Our bed had SO many stains on mattress pad PLUS food/popcorn. Our one robe had a big stain, the chair had shredded cheese in crack, floor had food and stains. With covid everyone has lowered their expectations because nobody can get staff..this is too far below standards! This is a health code violation!

Booked the room to be in town for a convention, this was one of the hotels on the list with transportation to and from. When booking the roof I selected a couples package that included a spa credit. After booking I contacted the hotel to confirm and find out how to use the credit, I was told all I had to do was set up the service with the spa. Day of arrival I contacted the hotel to ask for a change to a King room, I was informed to ask at check in. I did and was given the King room. Entering my room I found it was a double, back down stairs, talked to the front desk. Went to my second room it was a king. Dropped my bags and headed down to get some food. Went to their buffet, I selected a salad to start. After a couple bites of salad a bug crawled out from my lettuce. I mashed it called someone over and told them. They took my plate and fork and left. Never to be seen again. I am on semi vacation so I just leave because I am tired and do not want to argue. Going up to my room I go to turn the bed down and it looks like a mouse has been chewing on the bed linens, there what look like mold stains, wine stains and more. I go to the bathroom and find that some of my towels are torn up as well. I call the front desk and they send someone to take care of. Transport to the show: At check in no one knew the schedule or where the pick up was at. I was told to ask in the morning. That morning I asked and was directed downstairs and to go out some doors. This I di and found I was locked out of the hotel at this point. Several other guests had this happen as well. We called the hotel to check on the shuttle and point out the doors locked us out. After a while a employee, manager looking poked his head out. I pointed out that some clear signage would be nice to have. He rudely stated that next time we should not go out the door and left. The Spa: Showed up for our spa session. Again I asked about our spa credit and was lead to believe all was well. Spa service was ok, it was not what was advertised but since we had the spa credit I was not going to say much, I pointed out the hydrotherapy spa, which accounted for a vast portion of the treatment was broken and the only comment was I will have to look at that. Check Out: At check out we I found we were charged the full amount for our spa treatment. I pointed this out and was told I did not have one nor did I book the proper booking to get one. I was offered a $200 credit for my troubles. This place may have been a 4 star at some point but is not worth the stay, most of the staff was friendly enough but the place just was not worth the stay.

My dear friend and I stayed for 3 nights, never once did they clean our room, on the 3rd night which was the highest peak during movement festival, I couldn’t get back in my room. My key didn’t work, I was left homeless, although I paid, premium of 300 plus, I couldn’t contact my friend who’s name was under room, they never asked me for my name as well. I was camped outside homeless. The next day, my friend also, couldn’t get into his room, they knew exactly who we were, it was a complete nightmare. The last day, as well no new towels, or clean sheets, yet we woke up, they checked us for another night, we wanted just a later check out but they totally took advantage due to the fact I got no sleep, camped outside, he was exhausted of all this, they charged us additional night even though we flew back to NYC, didn’t even stay the night. We are demanding money back.

The hotel itself was very nice. The major problem was the management’s rationale is for only having room cleaned after 3 days. This means that necessary items are only available when requested . This includes making the beds.We spent a lot of money and received very little .The management claimed it’s because of COVID. Poor excuse!!

My daughter gifted a night to Motor City Hotel and such a disappointment for a night getaway. The rooms are dirty, pillowcases ripped, shower floor full of dirt. The rug for bathroom had nasty dirty foot prints. It was unreal!!

I travel 50 to 75% of the time for work. We stay in nice to very nice places in this price range all the time. So I think I have a pretty good gauge on what should be expected here. Cleanliness: I found it to be above average. I did stumble across a difficult to clean area that could have used a little attention in an out of the way location, but to be fair you’ll find that in 80% of hotels if you go looking for it. Bed: the sheets, blankets, and linen were about the correct level. I’d say the bed was okay, it’s a good stiff mattress, probably not as plush as it should be at this price point. Pillows were a disaster. The pillows are not hotel quality or are ancient. They were the single worst issue in the whole room and that’s inexcusable as it’s an easy fix. Bathroom: outstanding. The layout, the quality of towels and amenities, and the water pressure were all top shelf. These are the 3 areas travelers care most about. So that’s my take. We paid $250 a night, this room would be a steal at $150. But bring your own pillows. Also the room was large and roomy and very well decorated. I found it odd they didn’t have charging plugs on the end tables, that’s pretty much a standard these days, but the plugs were close enough. The spa is fantastic, my wife and I both enjoyed that. The only other area we found lacking was the choices of food. It’s pretty much the buffet which has very limited hours or fast food. We were here for a romantic weekend and a nice romantic dinner over a hoggie, was not what we expected. However you are downtown Detroit and there are plenty of off site options.

Girlfriend & I stayed here last weekend. We had a great time but few things weren’t the best. Both sheets on both beds were ripped, one washcloth under the counter was dirty as sh*t!! Wasn’t happy for the nightly high rates we paid. The maid was super nice at least.

We were really dissatisfied with the Hotel. Our room had really dirty floors. The carpet was stained all over and was dirty, the tile floors had dried crud all over them, dirt was in all the corners of the tile. The pillows on the bed were in rough shape and we're three sizes. The buffet was $29 each and the food was buffet food nothing great. Never again. The roof was $229 with tax. We stayed here before and it was great. No more.

We booked this room 3 months ago for $150 and when we arrived the attendant said it was 300. They said we needed to call after.Nov. 1st to take advantage of a new month's offer for a free comp and apply it to the room. We were in town to see juvenile and this isn't the first time we've been disappointed here at motor city. I booked a room at the athenium and thankfully the motor city manager cancelled the room for us.

The hotel room was a bit beat up. Stains on the carpet. Bathroom floor/tile didn’t seem very clean, some areas were sticky on your feet. You could see some film reflecting on the gloss of the floor. I was surprised how small the tv was in for a casino hotel room. I guess I was expecting something a little nicer but overall the room was decent, but I wish it felt cleaner.
