It's hard to even begin to list all the reasons we loved this trip. The attention to detail, caution, and obedience to COVID restrictions, delicious food, kind service, and a toilet that heats your buns and sprays you clean with warm water! WHAT!?!? Fresh flowers, beautiful grounds, great living spaces, and extraordinary hospitality! ALL TEN STAR!!! My friends and I rented the entire Inn for a birthday celebration, and it was amazing. We all had cozy private spaces and wonderful common spaces to share. We enjoyed breakfast by the pool, even in October, and socialized in 3 different living rooms. The island was lovely, the ocean sunsets spectacular, the shopping was impressive, and the food out was divine. WE will be back. This is like the perfect home away from home. You feel comfortable yet pampered beyond belief. Relaxed yet excited by all there is to do! If I could give them one hundred stars, I would take time to click everyone! Thanks, Charles & Charles, for memories we will cherish forever! #lovemyMVtime #loveC&CMV #MVSoulTime #MVRefreshed

Charles is super welcoming, communicative, and helpful. On top of that, he is a great chef - the breakfasts were unique, tasty, satisfying and very healthy. The room was bright and attractive, and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the bidet seat, as I have these in my home and miss them when travelling. Another bonus was a garage full of well-maintained bikes, complete with helmets, baskets and an air station. We were unable to find a nearby bike trail, but as one local informed us, the whole island is a bike trail! The B&B location is about 3 blocks off the main street, but easily walkable.

Our stay could not have been better. I highly recommend Charles and Charles. They take COVID precautions seriously, our rooms was spotless, full breakfasts were delicious by the pool, impeccable attention to detail overall, and such friendly hosts. They have nice bikes to borrow. Decor is adorable. Pool is clear and relaxing. Location is great.

My husband and I planned a mid-week trip to MV, and decided on Charles & Charles as our home base. This inn is conveniently located to downtown Vineyard Haven, yet resides in a quiet setting. The room and amenities were well considered (we stayed in the Oak Bluffs room) and made for a peaceful night's sleep and very comfortable stay. A delicious poolside breakfast, bikes, beach chairs and towels are provided for guests. We felt very welcome, and hope to return again in the future.

I love MV and have visited many many times and stayed at a variety of places, including some of the most expensive hotels. I like nice things. I will never bother with anywhere else again. Charles & Charles hit every mark for me (I will use semi-colons to delineate which superlatives go with which features): super clean and tastefully decorated rooms; comfortable beds; chill, nice, incredibly helpful owner (example: went out his way to make sure we were able to charge our electric car); awesome, peaceful location walking distance to downtown; lovely landscaping including a small outdoor pool; and the absolute best breakfast I've ever had at any hotel (or, like, possibly ever). I could definitely add more but you get the drift. There is no reason to stay anywhere else. Thanks for a terrific stay, we will (obviously) be back!

This was the finest B&B I have ever stayed in. From the moment of arrival to departure everything was perfect. Charles is the quintessential host. The B&B is on a quiet road in Vineyard Haven, an easy walk to the town, bus stop and Ferry Terminal. The gardens and landscaping are beautiful. The Vineyard Haven Suite was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were truly gourmet (everything homemade) and served poolside. The pool is not heated but by the end of June, it was warm enough for a refreshing swim. Bikes are included in the rental. Charles was gracious, accommodating and very helpful. This is my second time and it won't be the last.

I would return in a heartbeat. My daughter and I enjoyed a three day visit to Martha’s Vineyard. Charles was a very welcoming host who provided us with so much information before our arrival. The grounds were lovely and peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle. Parking available. Our suite was carefully prepared with top quality products and all the necessary kitchen items. A freshly prepared breakfast was served poolside. Beautifully presented and so delicious. We will definitely return.
Thank you, Charles.

In August 2020 my girlfriends and I stayed in the Edgartown apartment suite. I can't say enough about our great stay, the Inn and Charles of course. Charles was very helpful as I asked a lot of questions prior to our visit. The property grounds are beautiful and well maintained and Charles does a lot of work on it himself. Our apartment was nicely decorated, clean and had lots of extra towels. Pool towels are also provided which is a plus. One highlight of the trip were the delicious breakfasts that Charles prepares himself and are eaten by the pool. We looked forward to them every morning. We used the free bikes to ride all around and there were a few times when we were walking to town Charles would offer to give us a ride. It really was like having a friend on the Island.

It was a wonderful week overall. I highly recommend this Inn and if you get a chance get to know Charles because he has led such an interesting and cool life.

I loved my stay at Charles & Charles. I went here with my sister and before we pulled into the driveway, Charles was texting us to confirm that all was well with our arrival and asked if we needed any assistance. When we pulled into the driveway, we were warmly greeted by Charles, who helped us to our room and asked if we needed help picking restaurants or anything else to do. We used both of his dining recommendations and enjoyed some of the best meals. The unit we stayed in was so well laid out, with every detail thought about in advance, you could tell. The attention to detail is impressive. And we really enjoyed the welcome basket w wine, chocolate, snacks, and homemade cookies! Breakfast is included here, and we truly felt like we were in paradise; breakfast was served so beautifully and well thought out. We were in MV for the marathon, and Charles offered to drive us to the start line, which was so helpful and kind of him to do. They also have the most beautiful garden we had ever seen and nicknamed it the Secret Garden. We took numerous pictures in the garden and enjoyed sitting in the garden in peace. I could go on about how amazing our stay was here. We even brought a couple we made friends with at our race, back to stay at the hotel and they booked their own room since they did not enjoy their other hotel. They were very pleased with the upgrade at Charles and Charles. Even our Uber driver said she has heard great things about this hotel. If you can get into this hotel, do yourself a favor and book immediately. We plan on coming back here for the marathon next year as well. Love it :)

This place had been my first choice for a long time. Every year I’d think this is the year I’m going and then I’d wait too late and things would get booked up. But finally we made it. Pure bliss. Beautiful garden and pool area; calm, quiet and the suite was well appointed, spotless and very comfy. My only suggestion would be a tv in the sitting room to make it easier for guests to watch tv together vs going into one of the bedrooms. The toilet seat is out of this world and very pretty shower.

Breakfast was excellent; Charles, and Debbie who serves the breakfast were helpful in giving advice and directions. He even gave us a ride one day which was much appreciated before we got our rental car. It is walkable to the ferry though I wouldn’t advise doing so in the heat with heavy luggage.

Some advice - read the forums before you get there so you have a better sense of where you want to eat and what to do. We sort of winged it and while it all worked out, figuring things out like the bus routes and restaurant reservations before arriving would have probably saved us some time and money. Our first night was kind of a bust bc we didn’t know to make reservations and everywhere had a long wait or was closed. Also rent a car unless you really love biking (we do not). Lol

I’d absolutely stay here again.

At Christmas time, no. I was there in July. However, Charles the innkeeper has his email on their website and he was so informative when I planned my trip - told me everything that was available on the vineyard at that time and knew so much about what to do. I’d just shoot him an email. I also believe they are only open part of the year but not 100% sure. Again, I’d ask him and he can point you in the right direction if they do close during that time. Good luck.

Hello there: I am 100% certain that your question was for another reviewer. You should check it closely to make sure that whomever your post was for will receive it. I wrote an outstanding review for Charles & Charles and agree with you wholeheartedly. One of the best experiences I've had with a B&B as well. I am in fact a repeat visitor and will most assuredly be going back again next year. Good Luck getting your comment to the right party. Clearly it was NOT intended for me. Kind regards, Travelgoddess918
