My husband and I have just spent a magical 9 nights at VidaSoul, coming down here to relax and recharge, for sea and sand and food and a fabulously designed hotel in a style we love. The landscape, sunrises and sunsets, seeing turle eggs being layed on the beach, shopping in San Jose, Flora Farms lunch, driving up and down carefully on beaches and river beds, up to Santiago, an old mission etc etc, BUT mostly I just loved lying in my wonderful room reading and relaxing, watching the ocean and the friendly relaxed atmosohere and incredible friendly staff!!! Thank you to Carlos, Poli, Brian, Hector for the Fabulois food, Joan for having her business open and the gronda and cleaning staff. Thanks that u allow the neighborhood dogs in as I missed mine and they are all super friendly and the friendly roadrunner (we named “Fred”) that visited out room every morning!

We called to come for lunch they said they were open but didn’t tell us they were only servicing chicken. I understand it’s remote but could have let uS know. 70$ for 2 quesadillas, one chicken pasta and two beers. The most we spent in the East cape but far from the best.

I am sorry about this experience. We are never only serving chicken unless we have run out of fresh seafood and are waiting for a delivery. We have a large menu with many options of salads, other pastas and normally fresh seafood. I have recalculated their order and if you remove the tax of 16% it came to $47. There is nothing on our current menu over $25 and that includes the tax. People rave about our food and rarely complain about the price. Like everyone else, we have difficulties due to Covid and are short staffed. The person answering the phone saying we were open for lunch would have no idea of what was available and fresh that day, just to say we are open or make reservations for rooms.

Be very careful with them! They copy bank card information and steal from you. My friend and I stopped there for lunch. The food was nice, service was nice, we liked it. I paid with my card and we left. Two days later they charged me again, 33 dollars (our lunch cost less, so it's not some sort of system error). It seems that the data of my card was copied. I do have a charge limit set for the card just in case, because so often in Mexico sellers will take cards in their hands, so luckily they could not get more than 40 bucks. Their phone number doesn't work (buzon de voz), I had to block my card and now in trouble to get a new one as my card is a foreign one and my bank said that they'll do their best to return me my money but it is complicated with international charges.

I do apologize for the credit card machine not working at the restaurant that day causing us to charge in our office. It is possible there was a double charge but it would have been for the same amount. I did not receive a call or e-mail about this nor did the office. We have many phones to call us on and Whats App. I have no idea how the card could have been compromised in my office. I have had these things happen while traveling and never knew how it happened. If this actually happened it was a miscommunication between the restaurant and the office not an attempt to steal $40.

Vidasoul hotel is a modern oasis on the remote Eat Cape. The property is built enjoy the beach and ocean views. We booked the ocean front suite, which provided a panoramic view of the ocean and pool area. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Some of the team members were new, yet everyone worked together well. That friendly teamwork is important because of the remote and intimate setting. Special shout out to Nacho and Jesus for their help and excellent english skills.
