A small, unassuming sign on Brady Road in Bannister, Michigan welcomes you to a winding driveway that leads you to the majestic Oak Creek Lodge. Entering the lodge with my parents we were immediately greeted by Jeff, one of the proprietors. We met and had the opportunity to visit with Tracie later in our stay. He warmly welcomed us, gave us a tour with highlights of the shared areas including a lovely open kitchen where breakfast is homemade daily, the patio, the pool, the dining room, and mentioned the downstairs game room. When my dad took an interest in the equipment on site to move large rocks, like an old friend Jeff told him about the special project he and Tracie were undertaking to create more space to be able to host intimate weddings. I half-jokingly pointed out to my dad a day later that expansion space including the rock retaining wall had been completed in record time, unlike many of his projects. Our room was quaint and the beds extremely comfortable, according to my Fitbit two of the three nights of our stay I actually achieved 8 hours of quality sleep (that’s a record). We all slept well and ate well. Depending on when you wake fresh coffee, fruit, and homemade cake or muffins are awaiting your arrival even before a specialty breakfast is served at 8:59 each morning. You know, on the hour is such a yesterday trend. During our stay breakfast ranged from specialty pancakes like their delicious banana nut to Frittatas with a side of breakfast meat. There is something for even the pickiest of eaters - I should know, I am one of them. Jeff and Tracie ask about any preferences or allergies when they confirm your reservation. Snacks and drinks are available for self-service throughout the day. Tracie was very kind in sharing the secret of how she made her Cinnamon Cake so moist. I can’t say, but if you ask Tracie she might share her secret with you as well. We wish Oak Creek Lodge were closer to home (Ohio – 5 hours and Pennsylvania – 10 ½ hours), as it would be the perfect place for a family reunion. The lodge is warm, friendly, and special. They say home is where your heart is. Jeff and Tracie are an amazing couple that have put their heart in to creating a place that is special to them that they willing extend as they welcome each of their guests. We will continue to eagerly follow their Facebook page and watch as their English Garden, open-air chapel, and Tuscan wedding venues come to life over the next few weeks. These new amenities will allow even more guests to create wonderful memories during their stay at Oak Creek Lodge. Wishing Tracie and Jeff continued success. If we make it back to the area, there is only one place we would want to stay, the Oak Creek Lodge. …
We were a part of the wedding celebration of our grandson, Jacob. Traci and Jeff made us feel so welcome. Our stay in the spacious Suite was great. Very comfortable and well furnished. The food was very good and the attention to detail left nothing to be desired. A wonderful weekend!
My family just booked the whole lodge to stay at for my sisters wedding. How wonderful it was! The owners were so GREAT and welcoming and it was beautiful. Many great rooms to choose from, a pool, and a game room downstairs. The beds are super comfy and the breakfast was SO good! You could walk around the whole lodge and not feel like you were being a pest. My husband and I have already talked about going back just for a couples get away! We can't wait!
We had a increible time at the lodge. They are an outgoing and authentic couple! Our family had an amazing experience between the rehersal and dinner to having family stay over for the wedding! Thank you so much for everything you guys did to make it an incredible weekend :)
My wife and I had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding at the Oak Creek Lodge. We used the large back yard for rehearsing, and the owners set up extra tables in the dining area to accommodate our group and caterer for dinner. I along with family and friends also stayed the night at the lodge afterwards. The owners were SO friendly and accommodating for all of this. The rooms were great and the lodge in general is very nicely furnished. The breakfast was great too and very complete. They truly bent over backwards to make our stay excellent. The experience was great and my expectations were exceeded. Looking for a friendly, peaceful, quality place to relax? The Oak Creek Lodge is the spot! Thank you for the great customer service!
