The pool is mostly deep and is better for children old enough to know how to swim. There were nice shaded areas, too.
Pool & Beach (1)
Jumping pillow. Even with many children around, they tire of it and you can find plenty of alone time on it if you want to.

We stayed over the 4th of July Holiday. We have stayed at Woodchip a few times prior to this trip. This trip was about the same, very enjoyable. Friendly staff and owners. They seem to truly appreciate your business. We always enjoy the root beer floats they offer for free and also the sundaes that are free as well. Nice to sit and meet some new people while enjoying these cool treats. As some have said the sites are pretty narrow but that has never stopped us from staying. The pool is clean, always. They have a jumping blob that the kids love, also a Ga Ga pit, basketball court and wagon rides. Our granddaughters favorite is the foam party’s. They will often have different food trucks come in. Bring your cash, or card, the food trucks are pricey, but that’s with any food truck. They are good about keeping the noise down after quiet hours have started. We truly enjoy our stay at Woodchip and look forward to the next trip. Check them out! You won’t be disappointed. Kurt and Nancy Wierenga

Lots of fun activities for kids. There was a food truck on site on Saturday, along with rootbeer floats on Saturday night. Sites are somewhat small but the owners are making improvements to the sites. Close to Grand Rapids so if you want to venture outside the campground you only minutes away from several activities/hot spots.

What a great campground. We all really enjoyed ourselves for our first time staying there. We planned to be by the playground with several of our extended family and, given the number of kids/grandkids we had there under 8 years old, that was a real plus to sit at our campsite and still be able to keep an eye on them.
The sheer number of events last weekend was fantastic! The glow ride, barrel train, foam, root beer floats, inflatables, bouncing pillow, pool, balloon creations, arts and crafts - the kids all had a blast. Woodchip Campground SCORED.

We stayed 2 nights Easter weekend. We have stayed several times prior. Due to the freezing temps, we didn’t use the full hookup or water at our site as we didn’t want any plumping to freeze in trailer. We did run out of gas for our camper and the owner was kind enough to immediately fill our 2 gas cylinders which we so appreciated. Each time we have stayed there we have been pleased. We were just bummed this time that it was too cold to use property!

Woodchip is a fantastic campground nestled in a highly wooded area. The location is perfect and close to major highways and the quaint village of Byron Center. Camp sites are roomy, and most are tree-covered. There is lots of fun activities for families, including a large pool, sand boxes, big playground, bouncy houses, bouncy pillow, dunk tank, half-court, shuffle board, picnic area and pavilion, rides, and so much more. Food trucks bring in food and refreshments, and the camp store is full of toys, logo gear, and snacks/candy, etc. Fire pits are at each site and the store sells fire wood and propane tanks. The campground is meticulously taken care of and maintained. I especially appreciated the mosquito-free outdoors. Laundry facilities and bathhouses were very clean.

This is a great campground for families with children. We had a group of 8 different family’s that circled the play ground area. It was so nice because we felt free to let even the young children go off to the playground by themselves, because we could still see them. There were lots of activities for the kids also. The pool was refreshing.

This campground is very clean, well maintained and family friendly. We’ve visited the past 4 years and every year we notice something that’s been updated. (Trees trimmed, campsites leveled with stones, pool area has new chairs, etc). The sandboxes are even stocked with toys! There’s so many activities to keep kids entertained.

We come to Woodchip every year and love it. We tell all our friends about it. It's great for kids. If you have little ones you can easily watch them on the playground from your campsite (there are many that are right up against the playground. If they're a little older, they can roam freely and never be too terribly far away that I couldn't find them quickly if need be. The bathrooms and pool area are clean. They have lots of great activities for the kids planned throughout the weekend and the staff are the greatest! My only complaint is that the bathroom stalls are quite small, knees almost touching the door when you sit down. And there could be more hooks or benches outside the showers.

Woodchip Campground is Grandkid Heaven! The perfect place to gather your family for everything fun including a sparkling pool, sporting games/super big sandbox-always poised to play, rootbeer floats for all which were topped off last weekend with a variety of Americana tunes played by a seasoned harmonica ensemble! Our Grands are very fond of the jumping pillow, playground and well stocked camp store. We appreciate your kindness and cleanliness. It was our 3rd year...we'll see you again next August!

Very family friendly campground, great facilities, showers could use some hooks or benches to store clothes while showering! Will definitely consider coming back! Stayed on a busy holiday weekend, but was still nice and quiet at night!
