This is our favorite destination for our annual snowmobile vacation. Our rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location of this motel can’t be beat, located right off the snowmobile trail.

Hello from the Trailside Lodge! Sorry for the wait in replying. DBPlitt's information is correct. There are many beaches along Lake Superior here in the Keweenaw besides McLain State Park as well depending on how far you are willing to drive. We do not have a pool but not far from the lake. We do have a lovely fire-pit to relax by in the evenings fully stocked with fire wood. Located on the main trail system that ventures throughout our beautiful Keweenaw, with UTV and ATV rentals on site! Our number here is 1-906-337-9905, feel free to call at any time. Thank You, Trailside Lodge

Are you serious? Your question is perplexing. How do you plan on getting there? What ever business / pleasure it is you are visiting the area for, are you with out a friend or acquaintance that you can rely on for transportation, at least periodically to obtain the things you need? While this motel is comfortable, clean, the owners friendly, and rates are reasonable for a night or two stay, if you have absolutely no access to transportation there are places to stay that are closer to and with in walking distance of all the amenities that Calumet has to offer. There is at least one national chain hotel, The American-inn that at least in the morning the cost of your room includes breakfast every morning. If you have the money to stay in a hotel / motel for up to 90 days (3 months) at $70+ a night why not scrape up a little more to rent an economy rental car, there is probably a place to do a long term rental in the Houghton / Hancock area. But, like I said in my review of this hotel, there is a decent restaurant that serves all 3 meals daily at reasonable prices that would be about a 1 mile walk from the motel / 2 miles round trip. And that's assuming it's still in business, as of June 2014 it was. Good luck.
