We just got back from a family vacation at Cozy Comfort Resort for a week. (We had 4 cabins). The cottages were awesome and the caretakers went out of their way to help. They brought a golf cart each morning for our use (I’m disabled and have trouble walking), and gave us “tips” for the area on things to do and places to go. We hope to get more cabins if available for next year. The only downfall was the location of the fire pit. Hoping it could be relocated to the front by the water instead of in the middle of all the cabins, where “youngsters” were sleeping (the sound carries at night). All in all, GREAT vacation. Can’t wait for next year!❤️❤️

This will be out third year visiting Cozy Comfort. Each year we travel to Beulah and this resort to spend the week. This facility requires that you bring all your own linens, towels, etc. It is a very well kept facility. They have 5 or 6 cabins and a main house that is also available for rent. You have access to the lake and the fantastic sunrises and sunsets. The caretakers are very welcoming, accomodating and easy to strike up a conversation with. Deffinately a great place to lay your head.

I was also at Cozy Comfort on the 4th of July this year. Proofofcottage3 forgot a few details, specifically that his party was drunk, loud and obnoxious. The police were called at 2:30 in the morning. Just because the lights were off in all the other cottages does not mean that you haven't woken everyone else up. When the manager and the owner responded to all the complaints on Sunday, they found the screen ripped out of the cottage door. When asked to leave, Proof responded with more screaming and obscenities. Finally, they left and the remaining guests could resume enjoying the sunny weather on the private beach on beautiful Crystal Lake.

I have stayed here before - you bring your own bedding and food, but kitchenware is provided. Each cottage has a picnic table and charcoal grill, and shared fire pit and beach. There are lots of things to do in the area: kayaking or canoeing, hiking, biking, or just laying around. A short drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, or Lake Michigan. And obviously, the managers take care that your stay is enjoyable.

We stayed in Cabin 5 (connected to another cabin) for a week and were very satisfied with our stay. We had family renting a cottage two doors down so it couldn't have been more convenient! We had Crystal Lake on one side and Papano's Pizza on the other...perfection! The 2 bedroom cottage was very small but perfect for the three of us to lay our heads. Had a fridge, stove, microwave, TV with satellite, shower, etc. Quite rustic but most of the cottages that are under $1800/week on the lake are. The shuffleboard and firepit were nice and the resort's beach area was beautiful. We will very likely be staying again!

We have been staying at Cozy Comfort for over 41 years and have very good memories here. The couple who run the resort do an excellent job and try their best to accommodate any requests that you have. Great location on the lake. Close to town. fire-pit in the courtyard is nice. Great for families. This is NOT a bad place. There is a different side to the story written as a bad review/experience below. We will continue to spend our summer vacations at Cozy Comfort. Definitely worth a try if you have not stayed here before.

We stayed here over a weekend when we were visiting family and there wasn't enough room at their home. The owners were accommodating and helpful. No A/C but that's fine in the early summer. We've stayed there once a while back (forgetting the exact dates), but it was early in the season and there was almost no one there. Lots of parking and we basically had our choice of cottage to stay in. Very nice.

We came to the area for a weekend visit with family. I knew the cabin would be small and "rustic" but unfortunately it didn't even meet the most basic expectations of cleanliness and comfort. When we arrived we promptly discovered a big pile of leaves, dirt and outdoor debris on the floor by the kitchen. Disgusting. I called the manager to report and she blamed it on staff using a leaf blower by the screen door. That didn't really make sense given where the pile of dirt was in the cabin but the bottom line is she did nothing about it so I had to start my vacation by cleaning the cabin. Not acceptable! The manager's only concern during our stay was collecting our money. She had a poor attitude and seemed to feel she was doing us a favor by letting us stay there. Overall the cabin was dusty and stuffy with poor ventilation and just not adequately cleaned. Few windows in cabin and those would not open so only fresh air was through the screen door. Pull out sofa bed had a heavy plastic cover on it which was awkward and uncomfortable. The door lock also was not working properly. The fire pit was centrally located in front of the cabins and we had difficulty sleeping due to a large group of drunk disrespectful profane people. To sum it up, I really just expected a basic clean comfortable place to sleep and was sorely disappointed. Go elsewhere!!

Response from Cheryl A, Manager at Cozy Comfort Resort
Responded Aug 31, 2016
This person did not stay this year she was there last year. The drunk people were sent on their way the next morning by the owner and my husband, there is not much you can do when adults act that way except ask them to leave. As for the pile of leaves and dirt, what a shame to say such a thing, I told her my husband used a leaf blower to clean the front of the walk and unfortunately dirt came in under the door, and no it was not a huge pile as it has happened before and I usually catch it and clean it up, sorry I missed it this time. My guess is she was looking for a 5 star hotel and due to last minute booking she had to stay with us and was angry. Our guests seem to truly enjoy the rustic cabins and we do clean them very well, but they are old, sorry.

We stayed here the week of July 4th also. After the first night and commotion of one drunken family that called the police on themselves, all was great. Cabins are clean, old fashioned feel, nice feel with being right on the beach, bonfire pit available on courtyard. Shuffleboard, picnic tables and grills. Resort keepers pleasant and personable, they know about a lot about the area. Will definitely be back.

Charming old school cottages with situated on Crystal Lake with its own beach and piers. It was really nice to relax by the fire pit but I was most amazed by the impeccable condition of everything. I couldn't even find a door that didn't latch properly. It's a user clean and we'll maintained. People come he as r year after year and it was fun getting to know them by the fire pit. We really lucked out finding this place.
