Stayed here overnight while visiting Detroit just for a mini vacation. It’s very close to the people mover which is across the street. It is directly across the street from the Renaissance Center. As far as restaurants it has a small Applebee’s and an IHOP. We were going to eat at the IHOP for Sunday breakfast but it was a 20 to 30 minute wait which was ridiculous. The room was very clean and had an excellent view of the Renaissance Center and Canada across the river. The swimming pool and hot tub are on the eighth floor unfortunately there were no towels there when we went. There are two Saunas on the ninth floor one in the men’s locker room and one in the women’s locker room. Valet parking is $30 overnight. I found the valet attendants to be somewhat rude. In fact I didn’t tip them because they were so rude. There is no place to park when you come to this hotel unless you go to some covered parking place in the neighborhood and walk to the hotel.

We took the entire fam to the Tigers game to see the KC Royals play. The location near the transit was awesome and incredibly nice. The rooms at the very end of the hallways are very cramped and seem horror movie like, but are fine. They are much smaller than the hallway rooms. We had 2 rooms for our family and had one of each.

Pros - Nice facility, decent location for Cobo Convention Center and dining options, professional staff was friendly and helpful. Nice having IHOP and Applebee’s in-house. Cons - My personal knee pillow disappeared after housecleaning did it’s thing. Called their line, got the answering machine and no one returned my call. Mystery unsolved.

This was an awesome place to stay and work recently. The Skyline Conference room was perfect for our deliberations and it was easy to locate on the 8th floor. I stayed on the 14th floor with a room with gorgeous views of Canada, the Detroit River, the Windsor Tunnel, the People Mover and Detroit’s Skyline. The room was clean, quiet and very well appointed. Loved seeing the sun rising on Chase Bank and the Guardian Building. Definitely recommend as a place to stay when in the D.

Unlike other Courtyards I have stayed at, this is more like a high rise hotel. Very clean everywhere I went. Great workout facility. Friendly staff from desk clerk to house keeping. There is an iHop there for breakfast that serves your typical fare. You can sit at the counter or in the back, plus there is quick take out. There also is an Applebee's, but it's a bar and grill. I could not really rate the food, as I only ordered an appetizer one evening, but the bar atmosphere and staff were great and beer selection included several local beers. It's part of the Millender Center and direct access to the "People Mover" so getting to other places like Greek Town for dinner is super convenient. However, if your room is on the side where the tram runs, it can be a bit noisy, but that seems to stop after 10pm. It's just a 3 mile loop and they have several cars running around on it. Parking is valet for $30 a night or park around the corner on your own for $20 a night. Looks like I will have several return trips back there for business and will most likely stay at the Courtyard. With that, I would say I recommend it.
