The Traverse City KOA is located about 15 minutes south of Traverse City in an area of Michigan known for its outdoor activities. In addition to the beaches and water access available downtown, we are only a short drive from Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore and boast numerous area breweries and wineries. The campground has a jumping pillow, swimming pool, miniature golf, gem mining, barrel train, and much more.

Detailed Reviews
This campground is fantastic, especially for families. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The check-in process was smooth and simple. The store was tidy, clean, and had super cute apparel. The campground itself had 2 jumping pillows, a playground, gaga ball, volleyball, a pool, a small train ride, a mining station (costs extra), a mini golf area (costs extra), and an RC car area (available for rent or you can bring your own. The campground itself has beautiful trees that provide a large amount of shade. The shower house were extremely clean. The campground has someone driving around to pick up trash regularly too. I would highly reccomend this campground. This is the best campground we have been to yet and we will definitely be back!

Great site, #9, near the road but you do not hear the traffic after one night. Wonderful clean park with excellent staff even when you ask silly questions. Just a 20 minute drive into Traverse City if you really need to see a city. And the pie shop. Just a bucket load of shade with all the trees around the park. Silver Maple???? Anyhow, even if you are a grump and sit inside all day there are too many TV channel to count. everything for anyone who camps. And reasonable. The only thing that was bad was the price of gas but we can't blame that on TCKOA. This was our first time at this one but not our last. Did i mention the delightful pool?

Very nice employees at Koa they escort you to your site upon arrival but it’s small campground most wouldn’t need more than a map but nice non the less! I had a deluxe site with a concrete pad and patio set fire ring and two benches to sit on very nice! The site is very small that being said but I fit I am 35 foot with one slide there was some more room to back up farther but I would have had to break out another extension hose for my sewer as it was I had 20 feet of hose out there! Only true complaint about the place was that the gravel was like 2 inches or more low next to patio they need to build that up to be the same height my wife was worried if I hit the tire on that corner I might pop my tire on my camper! I mainly used my camper for my showers but I did go to the bathroom/shower house across from main office and I looked at the showers looked like they cleaned them but do not go there expecting tile from floor to ceiling there is some older tile on the floor with rubber mat but the rest is cinder block walls with shower curtains for privacy! Not dirty but not awesome. That being said I would give it 4.2 stars no way is it 5 stars but it also isn’t bad prices and the area is awesome around there!

We had a Partial shaded site but some looked very shaded. Good Digital cable Chanels. Poor internet. Pool stayed heated but it was very crowded so we didn’t try it. Very long pull through sites. Did not use bath house or laundry. Got propane when leaving and was very shocked at the highway robbery price since gas is so low here. It was $4.99 /gal +tax. 14.6 gal was $77.22 or $5.29/gal including tax.

This was our third trip to the campgrounds. We were told the cabin we were staying in was a DELUXE cabin. There was even a sign on the wall saying it was a DELUXE. It had NO sink, and two drawers and a small counter to keep all of your food/kitchen items. You have a DORM frig with no freezer. The "living area" was extremely small and very close quarters for the four members of our family. The staff was friendly. They also told us there was a toaster, and none was there when we arrived and they said it didn't come with one. You have a small microwave and a 4 cup coffee pot. You can not cook at all in the cabin. We wiped the floors and they had not been cleaned.
The rest of the cabin was clean. Also, it was not a full-sized shower/tub. It was a super small one and hard to turn or use. We would go to an airbnb or a hotel with a kitchenette if we travel to the area again. I feel it was extremely overpriced for what you get.

Never again will we stay at KOA Traverse City. Dirty floors upon arrival, no pillows, no bed linens or towels provided on arrival even though the bed linens were paid for in advance. I had to go to the office twice to obtain all of the items. On our departure we were charged $35 for excessive dirty cabin. The only thing dirty were towels which were needed to use for bathmat which was not provided and in the bedroom so I didn’t go to bed with gravel on my feet from a lack of cleaning before we arrived. The mattress was the worst I’ve ever slept on. An air mattress would have been more comfortable. The rate that is charged for cabins does not coincide with what you get for your money. I specifically ask if there was WiFi and was told yes, but I could not get service in The cabin and only occasionally if I was outside. I have AT&T so that is not the issue as I had no issue elsewhere. It was nice for kids but not great. I would absolutely find an alternative campground as there are many others to choose from.

This campground is beautiful. Very clean and kept up nicely. Not sure how anyone could call this place loud, we have been here all week and after 10pm it's very quiet. Close to Traverse City, yet far enough to not feel crowded. Pool is nice, as is playground. Would definitely come back next time we plan to come to Traverse City.

This campground has an exceptionally friendly staff, very clean park with very nice amenities, and spot on Wi-Fi. Highly recommended. Very close to the dunes Park, the Lakeshore, Traverse City, winery tour. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

TC KOA is clean and site #69 was amazing! The check-in was fast and easy. The staff is friendly and helpful. It rained but we had a great time riding bikes and walking around the campgrounds. We felt safe and very comfortable. We will return for future camping trips. Thank you TC KOA!

We really enjoyed our stay here, beautiful location amongst the trees, friendly and helpful staff, nice facilities, nice amenities (pool, bikes, swings). Dogs were welcome and everyone was pleasant. We will be back!

Yes, all deluxe cabins have a propane BBQ.
Unfortunately our cabins are not pet-friendly. We welcome pets in our campsites for those who travel with their own rig but they are not allowed inside the cabins. You can check our current rates anytime on our website, I just can't post a direct link here as TripAdvisor won't allow it.
Most of our visitors do visit the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, there are many other things to do in the Traverse City area also, along with all of the fun we have planned this summer at our family friendly campground.
