Cannot even explain how I am that we (my family) came across The Retreat at Miller's Landing. We had a group ranging in age from 7 to 70s, and ALL had THE best time! There is truly something for everyone here - relaxing on the beach, kayaking, boating, swimming, game room, fire pit, water trampoline, and my favorite, the floating sun deck! The cottage was super clean and had everything that we needed. Scott was very responsive, helpful, and welcoming as the host. We were here in August, but I would love to come back in the fall. It is truly a picturesque location, and I promise, as someone that has stayed at several lakeside cottages, there is no way you will be disappointed. My family and I have already decided that we want to come back at least once a year!

Spent three relaxing nights at The Retreat. Rooms have been recently renovated and amenities are well above average for this kind of lodging. If you’re looking for a charming, boutique place to forget about the rat race for a few days, The Retreat should be on your list. Scott is an awesome host and a wonderful person. We already booked a return stay.

My family spent the 4th of July holiday at The Retreat at Millers Landing. Had a WONDERFUL time! Hadn't been there in a few years and they've made some nice improvements. The game room, and fun stuff in the water were really appreciated by my kids! The rooms at The Retreat all all wonderful. We had plenty of room for 4. That helps when you're going to be there for a few days. This is a peaceful vacation for the adults. Lots of places to walk and enjoy the outdoors. But, there is enough for kids to do, too. My kids spent their time using the retreat's kayaks and exploring the lake. i was out with them in the paddle boat. Martha & Bev took us out on their pontoon boat to enjoy the Colon fireworks show. We brought the snacks and wine! The 4th of July parade in little Colon is a real slice of Americana. And, you can still get pretty good food in Colon, too!

After spending a weekend at The Retreat at Miller's Landing, we must share our good fortune with all of you who plan to be in southwest "river country" Michigan. The Retreat at Miller's Landing is located in Colon, MI, better known as the "Magic Capital of the World". The "Retreat" is located on beautiful Sturgeon Lake, which offers great fishing, boating, canoeing and in the pine forest nearby, hiking and cross-country skiing are accessible. We were just minutes away from Shipshewana and a multitude of shopping and dining experiences. "At home" comfort can be found at The Retreat with a variety of choices of rentals for a cozy twosome or a crowd of 20. Pet friendly, also. Outstanding offering of amenities. Reasonable rates. Check out the website: [----].

The owners were great, the price was right, and we had everything we needed. The age of half of the mattresses prevented their occupants from sleeping, and most of the bedrooms were so small you can only access the bed from one side. The view is great, water access was nice, we roasted marshmallows and paddled the boat. The common room was perfect for our family, as we rented out all the rooms and wanted a big space to gather the big group and cook together. There is a piano but it needs major work. I would come back, but only with people with whom I am comfortable sharing tight quarters, and not for more than a weekend.

If you are looking for a great family vacation this is it! We (5 kids and 2 adults) had a great time. Accommodations perfect for a lakeside getaway. Large common area for board games/movies/group meals. Also a game room with air hockey/pool/darts etc. Fishing boats, kayaks, canoes, water trampoline. Lots of chairs and a hammock for relaxing. Fire pit with wood and grills supplied with gas or charcoal. Bev and Martha have thought of everything. Go and enjoy a relaxing vacation!

I just returned from a couple of restful days at The Retreat at Miller's Landing. If you want to relax, this is a great place to go. Beautiful scenery, peace and quiet. The owners are really friendly. Curl up with a good book and read by the lake. You won't regret it. If you like to fish, this place is really great. Fabulous pizza up the road and the history of the place is really interesting.
