Family took a little 3 day trip to the vineyard, the mansion house was charming, friendly and clean. They had many things in place to help with the stay because of Covid-19 such as, codes to get into the hotel, hand sanitizer and wipes at all elevator entrances. The staff was very helpful with recommendations around town for great places to eat and beaches to visit. It is also located right next to many cute local shops and restaurants. We will definitely return at a later date to enjoy the full experience the hotel has to offer.

Comfortable room with window overlooking the main street of Vineyard Haven. Great exercise/workout area with indoor pool, as well. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. I will definitely stay here again!

Everything was closed, the room service was nowhere to be found, and, above all, they did not keep the place safe during the pandemic. For example, we needed to use elevator-like buttons to punch the code to get into the hotel. The very first day we arrived, I saw a semi-drunk guy coming out, stuffing his room's trash into a street garbage bin and then punching the code with his dirty hands. Picture that! And he was not wearing a mask! Thank God he was not coughing! I was really surprised - to say the least!- that he took his trash out, until I realized later that we had to do the same, as there was no trash removing service. Fortunately, we brought disposable gloves and sanitizing wipes, which we used every time we entered the hotel. Again, how hard is it to take common sense precautions?! Thankfully, it was a short trip, but I felt sorry for people who came from the cities like New York to catch a break. I am sure they were shocked. Certainly avoid it during COVID and plan to visit when things are normal again.

This is a tag team shake down for money. His wife also posted and he’d doubled down because we didn’t respond to his shake down as he wanted. He threatened us and knew how the TA algorithm is based on review numbers. This forum should be for legitimate concerns. Unfortunately this couple is using it as a game to get $$$ back. Shame on them to use this pandemic and our clearly stated “new normal” guidelines to get a refund. Our housekeepers provide full service when the guest confirms they want it and are out of the room. That is posted all over and reiterated at check in. Mansion House is proud of how we are responding to the health and safety of our guests and staff. This con man knows how to craft an untrue, inaccurate review. Martha’s Vineyard is proud of flattening the curve and of its ability to host guests as safely as possible.

Today is our last day at this hotel, after being here a full week. The staff has been incredibly flexible and helpful in every way we have asked. The rooms are well appointed and clean. I Recommend this hotel to anyone wanting the best hospitality Martha’s Vineyard has to offer. We look forward to coming back!

+ Lower your expectations greatly and then lower them even further. + Prepare to pay Ritz-level rates in exchange for Motel 6 hospitality. + Note that inconveniencing the staff with petty requests for a clean towel, a bucket of ice, or a paper plate is not welcomed. #awarmhelloisfree #soisemptyingtrashonceaday

She tried to “shake” us down by threatening a bad review. Apparently she and her husband do this for entertainment as they kept calling as they drove away from the ferry. The special they enjoyed was stay four days, pay for three. On top of that we gave an additional discount so they would not harass our staff, who did not enjoy being cursed out. Covid has indeed changed how we can do things and we are really proud of our excellent housekeeping and how we are diligently following the Commonwealth’s instructions. If you read their other reviews they apparently consistently dislike their hospitality choices. Wow. The husband even mentioned calling Alan Greenspan..Double Wow. I hope they find a vacation destination that caters to their crankiness. Sometimes it is our fault, no Inn is perfect, and we apologize and learn from the encounter and try to make things right for our guest. But some people just need to be unhappy.
