Let me start by saying I understand this is Copper Harbor at the Northern most spot in Michigan. My expectations were not high. Because we were only staying one night we did not at the time complain to the hotel about any of these issues as we just wanted to stay the night and continue on the next day however during this COVID19 issue one would think that a bit more effort would be put into cleaning. The windows in the pictures are up a ways however if you are going to have high windows you should have the equipment (vacuum extensions/dusting extensions) to clean up high. There was a green goo in the tub that I didn't want to even get close to and the coffee pot was actually grimy on the inside. The filters (just setting there with no sanitary packaging) provided were for a large commercial pot and after washing the pot myself I had to cut the filters to fit the basket. Again, we did not say anything to them at the time but should I really have to? Two stars instead of one because of location.…
We got in late after a day of riding and were served right away. Our food (whitefish sandwich, black bean burger, and southwest salad were delicious. Meals were reasonably priced and the restaurant was clean.
We had a great 4th of July weekend in Copper Harbor. COVID masks and social distancing protocol were in place everywhere we went. We booked & stayed in a (2) Queen room at the Mariner North. We were in the 2-story building, lower level, Room 10. After a fun afternoon Friday of riding dusty ATV trails with our S x S we wanted to take showers before dinner. To our surprise no hot water at all (freezing cold showers). Made front desk aware, but they seemed a little disinterested... like not our problem, but we’ll have it looked at! It might be a pet friendly motel, but we had an unfriendly dog as a neighbor who barked into the late evening hours Friday night. Oh well, a hot shower will fix a poor night’s sleep at least fo a little while. Wrong, still ice cold Saturday morning .... lame excuses at front desk and not much empathy!!! Sunday morning shower was the same ... freezing and fast! The rooms show of use & abuse, but they were clean. I expected to pay the $260 (room & tax) for two nights rate on a holiday weekend and in a small resort town, but you might expect them to be a little more appreciative of your business! Quite disappointed and we won’t return there!…
Traveling with a group of 6, all on snowmobiles...great destination! Food is good in the restaurant, reasonable prices, good beer on tap and nice rooms. We were in the older one story “hotel” but the room was nice and roomy with 2 queen beds, wet bar, couch, desk and TV. We would stay here again! All staff we encountered was very nice and friendly!
We came to Copper Harbor on a family road trip. It was my husband's birthday so I didn't mind spending a little more for a room. While the room was alright, it was not impressive at all. It lacked personality and the girl who checked us in over at the restaurant wasn't very welcoming. After waiting for her to finish up with a paying restaurant customer, it was like "here's your key, your on the second story over there, bye" We were told there was free wifi...... you are lucky if it worked at the restaurant and didn't work at all in our room. But you are at the end of the world, so it's to be expected. I will say the room was comfortable enough and we slept well, but we were also exhausted from a long day which might have helped. I would look to stay somewhere else if we ever go back.…
