The Driftwood is very quaint, neat, clean, quiet, and a pleasant stroll down main street to downtown Vineyard Haven. The owner, Lorrie, is extremely hospitable and a great cook. She offered vegetables picked fresh from a local farm. Her house is very modern and in style for Marthas Vineyard. I highly recommend a visit.
I had a event to attend on MV and had stayed at The Driftwood once before. I was so thankful Laurie had availability. The Driftwood was at full capacity and yet my stay was as relaxing, quiet and clean as I remembered. Breakfast was fresh and delicious and I enjoyed listening to the other guests tell stories. I have now stayed here at 2 different times of year and will be back to experience yet other. I hear that off season is beautiful.Thank you Laurie for taking such good care of me especially since I was solo. I'll be back!
Our stay at The Driftwood was perfect. Within walking distance from Vinyard Haven, and the ferry!, it was quiet and homey. We stayed in the cozy little cabin, on the property with its separate bathroom. It was private and quiet. Laurie is so kind and hospitable, and she has a large variety of breakfast items, and plenty of coffee! Always responsive to our needs, she even mailed me an earring that I left behind!! Every day when we returned to our cabin, there was fresh ice waiting for us, and a new bottle of water for each of us. It was very nurturing. The care that she puts into her gardens, surrounding the home, make you feel like you’re in an oasis. I went with girlfriends, but will be back with my husband, for a romantic weekend. Thanks for everything, Laurie!!
I was traveling solo and stayed on MV for a gig, and the client booked me at The Driftwood. Laurie greeted me outside and showed me around and was so friendly. I was the only booking on this particular off-season day so I had the upstairs and bathroom all to myself. I came home around midnight and she was up and about, so her and I chatted for a bit before I retired for the night. I woke up early the next morning to catch the boat and she had breakfast and coffee waiting for me and even wanted reassurance that she was quiet.. which I didn't hear a peep! I got on the boat with a full tummy and even a snack for the road! Her home is very quaint and cozy and clean and she was incredibly hospitable. Make sure to ask Laurie about some great local stories!
I missed the last boat; hotels/inns were booked. The Driftwood had 1 room left; The owner was welcoming.Breakfast was a plus! Was pleasantly surprised and would go again.Your hospitality was a lifesaver.
