This quaint old historic home is beautifully appointed with gorgeous antiques and yet is as comfortable as any modern hotel. It’s like a step back in time to the 1880s when the home was first built. The wrap-around veranda is reminiscent of the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island (without the lakefront view of course). The furnishings reflect the opulence of the Gilded Age but are comfortable and inviting. The bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve experienced in our travels and the bathroom offered a large shower and jacuzzi tub beyond our expectations for an historic home. We were able to relax with friends in the game room as if in our own home. Miranda, the house manager, was very knowledgeable about the property and its history, and made us feel like family. Don, the owner who lives on the property, greeted us later in our stay and made us feel welcome in his home. The property is only a short drive from Frankenmuth but without the tourist trap prices. It’s worth every penny!

We had the most wonderful time at Himelhoch Bed and Breakfast. It was our first getaway alone since the holidays, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was not only delicious, but very plentiful! Don even made us some homemade potatoes after discovering he was out of hashbrowns. They were awesome! Neither of us could finish our plates because we were so stuffed full of goodness! The attention to detail in the home was incredible. The hardwood porch was so well maintained you would never know there was a few inches of snow on the ground. They really spent a lot of time making this home spectacular! We stayed in the Myer and Rosa Suite which was perfect for us. The cozy fireplace kept us warm at night and we were steps away from the game room so we could play some pool while watching tv. We definitely recommend this place if you need a quiet getaway for a few days. Even the food in town was excellent. What a fun time!

Everything about the stay was great. The property was well implemented with hot tub, fire pit and game room. The room was beautiful with personal robes and towels so thick we could barely get our suitcases closed. Don and family were very welcoming and lastly breakfasts were outstanding

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to Himelhoch B&B! The rich history of the home was captured in a stunning manner! Our room was clean and fresh with all the needed amenities and comforts of home. Our stay was relaxing and peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed the plentiful and delicious breakfasts that were provided each morning on our selected timeframe. We enjoyed some time in the game room as we listened to music and played a few games of pool! We hadn't done that in years! :D So much fun! Himelhoch was our "home" base as we visited Frankenmuth and the Dow Gardens. Our immense thanks to Don and Mona for hosting us!

If you have plans to stay in Caro, MI - I would highly recommended staying at the Himelhoch. This beautifully restored Victorian style home has very comfortable rooms and many extra features like a game room, hot tub, quiet sitting areas and a wraparound porch. The breakfast, which was definitely prepared with care, was very tasty. Don, the proprietor, is incredibly friendly & happy to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. Be sure to ask Don about how he restored the building & made it into the charming B & B he now operates. I’ll definitely return.

This place felt like home away from home! It is a beautiful B&B, from the peaceful outside lounge areas and hot tub to the cozy rooms. Waking up to delicious smells of the breakfast waiting downstairs for you was a great start to our mornings. I was a long way from my home state of Oklahoma, but Himelhoch B & B served their hospitality southern style!

We recently enjoyed a weekend stay at this B&B in Caro, the heart of Michigan’s thumb region.

We stayed at the Parsonage, which was across the street, and used the parking lot nearby. We ate the excellent (a la carte) breakfast on the expansive porch at the main house though.

Don and Jessica (we didn’t meet Don’s wife Melissa) were flexible, helpful, and gregarious hosts. Their pride of ownership and commitment to service showed throughout our visit. I’m glad we stayed here and would do so again.

Such a beautiful property and welcoming hosts!! They made us a cooked to order breakfast and it was delicious! We used the relaxing hot tub and it was wonderful. We also order champagne and chocolate covered strawberries and they were there waiting for us when we arrived and we were not disappointed! It was such a lovely experience, and we would definitely come back!!
