Let me start by saying customer service is everything in my book. When we arrived for check in at around 3:15; the office was locked, our last name and room number were written on a white board outside of the office. There was a beat up, dirty, land line phone on the wall with a note that said press redial to get help and a phone number posted above. I was very confused when I picked up the phone, followed the instructions and got voice mail. I was even more confused when I used my cell phone to call the posted phone number and got voice mail several times. After calling the number many times, 20 minutes later, someone finally answered. The person on the other end was rude when all I wanted to do was check in. The directions listed online for checking in were not at all similar to what the man on the other end of the phone said. Apparently, they leave the room key in your unlocked room which is listed on that whiteboard. Now, the place was very clean and well kept. However, there were also limited instructions on how to check out. Again, the lack of customer service at this motel is problematic. Other than that, it is conveniently located and a good value for the price.…
My husband and I have been coming here for eight years from Upstate NY. The owners, Pam and Steve are two of the nicest, most accommodating hosts you could ask for. Not only is it always neat but also immaculately clean. Add to that the continental breakfast they provide (coffee and coffee cake) in the office every morning and it feels like staying with family. Perfect for couples and families looking for a safe, quiet, centrally located mid-Cape!
I booked a room here last minute for a quick trip last fall. The price was great for the location. It's hard to find a room in the Harwich/Chatham area for less than $100 per night. The room was clean, and the location was perfect. Here are my concerns: upon check in, your key is left in the room with the door unlocked. As a woman who often travels alone, this policy worries me. I felt as if I had to check the room thoroughly before settling in for the night. The bathroom is TINY. I am not tall but my legs nearly hit the wall from the toilet. I settled in for the night and could hear the couple next door arrive then could hear their conversations going on for hours. The room is decorated like a college dorm. It serves its purpose for just sleeping, but not much else. I actually moved the one chair up against the door to feel more secure.…
I specifically chose the place because it had a kitchenette and looked cozy, and the place was in a much better area than I expected! It's right down the street from a couple of the beach entrances (I'm partial to the Uncle Venies entrance), the restaurant Brax which has a long wait but really great appetizers, and lots of other attractions on the same route! Also, the guy running the place was great! He was super cool but also had great attention to detail which I really appreciated! When we asked him about things to do in the area he was super helpful and was able to recommend quite a couple places. I'd definitely stay here again :)
The GOOD: The establishment was easy to find just off the main road through Harwich. Clean rooms with comfortable beds. Super clean. Reasonably priced. Quiet surroundings. Coffee makers in the room. Very nice staff! The NOT so good: Very tiny bathrooms. I hit my knees on the wall every time I sat on the toilet, so I had to sit sideways. Small showers. No hairdryers and no toiletries. Also no iron which we needed to iron clothes for a wedding we were attending. The air conditioner struggled to cool the room and the outside temp was high 70's to low 80's. Overall the experience was good and I would challenge anyone to find a more reasonably priced place to stay in the VERY overpriced Cape Cod, MA. I would recommend for the budget-minded.
