We came to Copper Harbor on a family road trip. It was my husband's birthday so I didn't mind spending a little more for a room. While the room was alright, it was not impressive at all. It lacked personality and the girl who checked us in over at the restaurant wasn't very welcoming. After waiting for her to finish up with a paying restaurant customer, it was like "here's your key, your on the second story over there, bye" We were told there was free wifi...... you are lucky if it worked at the restaurant and didn't work at all in our room. But you are at the end of the world, so it's to be expected. I will say the room was comfortable enough and we slept well, but we were also exhausted from a long day which might have helped. I would look to stay somewhere else if we ever go back.…
Pros: Nice town and people. Close to some good attractions. Cons: Overpriced. Not much in amenities including breakfast, microwave (probably because the overpriced restaurant next door is owned by them), cell phone access, slow wifi AND you have to let them know two weeks in advance you have to cancel. Did not work well with me as I was injured on a hike, needed medical care and there is nothing there for miles. So, just sat in pain on a sofa for two days because I could not get my money back.
After checking out everything in this copper country, we needed a refreshing lunch and spotted this nice looking restaurant not far from the fort. It looked neat and clean and we were trusting that the food would refresh us and it did. The service was very good and the food came out immediately and it was tasty.
With limited choices in eating establishments in Copper Harbor, we ate dinner at the Mariner two nights. Both times the food was good and the service was average. White fish and lake trout were both good.
We stayed one night. In the motel it was ok. But could use some repairs. It was quiet we did get a good night's sleep. We had dinner in the motels restaurant. We food was good and service was fairly fast.
