I was in town for a funeral and the reviews of this hotel were excellent and the rates extremely affordable. I booked through an online reseller.
The brick building is an old school, I believe and looks very discreet and unassuming from the outside.
Check-in was easy and I had called ahead to sat I would be late, so I was greeted by name and checked in quickly.
My room was beautiful, but it wasn’t a room, it was a suite! Small kitchenette with full fridge, living area with big TV & pull-out couch, and closed bedroom with double bed. The bathroom offered two doors for access from the bedroom or hallway.
All this just steps away from Winthrop beach. A one-block walk to the ocean and voilà.
Breakfast is offered daily. Cereal, bagels, cheese & cold cuts mostly and of course, COFFEE.
I highly recommend this hotel!

Quite near the airport (very near the car rental depot), this place met my criteria for being close by Logan Int'l and having some historical value. I would not have known anything about this little tucked-away corner of the Boston metro area, Winthrop, almost an island unto itself. Great little community and wish I could have spent longer there.

Very nice & roomy boutique style hotel. There are no elevators as it’s an older building. The bar downstairs was a nice quiet place to unwind. The hotel is right near the bay. There is no hotel desk clerk, so if you need something in the middle of the night, there is LITERALLY NO ONE to contact. The restaurant staff ck you in. They said the hotel owner is working on staffing a clerk. Otherwise it’s a lovely out of the busyness of Boston place to stay.

Staff is rude and act like you’re not even standing there waiting. Hospitality isn’t their strong suit. Breakfast was subpar. The rooms were stained on the couch, bed and the bathroom tub did not drain so my shower was cut short. When I told the front desk they said “ management has known about the issue and are working on it” management? They offered no money off for our troubles and I left feeling fooled out of money. Not my first choice anymore when visiting the area and I’d rather pay more somewhere else knowing I’ll get actual food, a working tub and a polite front desk. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone. The outside look historic which is fine though the inside is renovated. That being said, it’s freezing in the halls and the heat sucked in our room. The kitchen was an icebox which made it unbearable to sit and eat any longer than 5 mins. We left and ate elsewhere.

On check in day I received a text stating that there was no front desk person working after 4 which is fine, I received my door code and hotel room number. She told me that she was the inn keeper and to text her if I needed anything during my stay. She then proceeded to tell me that there was no parking available and to park on the street- which is fine besides the fact that I had paid $15 for parking. I told her this and she said they don't have paid parking in which I sent her a picture of my receipt. She apologized and said she would refund me. When we got to the Inn around 1030 pm we noticed the comforter had a large hole in it. When we pulled back the sheets they had several stains and hair in the bed. I texted her the photos and asked if we could have additional sheets brought up to which she replied "sorry we don't have housekeeping on staff right now" I tried to explain that we would change the sheets ourselves and that she could leave them at the door with more blankets and TP. She just kept saying there was no housekeeping. She offered to give us a 20% discount. I told her we would not sleep in a dirty bed and asked if we left could we get a full refund. To that she replied "yes that is fine". Horrible service- we left at 11:00 pm, I refused to give that establishment any money for that!

The prices of the hotel are great! I would love coming more for what they have to offer. The rooms are big and isn't dirty but I don't feel as welcomed. I also pay half of my stay so I expect to be treated with respect and feeling comfortable. The young female should probably get another job. She is rude and stares too much every time we have to see her, I don't feel she is doing her job right for us staying as guest. We understand there is different parking spaces available so we've handled that, it should not have to be a 15 almost 20 minute waste of time where I have to wait in the room. The windows are very open to the other apartments, not so much privacy. As for some of the rooms there should have already been cleaned and fixed for the next stay. Too much needing assistance for what they should have already done. I like privacy too. This recent stay was horrible throughout the day very loud conversations in the hallways till 4-5am in the morning. It was disrespectful to both of us to hear obnoxious loud conversations, running and jumping in the halls and slamming doors. We could barely sleep. I would give positive advice to make better changes and rules for families, couples, businesses, solos, friends to have a more comfortable stay and a positive vibe next time with the helpers too. Then maybe we would come back after a few changes! Winthrop has very beautiful views and places all around there!

Super handy for Logan, lovely clean room with big comfy bed. We dropped our bags and headed out for walk along the sea front the Lyft’ed into the city for drinks and dinner. Took 15-20, and cost $13-15. Got back and watched the game on the big tv. Lots of space and half the price of a ‘brand’ at the airport. There was a slight commotion next door and as we had an early flight to LA, we asked to be moved. The desk couldn’t help us enough. Great service and very thoughtful to let us move rooms. Thanks again. J&M

Showed up straight from the airport. Place was locked and no one to check me in. Had a paid reservation and everything. I stood outside in the cold calling their number with no lock. Then I call Hotwire. They try to get in touch with them, and nothing. I then had to find a place to sleep, so I just booked this expensive hotel on my credit card. Never experienced anything like this. It was almost 2am by the time I got to my new room

I was very pleased with Winthrop Beach Inn and Suites. Like one of the previous reviews stated this is a Hidden Gem. Very friendly staff....check in was great. We asked where there was a good restaurant in the area. She recommended D Parma just down the road (Fantastic Ma and Pa place). Our room was very clean and nice. Equipped with a small kitchenette. Breakfast great. I would totally recommend this place.

This pleasant hotel is a bit out of the way as you need to travel some distance into central Boston, however the hotel is very clean and the room we had was large and well decorated.
Breakfast is self service and continental however the fresh bread is excellent and there is plenty of food on the simple buffet set out on the downstairs kitchen area.
The lady receptionist was very helpful and took time to print us maps to make sure we knew where we were going in Boston.
To use public transport you need to take the 12 or 13 bus to the T station- Ocean Heights. Then take the subway into Boston. It’s very easy however the buses do not give change so you need dollar bills or coins. The bus journey is $1.
This hotel is very close to sea and a quieter place to stay. We would recommend.

Hi Emily!
Unfortunately, we DO NOT offer any shuttle services. However, we do work with a local taxi company who gives our guests a flat rate to or from the airport. If you are thinking of booking and need transportation, we suggest calling the front desk to get their number.
We can always setup pick ups from the hotel to Logan. However, guests must contact them directly from Logan.
Uber/Lyft is also very common and very easy to access around the area.
Please let us know if you have any questions!
Hi. The front desk is very accommodating
I hv been told when hot the a/c is turned on
Hi Katie!
We have a seasonal AC/Heating system which means we can only have hot or cold. The AC was an issue last year because our system completely broke down. We have since replaced it and is working perfectly fine. We had a few negative reviews because of the AC at the beginning of the month because we had not yet switched over as we were experiencing weather varying from low 30's to high 70's for a few days.
Even though our system is seasonal, we are prepared with additional fans and space heaters on site, in the event that the guest is too hot or too cold.
I hope I have answered your question! Please let us know if anything else comes to mind :)
Hello! Our Deluxe Queen Suites are slightly larger and come with a small breakfast bar that our Standard Queen Suites are not equipped with!
