This place was great, the ski package was affordable, the room was clean and charming, close to Jiminy Peak and Jill the proprietor was incredibly sweet and welcoming to us. Free breakfast in the morning, free calls if you can't get cell service, and in the morning we drove 5 minutes to check out Spring St and Williams College and... More

I planned a surprise anniversary trip to the Mass Museum of Contemporary Art for me and my wife and we stayed her overnight in December. Jill the innkeeper emailed me before our stay to ask if we needed anything. I replied that I'd like a bouquet of flowers to be waiting for my wife upon arrival. Jill asked me for... More

The property is in decent shape on the outside, but the room that I had was designed in 1960. This place is definitely due for an upgrade. Also, during the night, we heard some kind of creature running around above the ceiling tiles. Needs some work.

The location is choice in the gorgeous Berkshires. This inn is more like staying at a friend's home because of the excellent value for the modest cost and warm ambiance that exudes from the obliging, friendly and helpful proprietor, Jill Ryder. Rooms at the back face a babbling brook and gazebo looking into a thicket of gorgeous color, especially now,... More

This place had such great reviews on Trip Advisor, but it was very disappointing. It's a motel, and not even a "converted motel." Rooms were musty and damp, bathroom was dirty, hairs in shower. Tiny, thin towels and one tiny bar of soap. Peeling wallpaper, low ceilings. No working WiFi and no cell service in their location! (Real Walden Pond... More

I booked my stay at this inn based on prior reviews by other travelers and was not disappointed. This was a perfect base for exploration of the Berkshire towns and southern Vermont. The theatre festival was just a short drive from the inn, and there are excellent restaurants minutes away. The grounds are exceptionally well-maintained, and I wish I had... More

I have been staying here for 10 years. The Inn is fabulous. Comfortable rooms and beds; reasonable rates, a babbling brook just out back; a comfortable outdoor pool; excellent and varied breakfast which is included. This is a treat, as breakfast is often included in European hotels but rarely in America. The innkeeper and staff are great- friendly, helpful and... More

A lovely place in a lovely setting with the most accommodating hostess. Jill could not do enough to ensure that our stay was a pleasant one. The rooms are clean if not spacious, but certainly good for a quiet nights sleep. A very low key friendly place perfect for unwinding. The breakfast was served in a bright clean room, with... More

In my ~ 45 years of traveling, this is in the top 3 mistakes I have made. I THOUGHT I had done due diligence w/ Trip Advisor, but either I missed some clue-warnings, or people didn't bother to post complaints, or people have very diff taste than mine. My take on this innkeeper is that she has had enough; now... More

I am happy this guest enjoyed our lovely property during her 3 day stay. It is unfortunate that she never once came into the lobby or to breakfast to meet me or my staff in person. Our #1 goal is to assure our guests have a great stay with us. Should there be any issues, we stand ready to address... More

The setting, proximity to Williamstown, and attractive package deal including two tickets to the Clark made this a good lodging choice. The setting includes a lovely breakfast patio with all sorts of blossoming plants (website photo doesn't lie). The back has a gazebo where you can enjoy a drink and listen to a babbling brook. It is within a few... More
