Lovely home made food and jams, Scones so light and tasty well worth a visit however watch your waste line lol, very old fashioned place but very good and clean, the staff could not do enough for you, good selection of drinks and wines

Nice, quiet hotel in a good walking area. Nice room, good food as usual although the shower room was a bit cramped. No TV or wifi apart from in the outside tv room, so few distractions, although there is now a Vodaphone 3G signal. Dog...More

3.30pm onwards; everything home-made (apricot jam and rum butter, scones); 6 of us chose the left lounge (both lounges have open fires in winter); the chairs look less Colefax & Fowler than the other lounge; maybe they've thrown out the quaint old ones.... comfy though...More

A stop on our walking tour. Dinner was delicious. Breakfast was okay. Breakfast server exhibited some attitude that was awkward. Clean old fashioned rooms. No tv and questionable wifi. After dinner chocolate and coffee served in the lounge very nice

What a pleasure to arrive at this hotel after the second day on the C2C walking out of Ennerdale. We were able to purchase food and drink in the hotel and sit in the lounge boots off before going to rooms. The rooms were comfortable...More
