We stayed one night and found it to be comfortable, and enjoyable. The old Victorian home has been in their family for many years and is well-appointed, with lots of history as well as the owners artwork. We stayed in the Scotty and Zelda room and found the bed to be firm and comfortable for us. The grounds around the home are beautifully landscaped, with several Garden sitting areas where you can enjoy the greenery and landscaping. For any Travellers that are expecting the latest and greatest in technology and modern appointments, pass this beauty by. The draw of this old home is its history and contents.

I cannot warn people away from this place enough! It was, by far, the worst experience I have ever had. I made the reservation a week in advance (I also confirmed a couple days ahead of my arrival), and, when I arrived in town, I called as per her instructions. No answer. I had to call several times, and finally go up to the door and ring the bell several times. Finally, they answered the door. I introduced myself, and expected apologies for not answering the phone/door. What I got were scowls from both husband and wife. He clearly had no knowledge I was even coming. Finally, I was let in and she looked very confused about what to do. He told her which room to put me in, and she said to follow her upstairs. I expected him to follow with my larger bag. Nope. He stood there with a scowl looking from my bag to me, so I went back downstairs, and I proceeded to bring my bag up. Finally, when I was halfway up, he helped out. This was just the beginning of my experience. The room I was first out in was filthy. Even the sheets were dusty. There were cobwebs under the furniture, as well. It was freezing. There was a tiny, broken, television. She decided to move me to a slightly larger room which was in the same condition, but with a working tv. Inested of being made to feel like a paying guest, I was made to feel as if I was imposing on them. Again, this room was ice cold, as it was November. He said that's it. They had heat in their section, but this was it for this room. The radiator was ice cold. He grudgingly went downstairs and turned the heat up a bit, but decided instead to bring a tiny soace heater to the room. Never a smile, apology...nothing the least bit cordial. I had been promised a nice breakfast with coffe and fresh baked pastries, etc in the morning. Again, Nope! Nothing. There was a dirty little coffee pot. No milk. No pasties. Nothing. Not even dishes. When I finally escaped that morning to go out for something to eat, I happened to forget my wedding ring. Well, I called and had to go back and ring the doorbell yet again to finally get an answer. They stood there in the foyer, and he wouldn't let her give me back my ring!!! He statprted acting like I hadn't paid them, and when I said I had, indeed, paid her the previous evening, he looked at her for confirmation, and she nodded. Then, he finally allowed her to release my ring! I warn anyone expecting any semblance of hospitality to stay away from this place. Honestly, if I could rate this place a zero, I would. You can definitely find a nice hotel room for the same price.

We got the bed, very very firm, felt like i was levitating above it. However, I'm not sure where the breakfast came in as we were directed to a dinner on main st. The hosts could not have been less helpful or interested in our needs.

We were pleasantly surprised at the lovely Victorian home on Linden Street, just a couple of blocks from the town centre. It was lavishly furnished, and we could have spent our whole stay just admiring the eclectic furnishings obtained over the years by host Karen Talley. We had probably the nicest room, Scottie and Zelda, but the other rooms were excellent too. The bed was extremely comfortable and continental breakfast the next morning was plentiful, though nothing is cooked. In spite of that we found it quite adequate, but if you need a full cooked breakfast you won't find one in any Massachusetts bed and breakfasts as they seem to be prohibited by law from offering cooked meals, even breakfast. Don't worry though as there are breakfast joints on the main street just a few blocks away. The living room was fantastic, with lots of books and a TV (only basic cable we learned). The hosts, Karen and Ed, were extremely gracious, and appeared when needed, and disappeared when not. They are a wealth of local knowledge and helped us plan our visit to Cape Cod and Plymouth without a hitch. On the way out to the parking area behind the house Karen has a raspberry patch. We hope she didn't mind us scrumping a few fresh raspberries from her bushes. They were delicious!

I had a decent stay and it wad a good value. The inn was quaint, but somehow I felt more like I was a border in a house, rather than a guest at a bed and breakfast. The breakfast was a continental breakfast (cereal, instant oatmeal, coffee, tea, and juice). However you can go into town and get a hot breakfast pretty easily, quickly, and cheaply. There was a bit of musty odor throughout the house, but the place seemed pretty clean. Overall, the inn was adequate. You can't beat it for the price.
