Have been going to the Cedarville area for 45 years, and have stayed at different resorts in the area. By far this is the nicest places here. The cabin was very nice, clean and comfortable. Views are gorgeous of Cedarville Bay.

My family has been staying at Island View for decades. The cabins are rustic, but clean and with all of the essentials necessary for cooking and making your stay comfortable. But don't expect a club med experience, as there is no bar, pool or tennis courts, as that's not what Island View is all about. island View is a quiet place to get away with friends or family, sit around campfires every night, go fishing or boating in the beautiful sheltered channel islands area of Lake Huron. As others have said, it's a little piece of heaven on earth. I find that Larry and Jackie are great hosts and go out of their way to help accommodate the needs of their guests.

The facility is great and cabins are nice. Plan to pick up essentials TP, Towels, Bedding ect this is noted on web site so NOT a surprise.
Resort has dock and Kayaks, fire pit, horse shoes ect... Close to Macinack and the Soo (close is a relative term, due the fact that most of our group flew into Chicago or Detroit and drove to Cedarville) Town of Cedarville is quaint while having all the essentials. Really a great get away from it all type vacation.
The only reason I did not rate as excellent is the owner can be unfriendly at times. While on site he was very personable and accommodating but prior to arrival and over the phone he is not very good to deal with. Make it past the reservation experience you will have a good trip.

We spend two weeks every summer on vacation at Island View Resort. It is definately the best two weeks of the year for our family of four! We fish, swim, boat, and spend time checking out the local attractions. The cabins are very clean, well stocked and comfortable. Every year new upgrades are done to the cabins and facilities. Very convenient location, grocery, gift shops and restaurants are close by. We use the dock for our boat and swim at the beach at the resort. Great views of the islands and an easy boat ride to Cedarville and Hessel. My highest recommendation goes to Island View Resort

The Lipple's are awesome hosts. We were treated as family as soon as we arrived. Would strongly recommend this resort to anyone, especially those that are seeking a very family friendly atmosphere. The weather did not cooperate on the second day of our trip, but it didn't matter as we both had great experiences. We will definitely be back!

Our expectations were very high and this resort came through for us. Our daily routine was fishing in the morning, either hanging out at the cottage or sightseeing during the day, and fishing every evening. Very family friendly, clean, and kept up with quality. The rented boat(s) are a must as it will allow you access to the other channels. Best fishing we ever experienced. Pike, bass, perch. My 10 year old daughter caught a 28" pike that she'll remember for the rest of her life. Cedarville, Hessel, DeTour is the best kept secret in Michigan. Shhhh dont tell anyone.
Well our reservations are set for next year and we even reserved a second cabin for more family. Larry and Jackie, thanks for your hospitality, the memories are made.

Have been coming to the area since 1975. We decided last summer this was the best of the five places we have stayed. The cabins are well furnished and very clean. There is a dock and boats to rent if you do not have your own. A small but nice beach and large grassy area with swings for children. It is far enough off the main road that traffic is no problem. Wi-Fi for those who want it. It is a great getaway. Jackie and Larry take care of their customers well.

The Island View Resort is a great place to stay and unwind. Larry and Jackie are wonderful hosts and go way above and beyond. The cottages are well kept and the grounds are as well. Island View caters to family's with children and they offer things for the kids to do. They offer boat rental and the boats are well cared for and Larry is available for any problems that you may encounter. There is a very nice well groomed beach for the kids and adults as well. We have stayed there 2 years in a row and are going back this year for number 3 and plan on continuing going back year after year for many years to come.

We were a part of a family vacation and what a great place this is! Several rental cabins and a couple RV sites. Dock and boat slips, small beach, great swimming, playground, campfire wood supplied and great fishing! The owner and his brother were very accommodating! Definitely will go back!

Excellent location . The dock provides easy access to your boat. Beach is always clean. Cabins are very well kept. Fun fishing from the dock. We have been coming here for years.and will be for many more to come. Hard to find a place that gives you your privacy but also has a community feel.
You have access to Mackinac Island, Mackinac Bridge, Soo locks and a wonderful Upper Peninsula scenery. A outdoor paradise all around you.
All of this coupled with Larry and Jackie making sure your stay is comfortable makes your vacation a vacation.

"There is one cottage they named "The Honeymoon Cottage" because it is located across a stream that runs through the resort. You have to cross this bridge to get to it. If we had a large family we would rent the home that is big and beautiful."Read full review
