About
Description
World class beaches, biking trails, art galleries, and a variety of preservation lands are among the island's many attractions. Favorite destinations include the Aquinnah Clay Cliffs, Chappaquiddick Island, the More Menemsha Fishing Village, and the Gingerbread houses of Oak Bluffs. Famous for its beauty and diverse geographical landscape, visitors to the Vineyard quickly become enchanted by "the land beyond the sea beyond the land." Centrally locate on the isle of Cape Cod, our hostel remains in the 1950's architectural style it was constructed in, as the country's first youth hostel, over four decades ago. This is in keeping with the quiet, traditional atmosphere on the island. Attractions include local crafts and galleries but the real magic of Cape Cod lies in it's relaxing ambience. The Island of Martha's Vineyard has long been a favorite destination for exploration and recreation. World class beaches, biking trails, art galleries, and a variety of preservation lands are among the island's many attractions. 1) The place was BROILING. No air conditioning in a lace with no breeze whatsoever means thismid-Island location is stifling on a hot suumer’s day — or night! Plus the other reviewer wrote exactly what we thought: captive audience in ultra-pricey, sold-out resort area, so...More

The HI Martha's Vineyard is a wonderful place to spend your Vineyard Summer holiday. The bedroom, kitchen, and den are sparkling clean. The bus stops at the Hostel. The Hostel staff is highly professional and helpful. The nightly rates are most reasonable.

This is my 2nd hostel I have used within HI Hostel. I was disappointed to have no AC but you don't really need it as there is enough of a breeze at night. Staff was helpful, explained best way to get around island(the public bus),...More

We stayed at this hostel last summer, last minute, because it was possibly the last room available on the island. The only vacant space at the hostel was the private room. So I can't rate the rest of the facility like the dorm rooms, which...More
