Lovely lakeside location, gourmet cuisine. Stayed for business in the area and was glad I broke from the chain hotel norm. Bud and Kelly are active, engaged and caring innkeepers who attend yo your needs and care about your comfort. The selection of a room is diverse and the country decor fits the northwoods surroundings. The resort is clean, well maintained and close to town. This property is picturesque and perfect for a lakeside wedding.

The food in the restaurant is worthy of a Four-Star rating in a big city location. Many people relayed that the Ole Forest probably has the best food in the UP and I would not argue with them. Imaginative and full menu with nice bar, breakfast is a daily selection well conceived and beautifully presented. Not a typical B&B breakfast...food all around is unexpectedly delightful.

This location would be a great fixed base of operation for your winter sledding activities, summer lake fun or special occasion.

Chamberlin’s ole forest inn
Step back into time in this 7500 sqft. Property build in the late 1800’s. The dinning room has a large fireplace and most evenings some local musician playing. The menu has a nice variety to choose from. Pan fried blue gill, grilled pork chop, pasta and a nice 12oz. New York strip. I started with the French Onion soup and salad with house made blue cheese. Medium rare Strip steak, twice baked potato and green beans. Finished the evening with Lava Cake and Ice-cream. Chamberlin’s Ole Forest Inn is a great place to eat, drink and even stay the night.

We spent two nights at the Chamberlin Inn and enjoyed ourselves very much. We found the room to be very nice. It was clean and decorated so cute. The Inn was quiet and the view of the lake was gorgeous. When we were there it was covered in snow. There is a big porch that would be wonderful to sit on in warmer weather.

The owners were very accommodating from the first conversation with them. She helped me decide what room would work best for our family and I spoke to the husband when we changed our reservation and he was accommodating as well.

We had two breakfasts and one dinner and were very happy with the quality of the food and service. For dinner we had steak, fish, shrimp and soup, salad and bread. Every entree was delicious. We needed to leave early the last morning and they had our breakfast ready an hour early to meet our needs.

We also ended up with soaked clothing from a long hike and the owner helped me get our stuff dried out. Also, the owners and workers all wore masks to make you feel safe.

This is a beautiful area of the country that we had never explored before. There is a lot to do within a close distance from the Inn so I think it is a good home base. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely Inn to you and hope you enjoy your time as much as we did.

A traditional, old-fashioned, family-run inn with a large restaurant on the first floor and the porch.

On the evenings that the restaurant is closed, the hotel guests have the porch and grounds to themselves. The view is wonderful and we enjoyed being able to take advantage of the space and quiet time.

The rooms and the building itself could benefit from some sprucing up, though, including updated furniture and decor. It just seems a little tired and worn.

Everyone associated with the inn was friendly and helpful.

This was my second stay at Chamberlin's. Once on business. This time with family. They were more than accommodating for our family of five (2 adults, 3 teenagers). Very clean motel, games available in the dinning room to pass the time. Good breakfast. Good wifi.

Chamberlin’s is an outstanding bed and breakfast located on a beautiful lake in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The house dates from the 1880s and the room decor is delightfully Victorian. Two bathrooms serve the guests with sinks in each room. The baths have immediate hot water, soft towels and other amenities.

The porch and lawn add comfort and beauty.

The breakfasts are varied and all were delicious and ample. The dinner I had—Michigan Cherry Pork over Angel Hair Pasta—was terrific!

Owner Nicole and her staff are warm and welcoming. Dog Winston is wonderful!

One suggestion: Add a couple of chairs by the fireplace indoors for relaxing.

This place is Magic!

From beginning to end, Chamberlain's is the perfect venue for unforgettable experiences.

From the specialty Valentine's Day drink menu to the mouthwatering dinner menu, everything was touched with hints of Valentine's Day spirit.

Hats off to the chefs, and staff behind the scenes, right down to the rooms, impeccably clean and charming.

The music gracing Valentine's evening performed by Allen and Diane Bondar was truly exceptional. May they come again and again by popular demand.

The new staff was a breath of fresh air. Sarah and Kelsey were pleasant, accommodating, and impressive. They make you feel like they're happy to have you there, creating an atmosphere instilled with a sense of belonging.

After meeting one of the new owners, the lovely Nicole, who is beyond impressive, it is clear that the magic of Chamberlain's will continue for many years to come.

It just keeps getting better...
♥️

Three snowmobilers decide to stay for the night. The Inn is fantastic. Great wood fireplace. Rooms were really clean, and typically size of a 100 year old Inn. The staff was really friendly and thoughtful. The restaurant/ bar is on site. The food was great (Caesar salad/bluegill/ lava cake) and the drink pours are generous. My two hotel snob friends loved it!

After staying a few times in the way up to Marquette in the winter we decided to make a stop and check out what it is like here in the summer. We booked everything over the phone and were given wonderful recommendations about which rooms would work best for us. We brought along our best friends who had never stayed before and we were all just blown away by the beauty of the lake and the property itself! We spent time kayaking (with the complimentary kayaks) and just relaxing in the porch with drinks from the inside bar. We also had an amazing dinner on the porch with our large group. Our service was wonderful and they were extremely patient and accommodating with our three kids. The sunset that night did not disappoint! We can’t wait to come back again!

We stayed at Chamberlin's a few days September, 2021. It was a great experience. When we arrived, we were told we were on the 3rd floor. There were steep stairs and no elevator. We knew we could negotiate them on a daily basis, but not with our luggage. So they cheerfully carried it all up for us! Breakfast was different each day and was at their choice. It was always more than you could eat and good. We were in room 14 - The Chamberlin suite. Very spacious and great view and private bath. This is the room to book if you want privacy. Restaurant food for dinner was just as good as breakfast and reasonably priced. (Breakfast is included in room price). We would definitely return. Some of the photos here are of nearby attractions. Most are of the Inn and grounds.
