It's just a short walk from the ferry to your Inn where Vineyard charm is blended into a Martha's Vineyard hotel. Inside Mansion House Inn, guests get a touch of seaside elegance with a taste of Island casual. Each guest is treated to free use of the pool, spa and health club. The harbor viewing cupola is a special place to bring take-out or a drink while viewing the sail boats, ferry and harbor lights. Mansion House offers 48 rooms and suites. Some deluxe rooms and suites offer soaking tubs, fireplaces and balconies with views of Vineyard Sound. A limited number of Pet friendly rooms offer easy first floor access, town view balconies and two double beds. From romantic couples, families to small meetings, the Inn staff takes care of your vacation needs. The best of the Vineyard is within easy walking distance. Movies, indoor and outdoor restaurants, live theater, art galleries, and public beaches are a short stroll from Mansion House's door. Day sails on vessels great and small, kayak, public bus transportation and bicycle rentals are only a block away. One of several Vineyard golf courses, Mink Meadows, is a quick five-minute taxi or drive. Mansion House's concierge can assist with arranging all these activities. Though off-street parking is available, there's no great need to bring a car. Relax in the Day Spa or enjoy the beach, create a family reunion or event, Mansion House Inn offers great Vineyard value.

Detailed Reviews
We were celebrating my husband's birthday and selected Mansion Inn based on the reviews and it's easy walk to the ferry. Everyone on the hotel staff was welcoming. We arrived early on a Sunday afternoon and our room was available so we were able to drop our bags and go out. Two features we really enjoyed was the library room with dining tables where we were able to meet with our friends, and the roof deck lounge area which offered a beautiful view of the harbor. On checking out, my husband forgot his sunglasses. We were thrilled to find out the housekeeping staff found them and we retrieved them before leaving! Shout out to Housekeeping :). Lastly, keep in mind that restaurant options are limited this time of year so do some research in advance. Vineyard Haven seemed to have the most options between Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. Otherwise the grocery store is around the corner and there's a small in room refrigerator.

Family took a little 3 day trip to the vineyard, the mansion house was charming, friendly and clean. They had many things in place to help with the stay because of Covid-19 such as, codes to get into the hotel, hand sanitizer and wipes at all elevator entrances. The staff was very helpful with recommendations around town for great places to eat and beaches to visit. It is also located right next to many cute local shops and restaurants. We will definitely return at a later date to enjoy the full experience the hotel has to offer.

My wife and I visited the Mansion House in May of 2021. This was our fourth visit in five years as we weren't able to go in 2020 due to the covid pandemic. We were pleased to find that we had the same great experience that we have in the past even though it was at the tail end of the pandemic and masks were required while in the hotel common areas. The staff was very courteous and friendly as always. They had a great assortment of items available in their continental breakfast area, including yogurt, granola bars, individually packaged cereals, fruit, and packaged coffee cakes. They also had milk, coffee, and tea for available beverages. The Mansion House is a short walk from the ferry terminal but if you bring your car over to the island, as we do, they have their own reserved parking area which comes in handy. Our room was ready when we arrive a little before checkin time and we were able to move our things in early. Our room was on the second floor with a balcony that fronted on Main Street in Vineyard Haven. It was clean and and seemed a little more roomy than others we have been in there. One of the reasons that we like the Mansion House is that they have both a gym and a pool. My wife is a swimmer who likes to swim every day and the lap pool at the hotel certainly meets her needs. Due to the pandemic there were no group water aerobic classes this year so she was able to swim pretty much at her convenience. If you visit the Mansion House make sure you visit the roof top deck as you can get some great views of the Harbor and steamships coming and going. We strongly recommend the Mansion House if you are visiting Martha's Vineyard and hope to go back again next year.

+ Lower your expectations greatly and then lower them even further.
+ Prepare to pay Ritz-level rates in exchange for Motel 6 hospitality.
+ Note that inconveniencing the staff with petty requests for a clean towel, a bucket of ice, or a paper plate is not welcomed.

Response from Josh Goldstein, Owner at Mansion House
Responded Jun 30, 2020
She tried to “shake” us down by threatening a bad review. Apparently she and her husband do this for entertainment as they kept calling as they drove away from the ferry. The special they enjoyed was stay four days, pay for three. On top of that we gave an additional discount so they would not harass our staff, who did not enjoy being cursed out. Covid has indeed changed how we can do things and we are really proud of our excellent housekeeping and how we are diligently following the Commonwealth’s instructions. If you read their other reviews they apparently consistently dislike their hospitality choices. Wow. The husband even mentioned calling Alan Greenspan..Double Wow. I hope they find a vacation destination that caters to their crankiness. Sometimes it is our fault, no Inn is perfect, and we apologize and learn from the encounter and try to make things right for our guest. But some people just need to be unhappy.

I enjoyed my stay at Mansion House Inn. The location is excellent and convenient. If you don't have a car, it's about 3 blocks from the bus stop which has 5 different bus lines and routes. The hotel itself is pretty and the rooms are clean and quiet. The staff are extremely helpful, warm, welcoming and professional. I recommend this hotel to anyone! The bus drivers and taxi drivers know about the hotel, it's a well known hotel and location and so it's an easy site for them to locate and find.

The Mansion House is a true treasure to experience. Upon arriving, you are greeted with an enthusiastic welcome from Lisa. She truly makes you feel like you are indeed a journeyer who is being welcomed home. This is our second stay in recent times at the Mansion House, which is becoming an annual tradition. The greeting is followed by, opening your door to a very clean, tidy accommodation; this time with a view of the harbor. Watching and listening to the ferries depart is truly magical. Wake up in the morning and head to the library for a lovely breakfast, with many choices of cereal, pastries, yogurt and an array of beverages. You can enjoy breakfast in front of an inviting fireplace or take it to the cupola. Now the cupola is an another place to behold in this lovely hotel, with panoramic views of this special island. You feel truly welcomed at this well maintained, conscientiously priced, beautifully appointed hotel on an island that soothes your soul.

My boyfriend and I came to the island to visit my daughter and the mansion house made it the most memorable stay! The location from the ferry made the travel so much less stressful. The staff (Chase) was very friendly at check in and we were able to get right up to our beautiful room! Our balcony looked right out over the main st in VH which we adored, we didn’t want to leave! I especially loved the health club, I was able to take a barre class with my daughter, a great start to my day! Oh and we made sure not to miss out on the morning coffee and pastries. Thank you Mansion House for a great first visit to MV, it surely won’t be our last with you!

The location is ideal and the rooms are large and well apportioned, GM, Sam Tyree is very kind and helpful, especially with appreciating room moves and packages. All the Front Desk staff, especially Abby & Dillon are great. Sincere appreciation to the Housekeepers, especially Janet, Shirley, Neuza, Val and Paige who remembered my brief stay last year and sincerely welcomed me back, and Clay wins the award for the help with my luggage inside and outside as I waited for my taxi to the airport.

We just spent four luxurious nights enjoying the ambiance of the Mansion House over the Christmas holidays! Our room looked out over the twinkling lights of Vineyard Haven Main Street which is like a quaint European village with adorable shops and eateries. The hotel and health spa were kept immaculate and clean. I especially enjoyed the 75-foot pool and hot tub for my morning swim. The breakfast had tasty coffee cake, fresh orange juice, healthy Chobani yogurt, and handy granola bars plus all the coffee and tea you could drink. The best part was the wonderful staff who attended to your every need; at one point we needed something from the local store and the attendant ran out to get it for us! We will definitely return to Mansion House and are so appreciative of their hospitality.

This hotel is in a very convenient location, just a short walk from the ferry and right on the Main Street with shops and restaurants steps away.
The room was beautiful. I'd say average size. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed. Had a nice view of Main Street. FYI - there is a refrigerator, but no microwave (not a complaint, just good to know). The only thing I'm subtracting points for is the hot water. On the first night I was there, I ran out of hot water during a short shower. And while I had enough hot water on the following days, it took forever to initially heat up. But overall, a good stay!

hello- We have a variety of rooms. Guests often rave about the views, soaking tub and space in our deluxe suites. Those rooms are on the 4th floor, have harbor views qand balconies.
You will have to ask hotel. There are restrictions re: which beaches a pet can go to.
We brought our rental car across which I think you need to do to get around all of the island, The Steamship Authority runs the ferry’s and you can book the ferry via their website. You would need to book as it can be busy even in winter when we were there and they are fairly frequent around every hour. The ferry leaves from Woods Hole throughout the year.
Mansion House if a two minute walk from The Black Dog Restaurant, which is right on the harbor for lobster. You can watch the sailboats and the ferry lights as it cruises out and enjoy a great meal. And there are other great restaurants near by with full menus.
