This place is breathtakingly beautiful, comfortable, and clean. Ruth, Ole, and their son Abe were wonderful, welcoming hosts. Our room was big (North Woods room) and the bathroom was huge! The ceiling in our room must have been 30 feet high. It also has a nice sized balcony with a spectacular view of the lake. My husband and I enjoyed... More

Stayed two nights - accommodations were clean and spacious. We loved the balcony with an amazing view of the lake. Antiques and taxidermy occupied the common spaces. Great location to town. George the dog, the rabbit and the three miniature donkeys made the place for our daughter. Breakfast was nothing to write home about, but a good start to the... More

My husband and I stayed in the Americana room of the Dapple-Gray Bed and Breakfast and we loved everything about our stay. Our room was wonderful and spacious, breakfast was delicious, and we loved talking by the gorgeous fireplace. The view of the lake from our balcony was wonderful. We loved seeing the log construction of the very clean Dapple-Gray... More

`Ole & Ruth built a beautiful log lodge on the shore of Lake Superior. The allowed us to share the beauty of the U.P. in Grand style. We love this place and will stay again. I'll bet there is no better B&B in all the U.P. The location and lodge or awesome and the hosts are gracious, warm and friendly!... More

The Dapple Gray was one of our favorite stays on our two week vacation of the Upper Peninsula. The place was gorgeous on the outside and just as beautiful on the inside. We stayed in the Lincoln room that had a walk out door to a view overlooking lake Superior. Every morning we woke to a wonderful homemade cooked breakfast... More

We had a beautiful, nicely appointed room, private with a wonderful view of the lake and passing freighters. The breakfasts were delicious and ample. Owners Olllie and Ruth are warm accomodating and fun to be with. This was our second visit and it hopefully will not be our last.

We found Dapple-Gray as we were making our way around Lake Superior. A great find indeed. The house is beautifully built and the bedroom was very comfortable and private. We entirely enjoyed our hosts and the great chats. We hope to come back some day!

Great little place to stay in north michigan, would love to go back! The owners were helpful, fun, talkative, and above all, you could tell they REALLY enjoyed what they do. That's the key to a good stay at a B&B, having welcoming hosts, and Ruth, Ole, and Abe really do this well. We stayed in the Lincoln Room with... More

Entering Dapple-Gray is a step into creative history within ambiance beyond expectations! The host and hostess are well educated, fine conversationalists, always approachable for help and information concerning the area, and scrupulously maintain the premises both indoors and out. The location is quiet and relaxing. The breakfasts are carefully planned, generous, and delicious. We look forward to staying at Dapple-Gray... More
