We had an amazing time here. We are on a week long camping trip based in Munising. We decided to come up to Copper Harbor for a couple days, to explore. With 6 in our group we were looking for a place to all stay together. I had been up here 15+ years ago but we stayed at a local hotel. I knew about Keweenaw Lodge and after looking at their cabin options and prices we decided to book a 3 bedroom cabin. Upon arriving John was incredibly friendly and had everything ready for us. We got settled in our CUTE cabin. The cabin itself was perfect, it was very hot the day we arrived so we opened all the windows and got a breeze blowing through. It cooled down that night and we all slept great. The second night we actually turned our gas fireplace on to warm the cabin up from 60° to 70°. We shut it off before bed and again slept great. The rooms were nice size, the bedding and pillows were great and nice and clean. The bathroom is huge! Shower had great water pressure and the water was hot as long as we spread our 6 showers out. Every morning we were offered free coffee and free breakfast burritos at the lodge. They were DELICIOUS! The same gentleman that checked us in, John, helped us each morning and was always friendly. Knew our names and which cabin we were in. So nice to feel like we’re important and not just another guest. There is a bar in the lodge, fully stocked. There is also a restaurant but with staffing problems they are only opened Thursday - Sunday. The cabin had a mini fridge, microwave and small coffee pot.
My husband is a golfer so him and I golfed the 9 hole course the first day we got here. The gentleman working in the pro shop was very friendly and told us to take out time, even though it was nearing closing time. Husband said the course was pretty good. Greens were fabulous, carts were new. They also offer high end Mountain bike rentals, disc golf and sling golf.
All in all, we had a great time and look forward to coming back.

We stumbled on this beautiful mountain lodge years ago while camping with our young family and finally got the chance to to return last week. Our now grown son and wife were planning to drive to the Keweenaw Peninsula to do some mountain biking on their return trip to CO and asked us to join them. Turns out, KML checked all our boxes! It is literally at the trail head for the bike trails, allows dogs and offered a beautiful and quiet setting. The cabins are rustic but each had a fireplace with wood (which is restocked daily if needed), comfortable beds and a surprisingly good shower. Complimentary fresh breakfast burritos and coffee are available for guests each day of your stay. There's a 9-hole golf course available, disk and fling golf, hiking and biking right on the premises. And the lodge itself offers dining Thurs - Sunday and is gorgeous! Our experience was delightful and we are making plans to return with friends later in the fall.

The accommodations were fine. The room was clean and we had use of a coffee pot and fridge. I was a bit disappointed with the cost of golfing and mountain bike rental for us as we were staying as guests. We paid well over $200 for 2 rounds of golf and 2 bike rentals. That is after spending nearly $1000 on accommodations. We had breakfast at the cafe 2 mornings. The breakfast burrito's were delicious! We did make reservations for the restaurant for one night. When we arrived there was one other family sitting at a table (not sure why we needed reservations). The food was HORRIBLE! The menu is small so we were hopeful the food would be fresh. We had the stroganoff which was soup and the steak was extremely chewing. Also tried the pork loin which was extremely dry. Finally we were told by other guests that there were smore's by the fire. When we arrived there were 4 employees of the lodge playing a game. Not one person acknowledged our presences. A 5th employee sat on a chair playing on her phone. We knew they were employees due to earlier interactions while renting mountain bikes and paying for golf. We would probably stay at the lodge again however would skip the restaurant and any activities.

Wonderful place for a getaway. The natural beauty, comfortable accommodations and superb staff make for an excellent stay. The team goes above and beyond to make sure guests have everything they need. Chef Widad, Monica, Tom, Martin and Penelope really made it feel like home. The property has trails, bikes, spots to see northern lights and is close to everything. You can’t go wrong staying at the lodge. It’s also the BEST food in the area. Get the Kafta Burger 🍔. Thanks for an amazing time

We had a great stay here while trekking cross country, and in our diversion to the far northern tip of the UP where our ancestors had lived.

The property is unique and historic, the service by the owner and by the couple other people we interacted with was great. The owner took his time to show me around the lodge in detail.

We ordered take-out breakfast and it was great.

We had a great time running on the hiking/biking trails in the woods.

The restaurant wasn't open the evening we were there but it was no problem to drive 5 minutes into Copper Harbor for a great seafood dinner.

We would have loved to extend our stay, including to play a round of golf, and definitely would love to come back.

It's a very pretty setting but the cabins are quite basic and antiquated for almost $200 a night. The cabins are short on electrical outlets so if you have more than one device to charge, good luck. The electrical cords for the table lamps were downright suspicious looking and appeared very old. And there is no air conditioning. For the price, I expected at least a window unit. It was very hot in the cabin even with the windows open. We had to go ask for a fan and after much searching around, they did find a box fan. However that meant we had to leave the windows open all night in a ground level cabin - a little disconcerting for two women traveling alone. We had to leave the curtains open all night too of course, to get the breeze in. But there were very bright street lights shining into the cabin making it difficult to sleep. But the property was charming in many ways and has an interesting history and the staff were very nice. However, overall, I did not think it was worth the money.

The setting for the lodges are very appealing, and we were so looking forward to our 2 days there with our grandchildren. Before arriving, we were left a voice mail that informed us to go directly to the cabin and that it was ready for us. When we arrived at 3:00, used linens and garbage were still present from previous renters. A trip to the office led to disputes about whether the cabin had actually been cleaned and also whether the check-in time of 3:00 was valid. We ended with cancelling our stay and finding another place to stay in Copper Harbor. I realize that the premises is more than likely short-staffed, but this does not excuse poor, unprofessional handling of the situation.

We have visited here on a semi-regular basis over the years and have observed a general deterioration of food and service. This was a business in decline.
We have read about the new owners and decided to try it. We reviewed the menu online and made a reservation.
The menu is limited but reflects 5 main items offering different country tastes.
The restaurant is the same rustic motif but the food is way beyond rustic. The food was unique, the service was above average and this place is well worth visiting more often. We're told they will be offering different menu items every week.
We are very excited and plan on visiting more often.

I may well have given a 5 star review had they simply had at least three of the four dishes available as listed on their very limited weekend menu- (announced Wednesday online).

I am sure it is difficult to plan during the quieter season, but after making my reservation well in advance (required) and driving some distance away from any other reasonable dining option, I was certainly surprised to hear that rather than stuffed pork tenderloin or shrimp with risotto (both were "all gone") my menu options were either a bagel with turkey (odd) or lentil stew. I arrived @ 6:30 and other tables were seated after me- I am presuming they were puzzled as well.

The kafta burger off the regular sandwich menu was indeed good, for what it was, but not at all what I had planned for the evening, and seemed well overpriced @ $20 plus.

Nice ambiance, seemingly good people, but it was what is was- disappointing.

This historic lodge and cabins sits in the middle of a beautiful forest. I love the Dark Sky marketing even though it was cloudy both nights of my stay. The three bedroom cabin was clean and spacious. They provided excellent little touches like local high quality coffee and nice gifts including a coffee mug. The bedding and linens were fresh and the bathroom looked newly remodeled. The gas fireplace was perfect even in June.

The lodge is gorgeous with comfortable seating and fascinating decor. With the room rate we received a complimentary breakfast prepared by Chef Wi. We had breakfast burritos and coffee and they were both excellent. We also let Chef Wi prepare us gourmet sandwiches for dinner and to take on our journey. It was the best chicken I’ve ever tasted and her turkey clubs are amazing.

Overall, the staff is welcoming and competent. But, the lodge and the food and the bar close at 6:00 pm with food stopping at 5:30. That was a huge disappointment, because I would have e loved to spent much more money sitting in there after 6:00 pm.
