Detailed Reviews
My wife, Barb and I, stayed at the Grand Victorian B&B for three nights, August 5, 6, 7, 2020. What a wonderful place. The Inn is a huge classic Victorian house filled with antiques and very special architectural details. We stayed in a beautiful suite above the carriage house. It included antique furniture, king sized bed and a generously sized Jacuzzi tub. My wife was in 7th heaven each night as she let the tub take all her weariness away. The room was very quiet. Each morning we had a gourmet breakfast in the dining room prepared by our inn keepers Jason and Yunning. Even with the Covid-19 restrictions breakfast was great, talking to the other guests. Next year we will be returning for another three nights.

We had an amazing anniversary trip to Bellaire. The Grand Victorian is an incredible property. Loved to learn about the history from the owner which dates back 100+ years. One of oldest buildings in the north and first with electricity! The home has aged very well with remarkable woodwork showing the elegance and care of its original owner. We stayed in the Richardi room. Highly recommend! It is accessed next to garage and more modern. Every room is unique and beautifully decorated.
Morning breakfasts were delightful in the main house. Locally brewed coffee was a bonus. We especially appreciated the convenient location. Bellaire is filled with shops, bars and restarurants that fit any preference. And, all within walking distance.

Although hesitant to book, as this would have been my first time staying in a bed and breakfast, I was not disappointed! My wife and I had absolutely zero complaints. The house is so beautifully restored and astonishingly clean. We felt as if we were sleeping in a museum! The owners are very kind and sweet.

+1
The website is from the previous owners. Grounds and house sadly neglected. Gardens overgrown, 3 foot tall grass, bare spots in lawn, weeds everywhere, bushes overgrown, sidewalks not edged, wrought iron fence almost invisible because of 3 foot high grass, dying trees, missing shingles, wasp nest in eaves, wooden fence nearly collapsing. No coffee near room at 7 am, no treats in room, as advertised, only beverage available was bottled water. Room appeared clean, at eye level. Fireplace did not work, nightlight in bathroom did not work. Appeared to be pink mold on filter cover for jacuzzi, bed was rock hard, weather stripping at bottom of doors was shredded. Was not offered assistance to carry bags upstairs. Breakfast was very good, interior of house well kept. Pleasant owners.

Made a reservation at this Hotel for a night on the way to an Air Force Reunion. We drove 4 and a half hours to get there. We had email and text confirmation from the hotel. The text advised that if we arrived after 5pm, there would be a key in an envelope left on a table near the entry way. We arrived and there was no key left for us. There was however a key with another guests name on it. The room name stated in that envelope was not the room we had reserved. There were no employees on site at the time we arrived which was around 530pm. We called both numbers that were posted at the hotel but no one answered. We left multiple messages regarding our problem and no one has returned any of the calls even up until now(7/12). My wife was finally able to get a hold of reservation via phone. They were 100 miles away from the hotel and were also unable to reach any employees. Prior to our arrival this was the only hotel in town with any vacancies. Fortunately another hotel in town had a canceled reservation and we were able to secure a room thanks to Jay in reservations. This business has no respect for their customers. We could have been stranded there with no place to stay in town. We chose that town due to specific business that we wanted to visit. I wouldn't attempt to stay here again even if it was free and somebody gave me a ride.

We were so fortunate to have chosen this " Romantic B and B". We had the greatest stay in The Grand Victorian and the Big Little Town of Bellaire. It was the perfect stay and owners shared the full history of the house with us at the marvelous breakfast. This the only stay I have ever rated a full 10 ( including grand hotels all over the world.) A MUST STAY.

I am sad I have to write an unfavorable review as we had high expectations. This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast. What soured our stay was an issue with a broken skeleton key, and the way we were treated afterwards. We did use the key in the wrong lock (our room had two doors), and it broke when we got stuck inside the room. We told the owners in the morning, and they had to call someone in to fix it. The owners then tried to make us pay for the new key. We didn't feel we should pay for it because we weren't being malicious. We had no idea the one key did not work for both of our doors. Either way, the male owner was rude when we told him about the issue, and when he tried to make us pay for it. The wife was much nicer, and did try to politely deal with the situation. We will not be going back. However, I will say the B&B is beautiful, and well taken care of. It was also very clean. The one breakfast we stayed for was delicious, but we chose not to stay for the second morning because of the way we were treated.

I hesitate to write, but think others should be aware if they choose to stay at The Grand Victorian B&B. Upon arriving, I was concerned when I saw there was no appearance of Victorian landscaping as the flower beds and shrubbery have been completely neglected. Thankfully, the house itself is being cared for immaculately and the interior is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, the current owners are more museum curators than innkeepers and have no concept of hospitality. We have stayed for years at many different bed & breakfasts which have all been historic homes. At each location, we have been allowed to use tables and spaces outside our rooms to play cards and chess. The room rate at The Grand Victorian allows you to use the area in your room, the porch and the dining room from 9:00-10:00 for breakfast only. While we did one evening use a coffee table, chairs and sofa to play cards, the owner was obviously rattled by the situation and questioned us at 10:30 whether we shouldn’t be going to bed. We did enjoy the telling of the history of the home during our first breakfast and the generous portions of fresh fruit, but the remainder of the breakfast while better than hotel fare was not from scratch. When my husband asked to use the dining table which was not being used to play chess, he was told he could not and needed to go pack (not sure how a man could need more than 10 minutes to pack). The guys were able to play chess on the porch off one of our rooms while we ladies finished getting ready. I will not detail the other rude comments and awkward situations which we endured. The Grand Victorian is an amazing house which we are glad we were able to see. However, we will not be returning and want others to be aware as trying to clarify information prior to arrival is challenging as there is a language and culture disparity with the current owners.

Breakfast: so-so baked eggs with cheese one day, real good quiche the second; fruit cup both days, STORE-BOUGHT mini muffins both days, orange juice only, good coffee. Paperwork mentions "afternoon treats" - never saw those.
New owners took over in April. Lot of antiques in a house that was built in 1895, and the decorative wood work will take the owner about a month to paint every few years. Bath puts a new meaning into "turn a closet into a bath", and really jams it in there. We had the Balcony room, excellent bed, very thin pillows, balcony attached but only warm enough on one evening. Owners somewhat withdrawn - plentiful brochures for touring lying around and discounts at the excellent brewery in town. Inadequate lighting in hallway.

The place is run by new owners. We toured the house awhile back and the house landscaping and flowers were gorgeous. The old owners were very friendly and the house was well maintained.
After driving four hours we arrived there at 2:15 PM. Checkin time is 3 p.m. I needed to use the restroom and they refused to let us in. The steps need repair, weeds and no flowers, fireplaces in two rooms don't work. However, the bed was comfortable and room was clean, breakfast was acceptable. I would not recommend this to a friend.

I believe pets are not allowed. I would look under polices if not I would call the B&B.
