Tastefully decorated and beautifully maintained, located in the heart of Woods Hole village, Woods Hole Inn is the perfect place to relax and enjoy all that this vibrant little village has to offer. Bath salts nestled in a rolled towel were just the incentive I needed to soak in a warm tub after a busy day hiking around the area. Loved waking up to the foghorn. The included breakfast buffet is a great way to start the day. Friendly, helpful staff—definitely worth a return visit!

We spent last weekend at the Woods Hole Inn to celebrate our 54th wedding anniversary. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and found a chilled bottle of sparkling wine when we arrived in our room. The location is great...right in the middle of Woods Hole near the ferry terminal. Our room was very comfortable and well furnished. Breakfasts were excellent. We brought our bikes and the beginning of the Shining Sea bike trail is a few steps from the inn. We inadvertently left some articles of clothing behind and they were kind enough to find them and send than back to us. We'll definitely be back.

My husband came across this place to stay as we wanted to venture into Martha’s Vineyard but not pay an exorbitant amount per night while on the island. We also wanted to stay at a quaint little inn with little to no contact due to the covid pandemic. Check in was a breeze as our hotel key and information was in a sealed envelope on the front desk waiting for our arrival. Our room was called the quissett room. It was a king size room with A/C, tv and mini fridge were included. The bed was ultra comfortable and the sheets were amazing! The bathroom in this specific room was very small. Loved how inviting and friendly the staff was and how we really didn’t see a lot of people while staying on the property. Woods Hole Inn is within walking distance to get to the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard. Woods Hole Inn is across the street from two seafood restaurants. It’s also around the corner from a bakery. There is a liquor store around the corner from this inn and a taco place attached to the Inn that I will review in another post. We had to park our car elsewhere as this Inn doesn’t have onsite parking. The parking is designated by the Inn and it’s included in the price of your stay but it’s at another location which is also within walking distance. I would love to come back here and stay as I felt very comfortable and safe while staying here. We used the patio which we had all to ourselves and we were able to enjoy some wine and watch the sunset. Thank you to Amanda and Gabriella for such an inviting stay while we were here.

We just spent six nights at the Woods Hole Inn! The whole staff was SO accommodating- initially we were booked into the cottage and we decided we’d be more comfortable in the main inn. The staff immediately worked to accommodate us to a room in the Inn. They also cared for my dietary needs, assisted us with plans for our days, parking and more! They were fun, kind and friendly! Additionally we loved the history of the place and truly enjoyed the location near the ferry docks. The Landfall Restaurant was dynamite for evening meals. Overall all great stay. The only constructive item I would mention, the sheets were 100% polyester. I’m not used to sleeping on synthetic fibers and felt like the sheets stuck to me. Would definitely prefer cotton! The rest was wonderful ☺️

My husband and I somewhat stumbled upon Woods Hole Inn while traveling in New England…and I am SO thankful we did!
The location is fabulous for those traveling in the Cape and/or on the Woods Hole ferry to Martha’s Vineyard - the ferry is literally just steps away.
We saw multiple rooms upon our arrival and got to pick which we wanted to stay in. I understand this wouldn’t have happened in the heat of summer travel, but it worked out for us in traveling after Labor Day. All rooms were SUPER clean and cozy. The bed was one I did not want to get out of - SO COMFORTABLE!
The manager, Amanda, was beyond kind in providing recommendations and investing in wanting us to have a good experience.
The breakfasts were lovely - homemade granola and banana and lemon bread were highlights along with yummy protein options. Visiting with staff during this time was wonderful as well.
Landfall, a bar and restaurant right across the street, and Pie in the Sky, a bakery and coffee shop right next door were both fantastic.
I plan to stay here again when I take my mom to the Cape in the future. DON’T hesitate to book a stay at Woods Hole Inn!

We booked a 4-day stay at Woods Hole Inn as part of a trip to Boston and Providence. Woods Hole Inn is conveniently located (1.5 blocks to the ferry, 1 block to the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute's (WHOI) visitor center and the Marine Biology Laboratory Visitor Center; only a few blocks to the aquarium and the WHOI Discovery Center. There are several good restaurants nearby (We enjoyed Landfall and Pie in the Sky), as well as several art galleries and shops. The Woods Hole Inn's staff were friendly and helpful, and they served delicious homemade breakfasts, which could be enjoyed in the dining room or outside on the terrace. Please be aware that there are steps to get into the Inn. We booked the Quissett room, which is on the lowest (main) level of the Inn. Consider the extra steps required for rooms located on the second level. There is no elevator. This is an older building; our bathroom was small but adequate. The room was clean; the bed and bath linens were nice.

It was blustery outside in mid-February, but a hot cup of herbal tea, awaited us back at the welcoming Woods Hole Inn after a loop on foot through the picturesque town. Friendly/helpful staff, lovely room, amazing French bakery steps away and a special public library well worth visiting. We can't wait to return for more Maison Villatte treats, another dinner at Anejo Mexican Bistro in nearby Falmouth, and a visit to the Woods Hole Historical Museum. One of the best parts of this mini-getaway was meeting many lovely people. Caution: do not try to drive onto Penzance Point, guarded by an offensively rude "gate"-keeper.

The Woods Hole in is right downtown and walking distance to the harbor (ferry to the islands). It's a lovely old building and our room was well appointed, clean and bright. I found the mattress a little too soft. As there seems to be almost zero parking in Woods Hole during the season, this hotel gives you a place to park your car (to take the ferry or go anywhere), which is extremely convenient. We appeared to be the only guests during pre-season, which made it all very quiet; I assume it's louder during the summer. The Inn offered a great breakfast, water, tea, coffee etc. at all times and the staff was very friendly. As appears to be usual ,there is no check-in person and hence, you end up carrying your luggage up the steep stairs yourself. That's my only reason to take off a star; it would be nice to be asked if one wanted help with luggage. I would definitely come back here.

Do not be fooled by this Inn. I paid almost $500 a night to be in a room with no view that was basically a tiny converted garage. My friends stayed in a room that had power lines as a view. The breakfast was sub-par. And each tiny water bottle in your room, that looks like it's complementary, was $3 each without any sign or indication that it was not included in the exorbitant room fee. Surely the Inn can provide better customer service, especially for this price. A total rip off.

Response from Beth Colt, Owner at Woods Hole Inn
Responded Sep 26, 2022
The Woods Hole Inn is an historic structure overlooking the harbor that has been beautifully restored. When we started back in 2008, rooms were priced at less than half of where we now find ourselves. But reputation, inflation and the relentless demand for our prime location has shifted that over the many years. Providing competitive pay, health insurance and many other benefits to our loyal staff has also become increasingly costly. We find that our loyal guests understand the value proposition and return year after year, often for weeks at a time, to experience our service and prime location. We are so sorry that the Woods Hole Inn was not for you. There are less expensive places in Falmouth, and our front desk is happy to coach you towards other options. Water is provided free throughout the inn and additional boxed water is provided for a modest fee. Thank you for your feedback. As with all reviews, we take it very seriously.

Hi SharonJS2,
Our Tisbury queen room is only 3 steps to get inside. The rest of the rooms you would need to go up at least 8 stairs to get inside the building. The staff is happy to assist with luggage when able. -Amanda
Hi Suzanne - The inn is located in a 1870's Victorian building in the middle of Woods Hole village and there is no room for a pool indoors or out. We offer beach towels and many guests choose to walk ten minutes to one of two lovely beaches -- Nobska Beach or Stoney Beach. There are also two motels right in town (Sands of Time and Sleepy Hollow) both of which offer pools in season only. I hope that helps. best -- Beth
Hi Suzanne -- The inn does not have a pool, inside or out. We are about a ten minute walk from two lovely Cape beaches -- Nobska Beach and Stoney Beach. Hope that helps. --Beth
