    Excellent Stay
Stay Report - 3/21 to 3/22 Location: The hotel is located in Dearborn Michigan just off the Southfield Freeway (MI-39) and next to the Fairlane Town Center Mall.  There are a number of restaurants nearby to the hotel but the immediate area around seems very sleepy.  The hotel is also really close to US 12 and I-94 so getting around this area is very easy. Hotel: The hotel is a delfagged Ritz Carlton which isn't much to look at from the outside.  Valet was closed when I was there but there was enough free self parking.  The lobby is an absolutely gorgeous space with a nice fire pit area along with a small gift shop.  There's a 24 hour fitness center and small indoor pool as well as a two computer business center.  Art installations are important to this hotel and there are paintings in the lobby and on all floors. Check In: Two very friendly agents checked me in and thanked me for being Titanium.  I was told I could have a $10 F&B credit or points plus free breakfast.  That was a nice perk.   Room: An excellent room.  That true luxury feeling that's often hard to find in the US.  Full sized living room with work area, powder room, large master bathroom, large bedroom and no soundproofing or Wifi issues plus lots of outlets.  I was really impressed and was glad I used my SNA Dining: I had a drink at the bar and was really impressed by the liquor selections as well as the helpful and friendly bartenders.  Breakfast was a buffet with an omelet bar, French Toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes and cold items of pastries, cereal, smoked salmon and the like. Nothing but good things to say about this property, I'm really glad I stayed here.

    Elegant stay
This luxury hotel made a beautiful backdrop for a girl's weekend. The lobby is elegantly decorated with lovely decor and art lining the walls. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We had adjoining rooms, so my only complaint is that there was a difference in the level of renovation. The king room had hardwood floors and a nice layout in the bathroom where the double room still had the old carpet and a bathroom that needed some fixes. The beds were very comfortable, which made up for a little. The breakfast buffet was around $25, but we didn't like our food. It was very over-cooked but edible. stay.

    Great hotel and welcoming staff!
From the bellman to the front desk to the staff, all wonderful. Classic former Ritz Carlton with still some shine left. The rooms are a bit sparse and need updating and a bit more attention to detail. Such as, not a piece of paper or a pen anywhere! Bathroom was spacious and well appointed. The views from the upper floor was wonderful of the area and the hotel is well located to everything we needed in Dearborn. For the price, the rooms should be better appointed and updated. The lobby restaurant is also something that needs attention. Went to make a dinner reservation before our arrival and it required a deposit! When we ate there it was nothing more than a hotel style diner, nothing special and the food was nothing special, so what gives? Pool and spa were a little tattered also. The staff was terrific!

Nice place to stay when traveling to the Dearborn area. The rooms are clean and staff is friendly. The bar/restaurant on the first floor is nice, while maybe overpriced. I have noticed they don’t seem to embrace the Marriott brand, more like they are just on their own.

I loved this hotel!!!!!! Amazing service!! Standout hospitality by Janielle!!! The decor and smell when you walk in the hotel is so refreshing and I loved the artwork! We had 5 rooms and we all had a great stay. Renee at the breakfast was wonderful and started our morning well. I loved the omelette station—a small assortment but it was great. The hotel is very busy-lots of wedding events happening but it does not take away from experiencing the hotel-it was actually beautiful to see so many wedding parties dressed and so Happy. The manager who checked us out was able to sort out our billing issues for our 5 rooms with no problem-and was so efficient. Parking was easy and free which was great. Look forward to staying at this autograph hotel again!!!

I was in town for a family function and I stayed at The Henry Autograph Collection for the first time and was very pleased! Good: 1. Rooms are nice, the bed is comfortable. 2. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. 3. The hotel lobby is beautifully decorated and it feels wonderful to enter the hotel. 4. The hotel is close to restaurants, shopping, and freeways. 5. My room ahead a view of the Renaissance Center and the Ambassador Bridge! 6. There was a small fridge in the room and it did a wonderful job of keeping my drinks cold. Could be Better: 1. Parking is not convenient but self-parking is free. I wish there was a hotel entrance closer to self-parking. 2. Housekeeping is by request only. I declined housekeeping but there were only enough towels for one person for one night. When I requested additional towels, they were immediately brought to my room. 3. The furniture in the rooms was a little worn. But the room was clean. Overall, I really enjoyed staying at this hotel! I would highly recommend this hotel and I plan on staying here again.

This is the first negative review I have ever left for any Marriott property as a lifetime Gold status member. The check in was awkward in that the person at the front desk did her best to talk us out of checking in. We were told they might be sold out (without checking the system). I asked if she was sure, since the app showed vacancies shortly prior to arriving. She also mentioned the price of the second night as being over $430 (I assume to discourage me from checking). Once we booked via the app at the front desk, she dismissively gave us our key, "you're all set then." No gracious (and very standard) "thank you for being a loyal member; please contact us with any questions, etc." Zero stars for front desk, more on that later. Maid service is 5 star, so is the restaurant/bar staff. Both beyond friendly. The rooms are 3 star. The hotel lobby is very nice, and it seems any remodel budget was spent on the shared spaces. The rooms are basically Courtyard rooms with laminate floors that replaced the carpeting. The furniture is dated. The bathrooms are nothing special or updated. I was hoping check in was just a bad day, but we had to deal with the same person on our last day of a 2 night stay. We were politely asked (don't recall the gentleman's name) the previous night to call after 8am for late check out on the morning of. Called at 8 AM. The same person from check in (Kimberly) was asked for late check out, she was having none of it. Politely reminded of status and asked for an hour, she said "not at this time." Did not argue. We accepted defeat and checked out at 11 AM as required. Tough to defend the one employee who greets and sends off a guest being so sour on inquiries from loyal guests. There's other great Detroit options. Don't let this speak for all Marriott properties, though.

We appreciate your lifetime Gold status and were honored to host you as our valued guest. We regret if you were greeted with anything less than friendly and attentive service. Rest assured, we'll remind our front desk of their important role in warmly welcoming visitors to our property. Our team is confident that future visits will uphold the fantastic stay you expected from our brand, and we hope you will give us a second chance.

Full service hotel - appears to be the only one in Dearborn area. First class rooms & room amenities. Easy self-parking but also had attentive valet. Agree with other reviewers that $25 breakfast buffet was overcooked & not worth it, but there are no options nearby that we saw. Easy 5-10 minute drive to Henry Ford Museum. Downside with front desk - we stayed with points, but had multiple additional charges to our account that we are still trying to clear up. Overall best bet in a limited market.

Very classy hotel. Easy checkin options. Spacious, clean, and comfortable room. Walk in rain shower was immaculate, and furnished with high quality soaps and rinses. The hotel has a pretty good restaurant and bar, too.

I have stayed hundreds of nights in Marriott hotels over the last 20 years as a business and personal traveler. This hotel is the only one that I would NOT recommend for a stay. It was an issue of integrity for us.

The Henry is a nice hotel but not at the 5 star level that it states. Most employees are very polite, professional and aim to serve guests needs. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. There are nice intimate places to sit and relax. I liked they had the daily WSJ downstairs. They have beautiful colorful art work throughout the property. There is ample free parking and quick access to the freeway. Concierge breakfast was poor at best. Don’t expect a great or even normal experience while visiting concierge at anytime.
