starelite Resort, the other motel they manage, and when we checked in Rusty told us that, according to what we were looking for, we would be better at the Blue Star. A room happened to be available on the other place, so we...

This is a small hotel with the perfect setup. Only 9 rooms here so it's quiet and every room has a walk out backyard access to a setup which you would have with your back yard. Yard chairs....hot tub....outdoor porch furniture with lights. Close to downtown and the brewery!!! The stay includes a breakfast voucher for the cafe next door....

Loved almost everything about this charming motel. We were impressed with the welcome. We had great communication with the staff and, from the moment we booked to our departure, felt they were there to answer our questions and make sure we enjoyed our stay. We really liked that we could walk to downtown Douglas and that breakfast in the restaurant...

My husband and I visit the Saugatuck / Douglas area a couple times throughout the year. We stayed at the Blue Star Motel again on January 2, 2016. They've done a great job with this place, continuing to make updates to the property. The rooms are cute and stylish and the hot tub and deck are awesome even in winter...

I just stayed there over New Years for a couple of nights. It's the third time I've stayed there and I definitely plan on coming back. The rooms are very cozy and well kept, and I love the artsy colors of the walls! It puts me in a good mood just being there. Billy provided a tour of my room...

What a wonderful and warm experience. Clean, comfortable, and did I mention clean? While the rooms are small, it was perfect for our nights stay. Billy checked us in, gave us a quick tour, provided snacks and water, and included in the price was breakfast at the nearby diner. We definitely stay here again, and hope to bring friends back...

Don't let the word motel scare you this is the cleanest, well decorated place I have ever stayed at. Billy the person who checked us in was really nice and attentive. Free breakfast at a restaurant two doors down. Breakfast was really good. Stay and enjoy.
